Unburdened Leadership: Release the Weight You Were Never Meant to Carry

Unburdened leadership starts with releasing weight that was never yours to carry. In this episode of The Expansion Room, we explore why so many women leaders are running on empty, and what it actually takes to lead from a regulated, grounded place. We talk about the emotional and spiritual burden women accumulate over years of leading and serving others, why nervous system regulation, not willpower or strategy, is the real foundation for sustainable leadership, and what becomes possible when a woman reconnects with her healed, authentic voice. This is a conversation about getting unstuck from the identity of the overextended leader and returning to leadership from a grounded place, not a depleted one. IF AI CAN DO MORE OF YOUR JOB, DO THIS NOW

Your job title can survive while the value inside your job quietly moves somewhere else. If AI can already do part of your work, the real question is not "Is my career safe?" The real question is: which part of my value is getting cheaper, and which part is becoming more important? In this episode of The Expansion Room, I walk you through the AI Career Pre-Flight, a practical six-step framework to help you get unstuck from generalized fear and start gathering real evidence about your own work. Fear is a terrible career strategy. Information is where agency begins. You'll learn how to: ✔ Break your job into tasks AI can do, tasks AI can help with, and tasks that still need you ✔ Identify where your value is moving across four layers: execution, judgment, context, and accountability ✔ Run a replacement test on your own work and grade it like a professional ✔ Decide whether to retrain without chasing a "safe" job that keeps shifting ✔ Build a Plan A for adaptation and a Plan B for mobility ✔ Choose one 30-day move that turns anxiety into action You don't need certainty about 2030. You need better evidence about what to do next Monday. The Fight You Keep Having Isn't About What You Think

Most couples aren't stuck because they lack communication skills. They're stuck because they're having the same conversation on repeat, just wearing a different outfit each time. Money one week, parenting the next, who forgot to handle something the week after that. Different topic, same fight. In this episode, we explore why certain conflicts never fully resolve, no matter how many times a couple tries to talk it out, and what's actually happening underneath them. We look at the gap between being able to navigate hard conversations professionally and going silent or shutting down in the conversation that matters most at home. And we talk about why the answer usually isn't a better argument or a smarter fix, it's learning to recognize the pattern itself. If you've ever felt capable everywhere except in your closest relationship, this conversation will help you see what's really going on underneath the repeat fight, and why naming the pattern is often the first real step toward getting unstuck, together. Afraid AI Could Replace You? Start Here.

Are you worried that artificial intelligence could replace your job or change your career faster than you can adapt? Don’t start with panic. Start with evidence and a plan. Licensed clinical professional counselor and Coach Shervon Laurice offers a practical framework for workers and experienced professionals concerned about AI job displacement, changing job responsibilities, automation and the pressure to continuously upskill. Rather than promising that “everything will be fine,” this video shows you how to examine what is actually changing in your work and begin building an adaptation strategy. In this video: • How to identify exactly what you’re afraid AI may change • Why headlines shouldn’t become your personal career forecast • How to break your job into tasks and assess potential AI exposure • How to distinguish automation from AI-assisted work • How to identify where your professional value may be moving • Why you don’t need to “learn AI” you need to learn the AI capabilities relevant to your work • How to run a small AI experiment using a task you already understand • How to avoid “adaptability panic” and unfocused upskilling • Why you should create both an adaptation plan and a mobility plan • A practical 30-day starting plan Pew Research Center found that 52% of U.S. workers surveyed were worried about future AI use in the workplace, and 32% believed AI would result in fewer job opportunities for them over the long term. More recent 2026 research from ETS, based on more than 15,000 U.S. adults across all 50 states and Washington, D.C., found that 78% of U.S. workers agreed that job security no longer exists without continuous adaptation, while 85% said upskilling or reskilling is necessary. Broad workforce statistics cannot predict what will happen to your individual job. Your strongest starting point is understanding: YOUR ACTUAL WORK. YOUR ACTUAL SKILLS. YOUR ACTUAL EXPOSURE. YOUR ACTUAL OPTIONS. AI may change your work, your role or even your career. Change is not the same thing as helplessness. Start with reality. Then make the next decision. It's About Time: A Boxer's Lesson on Grief, Faith, and Getting Unstuck

