    The most common storytelling mistake (and why it makes people tune out)

In this episode, I’m naming one of the most common mistakes authors make when sharing their story on podcasts, Zooms, and stages: turning the story into a credibility pitch. Not because you’re arrogant, but because fear of judgment makes you reach for safety, and “safety” often sounds like extra context, qualifications, and explaining. You’ll learn why people tune out when your story becomes a resume, what “human specificity” actually means (and why it makes people lean in), and a simple shift you can make immediately: stop trying to make your story acceptable and start making it specific.
