    Unplugging from the World’s Programming

    What if the thing keeping you spiritually powerless isn’t a lack of faith, but what you haven’t been willing to let go of? Many of us have been taught that growing in God means adding more. More knowledge, more church, more spiritual practices. But true transformation works differently. It starts with removal. Colossians 3 makes the sequence clear: put off the old nature first, then put on the new. The problem is that most of us are trying to do it the other way around. In this episode, we talk honestly about what happens when we try to layer Christ on top of a life we haven’t surrendered, mixing our faith with worldly practices, other spiritualities, or beliefs we’ve inherited without ever testing them against Scripture. The glass of pure water with one drop of poison is still poisoned. Adding more water doesn’t fix it. We also explore what it means to walk in the power and authority Jesus said would be ours, and why a house divided against itself cannot stand. This isn’t about perfection or pressure. The Holy Spirit doesn’t correct us to condemn us. The correction is so we can be free. The difference between Spirit-led transformation and willpower-driven legalism is the condition of the heart behind it.     Beyond the Red Pill

    Most of us were already living inside the system long before we realized there was a choice. In this step from Wilderness to Wisdom, we go beyond the red pill. We think we’re making conscious decisions, but a lot of what we call decision-making is really just running pre-installed programs. There’s a quiet cycle underneath our reactions, one made of desire, fear, and ego, that keeps us responding to the world instead of being led by the Holy Spirit. In this episode, we look at what’s actually driving our thinking, why awareness alone doesn’t set us free, and the difference between seeing the system clearly and being led out of it. The Bible has been pointing to something real all along about the nature of this world and what we’re up against. This isn’t conspiracy talk. It’s Scripture.     Red Pill Blue Pill... or Neither?

    For a long time I used to say that I had taken the red pill and stepped out of the matrix. But as I’ve kept walking, I’ve had to ask why we’re choosing either pill at all. In this step from Wilderness to Wisdom, we look at the illusion of choice. Red or blue. This side or that side. For us or against us. The world trains us to believe freedom means picking between the options we’ve been given, but what if both options are part of the same system? The enemy doesn’t always need you asleep. Sometimes he just needs you alert, informed, highly opinionated, and distracted enough to miss what the Holy Spirit is actually saying. Distraction rarely feels dangerous. It just feels like staying busy. As followers of Christ, we were never meant to live by pills, labels, or movements. Our citizenship is in Heaven, and the Holy Spirit is our helper and guide.     Question Everything, Debate Nothing

    Most of us don’t question the world nearly enough. And most of us spend far too much energy debating things that shouldn’t be debated in the first place. In this step from Wilderness to Wisdom, we look at what it means to question everything and debate nothing. Everything in life comes from either God or the devil, and the enemy’s most effective strategy isn’t obvious evil. It’s getting us to accept something as normal. Once we do, he no longer has to fight us for it. Many of us have been discipled by the world more than by the Word without realizing it, so we’ve built our lives on assumptions we’ve never held up to Scripture. Questioning brings clarity. Debating almost never does. The Kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power. The real question isn’t whether we can defend our beliefs. It’s whether we’re walking in what Jesus said believers would walk in. This step is about examining what we believe, what we practice, what we tolerate, and what we repeat, and having the humility to say, “If this doesn’t align with Your Word, I don’t want it anymore.” 📖 Want to go deeper?     Step Eleven - Repeat

    Repeat. That’s the step. Do it again. And again. In this step from Wilderness to Wisdom, we come to the last of the foundational steps, and it might be the simplest one to say but one of the hardest to live out. This journey isn’t about a one-time decision. It’s about consistently walking with God and letting our minds be renewed as we choose the narrow path day after day. Consistency is where transformation happens. Not in a single big decision, but in the many small ones we make every day to keep choosing God, even when we’re tired and even when we don’t see immediate results. Repeating these steps aligns our flesh with the Holy Spirit, keeps us in a Kingdom mindset, and positions us to receive continual revelation, which isn’t the finish line. It’s the starting point. Before I understood this, I was on a hamster wheel, cycling through the same patterns and calling them “new seasons,” when really they were the same toxic cycles dressed up in different circumstances. 📖 Want to go deeper?     Step Ten - Know Your Enemy

    We have a real enemy. In this step from Wilderness to Wisdom, we look at who he is, how he works, and why understanding him matters if we want to walk in the authority we have in Christ. This isn’t about fear. It’s about awareness. Scripture describes the devil as prowling like a roaring lion, but his power is in deception, not force. He can’t overpower us. He can only get us to agree with his lies. Every stronghold begins as a thought. What we meditate on becomes what we believe, and what we believe becomes what we live. That’s why the mind is the actual battlefield, and why so much of what we experience in culture, media, marketing, and even in some churches, is designed to shape agreement with lies we haven’t yet recognized as lies. Recognizing the spiritual root behind everyday life changes how we respond. We stop fighting people and start fighting with the weapons that actually work. You are already seated in victory.     Step Nine - Obedience

    Once we hear from God, obedience is what turns hearing into action. In this step from Wilderness to Wisdom, we look at what obedience actually is and why so many of us confuse it with performance. We’re not obeying God to earn His love or His blessings. Because of Jesus, we already have them. Faith rests. Performance strives. Obedience isn’t rigid rule-keeping. It’s the byproduct of belief, because our actions always follow what we truly believe. Disobedience is usually unbelief in disguise. When we understand who God is and who we are in Christ, obedience stops feeling like pressure and starts feeling like freedom. We also look at the barriers: fear, ego, and control. And how “God knows my heart” often becomes the warm cozy blanket we use to avoid what He’s already told us to do.     Step Eight - Hearing From God

    Hearing from God isn’t reserved for pastors or “super spiritual” people. In this step from Wilderness to Wisdom, we look at what it actually means to hear God’s voice and how to recognize it. John 10:27 tells us that Jesus’ sheep hear His voice. That means we can hear Him, He knows us personally, and when we hear Him we’re meant to follow. But most of us have been taught to look for God in dramatic moments instead of the quiet knowing that actually comes. God speaks through His Word, through peace or the lack of it, through people, through dreams, and in the stillness we usually rush past.
