    Surfacing a Diagnosis

Welcome back to Limitless in 5 - the podcast that delivers sales and GTM insights with a focus on staying calm, clear, and in command as a high performer. In this episode, Brooke Hamrick and Shar Babaie, co-founders of Limitless Growth Consulting Agency, talk about why the solution someone asks for isn't always the solution they need, and how taking the time to diagnose the real problem can save everyone time, effort, and frustration. A client requests a new feature. A prospect books a demo. A coworker asks you to change a process. A leader gives you a specific task. It's easy to take the request at face value, especially when you know how to deliver it. But people often come to the conversation with a solution already in mind, based on what they're experiencing and what they believe will fix it. That doesn't necessarily mean they've identified the underlying problem. Brooke and Shar discuss why it's worth asking a few more questions before jumping into execution, how to recognize when a request doesn't quite add up, and why even experienced subject matter experts benefit from validating the problem before committing time and resources. In this episode, we cover: • Why people often ask for a specific solution before fully understanding their problem   • How to recognize when a request deserves a little more investigation   • Why asking "What's the problem you're trying to solve?" can change the entire conversation   • How better discovery leads to more relevant sales demos and recommendations   • Why subject matter expertise comes with a responsibility to diagnose before executing   • How to challenge a request without dismissing the person making it   • Why even requests from experienced leaders benefit from a quick validation   • How trust and expertise influence how much discovery is necessary   • The cost of spending time and resources solving the wrong problem   • Why understanding what someone is experiencing matters as much as understanding what they're asking for   Think about someone walking into a doctor's office asking for a Z-Pak. They may be convinced it's what they need, but a good doctor is going to ask about their symptoms before writing a prescription. Otherwise, they could end up treating a problem that doesn't exist while overlooking the one that does. The same principle applies in sales, consulting, leadership, and everyday business decisions. Sometimes the requested solution is exactly right. Other times, a few thoughtful questions reveal a completely different issue worth addressing. Taking the time to understand what's actually happening helps you make better recommendations, avoid unnecessary work, and build confidence that the time you're investing will lead to the outcome everyone is looking for. Because the value you bring as an expert goes beyond knowing how to execute. It includes knowing when to ask why. 🔗 Resources and Next Steps 👉 Subscribe to Limitless in 5 on your favorite platform to get new 5-minute episodes each week.  👉 Visit limitlessconsulting.agency for GTM resources, templates, and thought leadership.  👉 Join the Field Notes newsletter for practical growth insights and stories from the field. Different Perspectives, Stronger Partnerships

Welcome back to Limitless in 5 - the podcast that delivers sales and GTM insights with a focus on staying calm, clear, and in command as a high performer. In this episode, Brooke Hamrick and Shar Babaie, co-founders of Limitless Growth Consulting Agency, talk about what happens when friction between teams turns into blame, and the role leaders play in changing that dynamic. Sales says Success dropped the ball. Success says Sales set the wrong expectations. Marketing thinks Sales isn't following up. Before long, teams can spend more energy protecting themselves from each other than solving the actual problem. Brooke and Shar talk through how they approach cross-functional conflict with clients, from bringing people into the same conversation to establishing a shared goal, understanding what actually happened, and separating one-off mistakes from patterns that need to be addressed. In this episode, we cover: • Why assuming positive intent takes practice   • How shared goals can reset a difficult conversation   • Why leaders should bring teams together instead of managing conflict through separate conversations   • How to distinguish a one-off mistake from a pattern worth solving   • Why understanding how each person experienced the situation matters   • How trust between leaders changes the way teams handle conflict   • The impact your reaction has when your team may have made the mistake   • Why people are more willing to surface problems when mistakes aren't treated as personal failures   • How blame cultures create politics, defensiveness, and unnecessary work   • Why cross-functional alignment ultimately comes back to the customer experience   Sometimes Sales made the mistake. Sometimes Success did. Sometimes Marketing, Support, or leadership owns part of the problem. And sometimes the process itself created the breakdown. The goal is to create enough trust that people can surface what happened, understand it, fix it, and carry the learning forward. When teams trust that identifying a mistake won't immediately turn into assigning blame, they can spend their energy solving problems together. And when leaders model that behavior consistently, conflict becomes a source of information that can make the entire customer experience better. Do you see what I see?

