Today we speak with Reem Khatib, a researcher and curator based in Jerusalem and Bethlehem, and Programme Coordinator and Sound Studio Manager at Dar Jacir for Art and Research. She has taken part in 'Unbuilding Listenings' with Nicolás Jaar, coordinates the 'Palestine Beats' workshop with Berklee College of Music, and curates 'Rhythms for Relief', using sound and music for healing and collective resilience in the face of colonial oppression. Dar Jacir, founded in 2014, is an artist-led and women-led space in Bethlehem, the only one of its kind in the southern West Bank, working across visual arts, sound, cinema, performance, dance, literature, and agriculture. With intimacy at its heart, it builds collective knowledge and structures of care and repair in a deeply shattered territory.
