    The Tithe Was Never Money

    In this episode, we look at what the tithe was and who received it. We examine the priesthood the tithe belonged to and why Scripture says it has changed. We also address the Scriptures used most often to enforce tithing, including Malachi 3, Matthew 23, and Luke 6:38. The Levitical priesthood the tithe supported no longer exists in the same way. Hebrews 7:12 says that when the priesthood changes, the law changes with it, and Scripture calls all believers a royal priesthood. The New Testament names no percentage. It describes giving decided in the heart, free of pressure, and aimed at real need. The people the tithe was meant to help have become the people funding the institution. This is not an episode against generosity. Scripture describes believers who gave in ways that go far beyond a percentage.     What Gathering Looked Like in the Bible

    Church, as most of us think of it, is not what Scripture describes. The word translated as church in our Bibles is the Greek word ekklesia, which means a called-out assembly of people. Not a building. Not an institution. The ekklesia is who we are. In this episode, we look at how believers actually gathered in the New Testament, what happened when they came together, and why the intimacy Scripture describes cannot happen in the model most of us have called church. Believers met in homes, shared meals, and cared for one another daily. Everyone brought something when they came together. Teaching moved among them rather than flowing from one person to a silent audience. We also look at Hebrews 10:25 in its full context. It’s the verse most often used to defend attendance at a modern church service, and when we read what it actually says, it describes something very different. Unity is not sameness manufactured by a central authority. It is produced from the inside by the Holy Spirit as believers grow toward the same truth. Denominations, including the ones that call themselves non-denominational, form when something true is followed by man-made doctrine built on top of it. Being based on the Bible was never enough. A journey that starts correctly and turns wrong repeatedly still ends up somewhere it was never meant to be. Gathering was never meant to be mediated for us by an institution.     Jesus Never Called Us Christians

    Christianity is a religion derived from Jesus Christ and based on the Bible. Jesus did not establish it. He said, “Follow Me.” Believers in Scripture were known as those of “the Way.” That distinction is not about semantics. It is about what Jesus actually established versus what we ended up with. In this episode, we look at what Christianity is by definition, why the word “Christian” appears only three times in Scripture, and how a system was built around Jesus, given His name, and has kept us from what He actually taught. This is not about condemning anyone who calls themselves a Christian. Many use that word while loving God deeply and walking sincerely. It is about understanding the religion that formed around Jesus, leaving it behind, and following Him according to the Bible, as Scripture calls us to. Everything we look at from here forward requires this examination. If Christianity is the frame, every question we ask sounds like an attack on God when it is really about walking according to His will. The invitation is not to take my position.     When Emotions Become Strongholds

    Every emotion we experience has a root, either in the Holy Spirit within us or in the flesh and the influences of the world around us. When we don’t know where our emotions come from, they can become strongholds the devil uses to keep us from receiving what God is trying to show us. In this episode, we look at where our emotions come from, how strongholds form, the spirit of offense as one of the devil’s most effective tools, and what actually produces peace in us. We also look at the difference between emotions rooted in fear and emotions rooted in the Word, and why willpower alone can’t hold us steady. This episode is preparation for everything ahead. If we truly want to seek God’s Kingdom and His righteousness, we will have to question everything. And with that comes information that may be uncomfortable. If we can’t recognize when emotions are controlling our response, we may interpret that discomfort as a signal that what we’re hearing is wrong. The goal is not to stop feeling. The goal is that what comes forth from us reflects the nature of Christ, which begins as the Word takes root in the places the devil has been operating. 📖 Want to go deeper?     Do We Really Believe?

    What if the gap between what we say we believe and how we actually live is bigger than we’ve been willing to admit? Jesus said that whoever believes in Him would do the works He did and greater. That’s not a verse for someone else. It was said to whoever believes, and that includes us. But most of us are not living anywhere near what Jesus described as normal for those who follow Him. That gap is not something we can keep ignoring. Do we really believe everything the Bible says, or only the parts that keep us comfortable? We look at how information alone doesn’t change us, why revelation is what actually moves the truth of God’s Word into something we walk in, and how our belief tends to collapse in the specific places where the world has trained us to expect impossibility. We also examine what has been shaping our belief. The pastors, the influences, the parts of Scripture we’ve disregarded, the parts we’ve never studied for ourselves. Because whatever we’re consistently giving our attention to is what’s directing our life, whether we’ve realized it or not. This isn’t about condemnation or pretending any of us have this figured out. It’s about being willing to look at where we are, compare it to what Jesus actually said, and let the Holy Spirit show us where we’ve settled for less than what’s been made available to us.     Unplugging from the World’s Programming

    What if the thing keeping you spiritually powerless isn’t a lack of faith, but what you haven’t been willing to let go of? Many of us have been taught that growing in God means adding more. More knowledge, more church, more spiritual practices. But true transformation works differently. It starts with removal. Colossians 3 makes the sequence clear: put off the old nature first, then put on the new. The problem is that most of us are trying to do it the other way around. In this episode, we talk honestly about what happens when we try to layer Christ on top of a life we haven’t surrendered, mixing our faith with worldly practices, other spiritualities, or beliefs we’ve inherited without ever testing them against Scripture. The glass of pure water with one drop of poison is still poisoned. Adding more water doesn’t fix it. We also explore what it means to walk in the power and authority Jesus said would be ours, and why a house divided against itself cannot stand. This isn’t about perfection or pressure. The Holy Spirit doesn’t correct us to condemn us. The correction is so we can be free. The difference between Spirit-led transformation and willpower-driven legalism is the condition of the heart behind it.     Beyond the Red Pill

    Most of us were already living inside the system long before we realized there was a choice. In this step from Wilderness to Wisdom, we go beyond the red pill. We think we’re making conscious decisions, but a lot of what we call decision-making is really just running pre-installed programs. There’s a quiet cycle underneath our reactions, one made of desire, fear, and ego, that keeps us responding to the world instead of being led by the Holy Spirit. In this episode, we look at what’s actually driving our thinking, why awareness alone doesn’t set us free, and the difference between seeing the system clearly and being led out of it. The Bible has been pointing to something real all along about the nature of this world and what we’re up against. This isn’t conspiracy talk. It’s Scripture.     Red Pill Blue Pill... or Neither?

    For a long time I used to say that I had taken the red pill and stepped out of the matrix. But as I’ve kept walking, I’ve had to ask why we’re choosing either pill at all. In this step from Wilderness to Wisdom, we look at the illusion of choice. Red or blue. This side or that side. For us or against us. The world trains us to believe freedom means picking between the options we’ve been given, but what if both options are part of the same system? The enemy doesn’t always need you asleep. Sometimes he just needs you alert, informed, highly opinionated, and distracted enough to miss what the Holy Spirit is actually saying. Distraction rarely feels dangerous. It just feels like staying busy. As followers of Christ, we were never meant to live by pills, labels, or movements. Our citizenship is in Heaven, and the Holy Spirit is our helper and guide. This step is about learning to be led by Him instead of reacting to what the world puts in front of us. Sometimes the most Spirit-led decision is not choosing a side. 📖 Want to go deeper?
