    Boo-ya-kuh!

    This week on the Matters Not Podcast, Chris and Buck spiral through everything from Game of Thrones binges and spoiler warfare to steel mill horror stories, weird internet rabbit holes, and the legality of marrying mannequins in the “country” of Ohio. Buck finally caves and watches Game of Thrones for the first time, instantly becoming obsessed while Chris tries—and fails—not to spoil the series. The guys dive into old-school work culture, brutal dry dock and steel mill jobs, and why everyday workers deserve the same respect people give athletes and celebrities. Along the way they debate streaming subscriptions, weird workplace personalities, fitness and weight loss, fish vs. fishes, shark rumors in the Ohio River, and whether society should allow people to marry inanimate objects. Also included: homeless podcast ideas, creepy historical baby cages hanging off skyscrapers, shell shock in WWI, lost 9/11 footage rabbit holes, and enough off-the-rails tangents to make you question how any of these topics connected in the first place.     Isola del Giglio

    In this episode of Matters Not, Internet Historian becomes the launch point for a chaotic, hilarious, and surprisingly detailed breakdown of the infamous Costa Concordia disaster. Chris and Buck react to the catastrophic 2012 cruise ship wreck while spiraling into stories about cruises, sketchy leadership, language barriers, survival instincts, and the absolute insanity surrounding Captain Francesco Schettino’s decisions during the disaster. The conversation bounces between dark humor and genuine disbelief as they unpack how a luxury cruise liner carrying over 4,000 people struck rocks off the coast of Italy during a reckless “sail-by salute,” eventually capsizing near Isola del Giglio. Along the way, the guys dive into cruise culture, personal fears about flying and loss of control, incompetent management, and the surreal chain of failures that turned a near miss into an international disaster.