Welcome back to Limitless in 5 - the podcast that delivers sales and GTM insights with a focus on staying calm, clear, and in command as a high performer. In this episode, Brooke Hamrick and Shar Babaie, co-founders of Limitless Growth Consulting Agency, talk about something they've learned firsthand as business partners: two smart people can sit through the exact same conversation and walk away having noticed completely different things. Brooke and Shar have incredibly complementary skill sets, and over time they've realized their differences go beyond what they're each good at. They also tend to see problems from different angles. Early on, that occasionally created friction. Now, they treat those different perspectives as additional data points. The same thing happens across GTM teams all the time. Sales, Marketing, Implementation, and Customer Success are all interacting with different parts of the buyer and customer journey. Naturally, they're going to see different problems. In this episode, we cover: • Why complementary skill sets make teams stronger   • What happens when two leaders see the same situation completely differently   • Learning to treat different perspectives as additional data points   • Why Sales and Success can both be right about the same customer   • The context that gets lost during customer handoffs   • Why customer expectations can shift between Sales and Implementation   • How buyers accidentally create confusion too   • Why recurring friction doesn't automatically mean a team is doing something wrong   • The value of looking at a problem across the entire customer journey   Sometimes Sales did exactly what they were supposed to do. The buyer still shows up to implementation expecting something different. Maybe their needs changed. Maybe something new came up internally. Maybe they talked to ten vendors and genuinely can't remember who told them what. Nobody has to be the bad guy for friction to exist. The more you understand what each team is seeing from their part of the journey, the easier it becomes to figure out what's actually happening and what, if anything, needs to change. Authenticity Over Frequency

Welcome back to Limitless in 5 -- the podcast that delivers sales and GTM insights with a focus on staying calm, clear, and in command as a high performer. In this episode, Brooke Hamrick and Shar Babaie, co-founders of Limitless Growth Consulting Agency, get candid about something they help clients do all the time but still struggle to do consistently themselves: show up on LinkedIn and other social platforms. For Brooke and Shar, the challenge isn't knowing what to do. It's finding a way to do it that actually feels authentic. They talk about why following the standard social media playbook can sometimes feel forced, how they've built content around the conversations they naturally have every day, and why visibility doesn't always require being everywhere or doing everything. In this episode, we cover: • Why knowing the playbook doesn't always make it easier to follow• The difference between consistency and forcing yourself into a content strategy that doesn't fit• How to find topics and formats that feel natural to you• Why the goal of LinkedIn may be simpler than you think: reminding people you exist• How a low-performing post can still create a real business opportunity• Why batching content can make consistency more manageable• The hidden energy cost of creating content that doesn't feel authentic• How to focus on the goal behind a tactic instead of blindly following the playbook Sometimes the post that gets the most engagement isn't the one that creates an opportunity. Sometimes someone in your network simply sees your name and thinks, "I've been meaning to reach out." The goal isn't to show up everywhere or execute every tactic perfectly. It's to understand what you're trying to accomplish and find a way to do it that feels natural enough to keep doing. 🔗 Resources and Next Steps 👉 Subscribe to Limitless in 5 on your favorite platform to get new 5-minute episodes each week.👉 Visit limitlessconsulting.agency for GTM resources, templates, and thought leadership.👉 Join the Field Notes newsletter for practical growth insights and stories from the field. Limitless in 5: The Universal Struggle Bus

Your hosts Brooke Hamrick and Shar Babaie, co-founders of Limitless Growth Consulting Agency, are kicking things off by getting candid about the struggles that still show up after years of experience. In this episode, Brooke shares one of hers: patience. When you've solved the same problem hundreds of times, it can be easy to forget what it felt like to encounter it for the first time. Brooke shares how this shows up when managing and coaching sales teams, why recognizing the source of her impatience matters, and the tool she uses to shift how she responds. In this episode, we cover: Why experience can make it harder to remember what it's like to be new How impatience can show up when coaching and managing others Using a "teacher" or "trainer" persona to shift your response The difference between someone who is still learning and someone who simply deprioritized the work When a situation calls for patience and when it calls for accountability This episode is a reminder that even experienced leaders have default patterns to manage, and self-awareness can change how those patterns show up for the people around them. 🔗Resources and Next Steps 👉 Subscribe to Limitless in 5 on your favorite platform to get new 5-minute episodes each week. 👉 Visit limitlessconsulting.agency for GTM resources, templates, and thought Leadership. 👉 Join the newsletter Field Notes for practical growth insights and stories from the Field. Limitless in 5: The Blind Spots of Optimism

Welcome back to Limitless in 5 – the podcast that delivers sales and GTM insights with a focus on staying calm, clear, and in command as a high performer. In today’s episode, your hosts Brooke Hamrick and Shar Babaie, co-founders of Limitless Growth Consulting Agency, explore one of the most common—and surprisingly costly—patterns inside early-stage companies: the optimism trap. But when that optimism goes unchecked, it can lead to overloaded teams, premature ideas, poor-fit strategies, and painful misalignment as the company scales. This episode breaks down how to keep the optimism (because it is a superpower) without letting it quietly wreck your capacity, decision-making, or organizational stability. In this episode, we cover: Why optimistic founders tend to ignore their own limitationsHow “everything feels like an opportunity” – and how that leads to hidden overloadThe massive role discernment plays in separating useful strategies from distracting onesSimple questions that help you catch blind spots before they impact the team This conversation will help leaders stay visionary without becoming the “idea of the month” machine that destabilizes execution. 🔗 Resources and Next Steps 👉 Subscribe to Limitless in 5 on your favorite platform to get new 5-minute episodes each week. 👉 Visit limitlessconsulting.agency for GTM resources, templates, and thought leadership. 👉 Join our newsletter Field Notes for practical growth insights and stories from the field.
