Plot Twist: Still Alive

Plot Twist Still Alive is a refreshingly vulnerable side to so many different stories of the “real” stuff we all go through. Whether you have experienced trauma, addiction, illness, or even some crazy vacations that when you look back on were some of the best vacations ever. Krystal is a natural as a host. She is unapologetically herself. I even appreciate the dark humor because in so many of these stories if you can’t laugh you’ll cry. If you need something refreshingly real give this podcast a listen.

A local friend recommended this and I gave it a real shot. I wish I hadn’t. The host has a gift, just not the one she thinks. She has a remarkable talent for taking a guest’s story and somehow rerouting it back to herself. Every. Single. Episode. You came to hear from an interesting guest? Give it five minutes and you’ll be hearing about the host’s feelings about the guest’s story. There’s a word for that, and it’s not “empathy.” The trauma being spotlighted here is, let’s be honest, pretty standard-issue human struggle. Divorce. Cancer. Addiction. Losing someone you love. Toxic people. Narcissistic survival. These things are real and they hurt, but the show frames them like we’re watching someone survive a war zone. The sensationalism doesn’t honor the guests, it exploits them for content. The profanity is constant and, unlike some shows where it feels natural, here it just feels like a personality substitute. She’s absolutely free to drop the f-bomb every thirty seconds on her own platform. And I’m absolutely free to call that a choice that says more about her than she realizes. She thinks she’s real and funny. Plot Twist: She’s not. Then there’s the four-part series about her ex. FOUR PARTS. And she admits she has children with this man. I kept thinking, “How sad this is the narrative they have to hear about their father.” This tells me all I need to know about her. At some point you have to wonder, who’s actually the difficult one in that story? The editing chair is a powerful thing, and dedicating that much airtime to dismantling one person isn’t healing. It’s a one-sided courtroom with no defense attorney. If you’re looking for a host with genuine curiosity about other people, look elsewhere. If you want a 1 hr per episode crash course in how a small-town, mostly middle-class experience gets dressed up as profound suffering, with a massive side of unresolved personal drama, then this is your show. Some people need a podcast. Some people need to realize they’re actually the problem. This host would benefit from seeking professional help for her own narcissistic personality disorder.

There is always two sides of the story . In you podcasts , seems like all you want is to tell your side of the story . Women always play the victim, and want every one to feel sorry for them . Gave you ever realized, May be snd just may be how were you behaving in your relationships . If this is the podcast to get audience in, you are doing a good job. But in reality, they poor man on the other side can’t defend himself, he should have a say do to defend himself. May be he should start a podcast like yours to talk what kind of BS you had and what kind of wife you were to him . Either you are hurt because of your behaviors or you still love the man . I stand for ALL THE MEN WHO CANT DEFRND THEMSELVES AGAINST ALL THE WOMEN LIKE YOU .
