Dr. Kasie Whitener: Beyond the Two-Party System, Personal Freedom & Community

What happens when you stop waiting on the government and start building something for your community? Dr. Kasie Whitener, South Carolina’s Libertarian candidate for U.S. Senate in 2026, joins Sadarro Chisholm on The Dap and a Hug Podcast to discuss personal freedom, political accountability, and why she believes voters deserve more choices. We explore the pressures of the 40-hour workweek, the time parents lose with their children, and the obstacles entrepreneurs face when trying to build a business. Kasie explains her views on third-party ballot access, cannabis legalization, healthcare competition, small-business taxes, and addressing the national debt. The conversation also comes back to what we can do close to home: exchange skills, grow food, support local businesses, and create stronger relationships with our neighbors. A shared connection through Victory Gardens brings that message full circle. Whether you have a political home or feel unrepresented, this episode offers a chance to hear Kasie’s perspective and consider the questions for yourself. Jimmy “Moose” Wallace: Football, Leadership & Building Young Men

Longtime football coach Jimmy “Moose” Wallace joins The Dap and A Hug Podcast for a wide-ranging conversation about football, leadership, accountability, mentorship, adversity, and developing young men beyond the game. Coach Wallace spent more than two decades as Northwestern High School’s head football coach, also coached at Lewisville, York, and Rock Hill, and has been recognized through multiple halls of fame for his impact on athletics and coaching in South Carolina. Though retired from head coaching, he remains involved around the Northwestern football program and continues to support young athletes. In this conversation, Coach Wallace reflects on the coaches and mentors who shaped him and shares his philosophy on building a positive team culture through discipline, fundamentals, academics, accountability, teamwork, and genuine relationships. We talk about peer pressure and choosing the right people to surround yourself with, learning how to respond after a loss, controlling emotion, being coachable, and why young athletes need to understand that the habits they build today can shape where they end up tomorrow. Coach also shares his thoughts on NIL, the transfer portal, the changing landscape of college football, and why education remains so important for athletes long after their playing days are over. The conversation also brings back plenty of Northwestern football memories — practices, state championship runs, Trojan traditions, Coach Wofford and the current program, and the people who helped shape the culture surrounding Northwestern football. Ultimately, this episode is about much more than wins and losses. It’s about preparing young people to handle responsibility, adversity, relationships, and life. Win or learn.  Follow Northwestern Trojans Football: Instagram: @nhsfbtrojans Facebook: Northwestern Trojans Football Peace and Love at The Dap and A Hug
