14 - Called By Faith, Left For Dead

In the early 1980s, two Catholic priests vanished under chillingly similar circumstances—hundreds of miles apart, yet bound together by unanswered questions. On August 5, 1982, Father Reynaldo Rivera was called away from the Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi in Santa Fe, New Mexico, to perform last rites for a dying man. He never returned. Days later, his body was discovered near a highway rest stop—shot, strangled, and left in the mud. Two years later, in July 1984, Father John Patrick Kerrigan disappeared in Ronan, Montana, just days after arriving at his new parish. Bloodied clothing, a coat hanger, and his abandoned vehicle were found—but Kerrigan himself was never seen again. Were these murders connected? Was someone targeting priests? Or were these crimes rooted in something far more personal and disturbing? In this episode, we dig eight feet under into the mysterious deaths and disappearances of Father Reynaldo Rivera and Father John Kerrigan—examining timelines, crime scene parallels, investigative theories, and revelations that surfaced decades later. Featured together on Unsolved Mysteries, these cases remain cold, controversial, and deeply unsettling. No ads. No music. Just the facts, the questions, and the silence left behind. Shovels up. This one still hasn’t been laid to rest. Instagram Description (Short) Two priests. Two states. Two decades of unanswered questions. One was murdered after answering a call for last rites. 13 - Night of The Student Nurses Massacre: The Richard Speck Story

On the night of July 13, 1966, eight young student nurses were terrorized inside their Chicago townhouse by a man who refused to leave. By morning, eight lives were gone—and one woman survived by hiding beneath a bed, listening as each murder unfolded. This episode dives deep into the crimes of Richard Speck, a drifter whose brutal rampage shocked the nation and forever changed how America viewed violent crime. We walk through the timeline of that night in South Deering, the investigation that followed, the trial, and the controversial theories that emerged afterward—including the long-debunked claim that Speck’s genetics made him violent. This is not a story told for shock value. It’s the story of eight women whose lives were stolen, one survivor who lived with the weight of what she witnessed, and a crime that still echoes through true-crime history.
