Finding Your Tribe: When God Builds Family Beyond Blood

What happens when the people who love you most aren’t related by blood? In this deeply personal and faith-centered episode of Failure Into Freedom, Katie shares how God builds divine community and chosen family in seasons of exhaustion, crisis, and healing. Recorded during a week marked by illness, emergency room visits, and overwhelming stress, this episode is a powerful reminder that God’s provision often comes through people. Through Scripture, testimony, and real-life examples, we explore what it means to find your tribe — a God-ordained community that loves without conditions, without keeping score, and without expectation of return. This episode speaks directly to those who: • Feel lonely within their own family • Are healing from relational trauma or unhealthy family dynamics • Are learning to set boundaries without guilt • Long for authentic Christian community and emotional safety • Are discovering that chosen family can be a gift from God Key Topics Covered: • Biblical examples of chosen family (Ruth and Naomi, Jesus redefining family) • The difference between blood relationships and covenant relationships • What a God-ordained tribe truly looks like • How God shows up through community during crisis • Why boundaries are biblical and necessary for healing • Finding peace, belonging, and support beyond traditional family structures Scriptures Referenced: Proverbs 18:24 • Ruth 1:16–17 • Mark 3:33–35 • Ecclesiastes 4:9–12 • Romans 12:10 If you’ve ever wondered why the people who show up for you the most don’t share your last name — this episode will remind you that God is intentional about the people He places in your life. You are not broken. You are not abandoned. God is still building your tribe.

Holy No Contact: When God Calls You to Walk Away — Biblical Boundaries for Healing & Protection

Sometimes the holiest thing you can do… is walk away. In this special episode, we dive deep into what the Bible actually says about going no contact with toxic family, abusive relationships, and generational dysfunction. You’ll hear the modern-day retelling of Joseph, why distance can be God’s protection, and how setting boundaries is not rebellion — it’s obedience, healing, and spiritual safety. We unpack: • Biblical examples of no contact • How God uses separation to protect, prepare, and promote you • The difference between emotional walls and God-led boundaries • How PTSD triggers, trauma cycles, and unsafe people affect your peace • Why walking away may be the most faith-filled choice you ever make This episode is for every woman who’s ever felt guilty for choosing peace, questioned her decision to stay away from toxic people, or begged God to confirm that the distance is divine. You are not crazy. You are not dramatic. You are protected. ⸻ ✨ Join The Freedom Foundry If today’s episode hit home and you’re ready for deeper healing, community, and guided transformation, come join The Freedom Foundry — my private membership for Christian women reclaiming identity after trauma. When Thanksgiving Changes — Boundaries, Family Estrangement & Trusting God’s Protection

Thanksgiving used to be my favorite day — 50 to 60 family members gathered in my grandma’s home in Abilene, the one place that always felt safe growing up. But adulthood changed everything. The same Thanksgiving I became a single mom was the last one my grandma ever hosted… and the moment I realized my biological father was not safe for me or my babies. Last year, after trying to rebuild broken family relationships, things exploded so deeply that I am now completely no-contact for the safety of my husband and children. And this year? We’re home with a stomach virus instead of with the family who always loved us like their own. But I’m learning something sacred in the middle of it all: Different doesn’t mean failure. Sometimes God reroutes us to protect us — even when it hurts. This episode is for the woman whose holidays don’t look like they used to… for the one navigating grief, boundaries, loneliness, and unanswered questions — yet still choosing to trust God’s hand. Scriptures: Psalm 147:3 Romans 8:28 If your Thanksgiving feels messy, lonely, or nothing like you planned — this episode is for you. 💛 Ready to go deeper in your healing?
