EP 20 | Things Nobody Tells You About Motherhood ft The Nourished Mom

Nobody tells you that motherhood will change you in ways you were completely unprepared for. Not just your schedule, not just your body. You. Who you are. How you see yourself. What you need. What you grieve. What surprises you. What breaks you open. In this episode Dr. Fatima Mohamed sits down with Fawzia Mohamed, mother and host of The Nourished Mom podcast, for a conversation that every mother needs to hear and that nobody in our community is having honestly enough. Two mothers getting real about the things that catch you completely off guard. The emotional weight nobody mentions. The physical recovery that takes far longer than anyone admits. What a baby does to a marriage that was perfectly fine before. The slow loss of identity that happens so quietly you don't notice until one day you look in the mirror and don't recognise the woman looking back. The rage. The guilt. The loneliness. The pressure in our community to do it all gracefully and never admit that it is hard. And what it actually means to take care of yourself as a mother when your culture, your community and sometimes even the people closest to you are all asking you to put everyone else first. This one is for the mother who has everything and still feels like she is barely holding on. You are not alone and you are not failing. Nobody just told you the whole truth. EP 19 | The Questions You're Too Scared To Ask Before Marriage - But Absolutely Should

Are you in a courtship right now avoiding the conversations that actually matter? Or did you get married without asking the questions you should have and are now living with what you did not know? This episode is for you. Dr. Fatima Mohamed sits down with Luul Hassan for the conversation every woman needs to hear before she says yes. We go through the questions that feel too forward, too uncomfortable, or too soon to ask but are actually the most important ones you will ever have. We talk about money and who really controls it. Children and what raising them together genuinely looks like day to day. His family and how much space they take in your life. Faith, not the public version, where he actually is privately. Communication, conflict, and how he handles being wrong. Intimacy beyond the physical. Polygamy. And the practical everyday questions nobody thinks to ask until they are already inside a marriage that is not working. By the end of this episode you will have a complete picture of what to look for, what to ask, and what the answers actually reveal about the person sitting in front of you. Because love is not enough. And going in with your eyes open is not unromantic, it is the most loving thing you can do for your future marriage. Ep 18 | The Weight Of Expectations - Why Women Are Isolated & How We Can Rebuild Our Community Part 2

You have a full life. A career. A family. Things to show for your effort. And somehow you still feel like nobody truly sees you. Like you are carrying everything and doing it completely alone. This episode is for that woman. Dr. Fatima Mohamed sits down with Fartun Hussein, Life Coach and Founder of Noor Essence Coaching, to talk about something our community does not say out loud enough, the weight of expectations that is quietly isolating Muslim and Somali women and pulling them away from the community they desperately need. We talk honestly about the impossible standard placed on women today. The pressure to be successful, present, spiritual, selfless and strong, all at once with nothing left for yourself and nobody checking on you. The village that disappeared without anyone announcing it. The way strength became a mask and asking for help became something to be ashamed of. And what all of that is costing women,  in their mental health, their bodies, their marriages and their sense of self. And then we talk about what rebuilding actually looks like. Not the generic advice. The honest, practical, faith-grounded conversation about how Muslim and Somali women can find their way back to each other, and back to themselves. Because we were never meant to do this alone. And it is not too late to build the village we needed all along. Support the show Hope you enjoy this episode and stay tunes for more to come. Until next time, stay inspired and keep growing.
