Route 66: Summer Road Trip Week 8: Reality Check: You might be blind and not know it! Acts 9:1-6 NLT God given reality check: Acts 9:7-9 NLT Am I blind to something You are doing, God?What did it take to help me see? What will it take to help me see?Have I ignored God’s extreme measures in the past? Acts 9:11-19 NLT Only those who accept that they have been blind will see life clearly. Matthew 26:38-39 NLT Luke 9:23-25 NLT Then He told them what they could expect for themselves: “Anyone who intends to come with Me has to let Me lead. You’re not in the driver’s seat—I am. Don’t run from suffering; embrace it. Follow Me and I’ll show you how. Self-help is no help at all. Self-sacrifice is the way, My way, to finding yourself, your true self. What good would it do to get everything you want and lose you, the real you? Luke 9:23-25 The Message Acts 9:6 NLT All of this is so you can bless those God loves. Acts 9:15 ; Acts 9:20-21 NLT Stepping from Blindness to Sight: 1. Go back to a time of blindness and suffering you have ignored. 2. Pray this prayer daily… Father, show me where I am blind. Use whatever means possible so that I can have clear accurate vision for what you are doing around me. I will not run from the suffering that you can use to teach me. I submit to what you want not what I want. Help me to see that this is not about me being able to see you clearly for my own benefit but rather it is for those you love who are separated from you and are suffering because of it. 3. Recite Luke 9:23-25 daily out loud. Then He said to the crowd, “If any of you wants to be My follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross daily, and follow Me. 24 If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for My sake, you will save it. 25 And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but are yourself lost or destroyed? Luke 9:23-25 NLT

    7/19/26 The Magi

Route 66: Summer Road Trips Week 7: The Magi Matthew 2:1-3 NIV    Our trips usually fall into one of two categories: Business or Personal The Magi would have said this trip falls under a 3rd category: Worship   Like the Magi, we probably would have expected it to end in Jerusalem, but God often uses the little or unexpected to accomplish His plans.                                                                                                 Who were the Magi, that are often referred to as the Wisemen?   How did they know about the promised Jewish Messiah? Daniel 2:48 NIV Matthew 2:4-8 NIV   “The Magi were seeking the King; Herod was opposing the King; and the Jewish priests were ignoring the King.”  -Warren Wiersbe    Matthew 2:9-12 NIV                                                                                                     They Worshipped: They gave their presence.                                                                            They bowed down.                                                                                They brought gifts.   The Wisemen are wise because… they know whom they are looking for, Jesus the King of Kings.Jeremiah 29:13 NLT they don’t give up!  Whether the journey takes months or years, whether the Star is bright or temporally hidden.  They persevere with a faith driven by a God-given passion for Jesus Christ – they don’t stop at Jerusalem…they keep going to Bethlehem. 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 NIV when they encounter Jesus, they worship Him. Not for anything He might do for them, but solely for the honor and glory they might render to God, Who came to earth to save us and now rules and reigns in Heaven and whose Spirit indwells us.  Psalm 145:3; 95:6 NIV   Step of Obedience- A Magi Quiz: 1.    How are you daily seeking Jesus? 2.    What is one thing that’s making it hard to connect with Him that you can remove this week? 3.    How long has it been since you spent some time really worshipping Jesus?