What does a Golden Gloves champion know about grief that most of us spend a lifetime avoiding? In this episode of The Expansion Room, we sit down with author Mark Connor, whose life moves from the boxing rings of Saint Paul, where he became the Upper Midwest Golden Gloves lightweight champion at seventeen, to the quiet devastation of losing both parents, and the Catholic faith that held the space in between. Mark's book, "It's About Time," weaves together family, cultural identity, and the search for meaning through story and poetry, and this conversation goes even deeper into the discipline, loss, and reckoning behind the pages. This episode is about the gap between knowing and doing. It's about the procrastination that masquerades as "not being ready," the grief that reorganizes your entire relationship to time, and what it actually takes to stop waiting for permission to live. We talk about how physical discipline built in the ring can become a template for spiritual endurance, how faith holds pain without erasing it, and why the things we survive don't have to define us forever. If you've been circling the same unfinished thing for months, or years, telling yourself you'll get to it "when the time is right," this episode is your nudge. Time doesn't wait for readiness. Neither should you. This is a conversation about getting unstuck: from grief, from fear, from the stories that keep us waiting instead of living. In this episode: - How boxing discipline became a doorway to spiritual growth - What losing both parents taught Mark about the illusion of time - The role Catholic faith played in processing grief without bypassing it - Why procrastination is often fear in disguise, not laziness - The Sovereignty Shift: Energy Before Action, and how commitment creates momentum before motivation ever shows up - One concrete step you can take today toward the thing you've been avoiding If this episode moves something in you, that quiet nudge that says "I know what I've been putting off," let it be enough. If AI Can Do Part of Your Job, What Are You Worth?

If artificial intelligence can perform part of your job faster than you can, does that make you less Valuable? For many experienced professionals, AI is raising a question deeper than job security: If technology can perform some of the work that helped establish my expertise, where does my professional value go next? Licensed clinical professional counselor and Coach Shervon Laurice examines the relationship between AI, work and professional identity and why your value should not be confused with a single task you currently perform. In this video: • Why AI can challenge professional identity as well as job security • The difference between a job task and professional value • How automation can change the meaning people attach to expertise • Four layers of professional value: execution, judgment, context and human consequence • Why human judgment and AI capability can become complementary rather than automatically competitive • Why “What can AI never replace?” may be the wrong question • How to build a personal AI-era Value Inventory • How experienced professionals can identify where their value may be moving The World Economic Forum’s Future of Jobs Report 2025 estimated that 39% of workers’ existing skill sets will be transformed or become outdated between 2025 and 2030. At the same time, the report identifies analytical thinking as the most sought-after core skill among employers and highlights resilience, flexibility, agility and leadership alongside rapidly growing technological skills such as AI and big data. The implication isn’t that human professional value is disappearing. It is that the combination of skills employers value is changing. Artificial intelligence may reduce the value of certain tasks, significantly change some roles and create new demands for workers. No one can responsibly guarantee which professions or tasks will remain unchanged. A more useful question is: WHERE DOES MY VALUE MOVE AS AI BECOMES MORE CAPABLE? Your professional identity doesn’t have to depend entirely on performing the same tasks forever. Adaptation begins by understanding what is changing, what remains valuable, what may become more valuable and what you need to learn next. WATCH NEXT: Afraid AI Could Replace You? Start Here. Prevent Burnout: Energy Management, Not Time Management

What if burnout isn’t a scheduling problem but a signal your nervous system has been sending you for months? In this episode, former systems engineer and Director of Performance Improvement Chris Vasiliadis shares how a multiple sclerosis diagnosis rewired her entire relationship with energy, mindfulness, and what it means to be well. Drawing on her background in human performance and her own health journey, Chris walks through how to recognize the early signs of nervous system dysregulation before they become full burnout, how to regulate in real time using practical mindfulness tools, and how to align daily energy with what actually matters instead of what feels urgent. This conversation challenges the belief that chronic exhaustion is the price of success, and offers a grounded alternative: empowered energy that honors your humanness and adapts to your current season of life. Whether you’re an entrepreneur or high-functioning professional who feels stretched thin, this episode offers a new lens for getting unstuck from hustle culture and reconnecting with sustainable, energized living. Want to learn more about Chris’s offerings? Check out her website: https://prioritywellness.com —- Chapters 00:09 – Introduction: Burnout Is an Energy Problem, Not a Time Problem. AI Anxiety at Work: What’s Happening to Us Psychologically?

Artificial intelligence is changing the workplace but the transition isn’t only technological. For many workers, it’s psychological. If you’ve been feeling anxious, overwhelmed, uncertain about your job, or worried about falling behind as AI becomes more common at work, this conversation is for you. Licensed clinical professional counselor and Coach Shervon Laurice explores the human side of AI workplace change: why uncertainty about artificial intelligence can affect our sense of professional identity, competence, security and value and how to respond without denial or catastrophizing. In this video: • Why AI-related workplace uncertainty can feel so personal • The difference between legitimate concern and assuming the worst • Why professional identity can become connected to the work we perform • How rapid workplace change can leave people feeling less relevant or left behind • Three questions for turning AI anxiety into useful information • Why “Where does my value move?” may be a better question than “What can AI never replace?” • How deliberate adaptation can restore a sense of agency Research from Pew Research Center found that 52% of U.S. workers said they were worried about future AI use in the workplace. Thirty-three percent said they felt overwhelmed, while 36% said they felt hopeful. Those numbers don’t mean every worker will experience AI-related anxiety or that AI will eliminate someone’s job. They do demonstrate that workplace concern about AI exists at substantial scale. “AI anxiety” is used here as an everyday description of these concerns not as a psychiatric Diagnosis. The goal of this conversation is to understand what you’re experiencing, separate evidence from prediction, and make your next professional decision from greater clarity.
