Listen, Honey! I’ve been busy and stressed and Lucy has been sick!

Listen, Honey! It’s far too long to have waited without a good catch up episode so we’re back at the house this week. But don’t worry! I’ve been recording some fun interviews for the podcast the last two weeks, so all this busy is going to amount to something good. I told y’all last time that I was hoping for a quiet snuggle-time Valentine’s Day (which is mine and Dylan’s anniversary) with my Cheesecake Factory while Lucy slept. Well, it all happened the way I’d hoped.  BUT … We woke up the next day and Lucy was runnin’ a fever. We’ll catch up with that on the episode.  But I was able to go to the  Bulls, Bands and Barrels event and interview their CEO Hunter Price and rodeo star Wyatt Riddle. Both of those episodes are coming soon and wound up being way funnier and fun than I thought they might be, so look out for those! I’m also stressed that I’ve got a beach trip coming up and haven’t planned enough. I also figured out this week I can’t bake a cake when I’m wound up about all this other stuff.  And I’m trying real hard not to jump back on the point that I need a camper. I have come to the realization, though that I don’t need it right now. But on June 13 I’m heading to Wise, Va., for the Kentucky-Virginia District Fair. Then I’ll be at the Master Musicians Festival in Somerset, Ky., in July. And then in October, I’ll be in Pikeville, Ky., for the Mountain Grrl Experience. So this camper situation is going to have to fix itself soon. You probably already know that I asked y’all to tell me some gossip or ask questions before I recorded this episode, so I get into your contributions toward the end, here. But I do thank you for watching and listening and sending in your stories and questions. I do love a good catch up episode. So here’s one! Oh, and don’t forget to Amble. They’re helping me on my weight loss journey and y’all know I’ve lost a bunch of weight, right? Sign up and join the journey at joinamble.com.  Listen, Honey! Listen, Honey! LilyLouTay (Hannah Taylor) and I cooked up a great episode!

Listen, Honey! One of my online and offline besties Hannah Taylor drove eight hours from South Georgia to join me in Nashville to record an episode of the podcast. You may know her as @lilyloutay, the New York Times bestselling author of Measure With Your Heart, an amazing cookbook that makes her DE-licious Southern recipes part of your recipe archive, too.  Y’all?! My girl was on The Today Show for this book! She’s famous! Hannah lives in a lake house with her husband James (yes, James Taylor, but not that James Taylor) and her three children, plus a zoo’s worth of animals. She’s as laid back and even keel as a person can be so I wanted her to share that vibe with all of y’all. We talked about cooking and recipes, of course, but we also went deep into camping, children, family travel, hurricanes, home birth and a lot more. Hannah gets a little emotional talking about her husband and her kids, so we had a moment or two during the episode. Listening to her talk about him just made us both well up inside. But I know you’ll appreciate those moments as much as the ones where we laughed about everything from mayonnaise to vasectomies.  This was such a fun conversation and I know you’ll come away from this loving Hannah as much as I do. This was the last of our first round of Nashville interviews and I can’t wait to go back.  And don’t forget  Amble. They’re helping me on my weight loss journey and y’all know I’ve lost a bunch of weight, right? Listen, Honey! We’re back at the house, but I want a camper!

Listen, Honey! We’re back at the house for another catch-up episode of the podcast. Snowmageddon is over (can I get an “Amen!’) and we’re thawing out. We had one day that got into the 60s this week and, honey, I am ready for summer NOW! All that anticipation got me looking at my calendar and y’all have been inviting me to some events. June 13 I’m heading to Wise, Va., for the Kentucky-Virginia District Fair. July 17-18 I’ll be at the Master Musicians Festival in Somerset, Ky. And then in October, I can’t wait to go to Pikeville, Ky., for the Mountain Grrl Experience.  Now all that thinking about events and travel has me hyper-fixated. Honey, I want a camper. Let me just tell you this, honey: I’m gettin’ a damn camper. I have to have one. I hate staying at AirBnBs … y’all know I prefer KOA Campgrounds … but I just need a camper.  If I had one, we could stay at the campground this coming weekend at the Bulls, Bands and Barrells event at the Kentucky Horse Park I’ll be going to in Lexington. (I’ll be recording an episode there for the podcast, too, so stay tuned.)  This coming weekend (when I’m recording) will be Valentine’s Day and that’s mine and Dylan’s anniversary, too. We’re doing an AIrBnB Friday night since we’re going up for the Bulls, Bands and Barrels event. If we had the camper, though, we could stay at the Horsepark campground.  I also want a puppy for Lucy, but with campers and puppies and Dylan’s Hummer he wants, we’re just going to give it all to the Lord. Another thing I talk about on this episode is that when we get back from the weekend and shopping and such, I have got to get back on track with my GLP-1 journey. I’ve got a beach trip planned. Now, me and Dylan have been getting it together. We’re doing to the gym together now which, praise God for Momma keeping Lucy a couple days a week so we can. It’s a blessing to have some time with just Dylan but I’m sore as all get out. Leg day wasn’t good to me this week! But I’m getting reset with my Bluegrass Precision Wellness supplements and plan. You should definitely check them out if you’re looking for help on your journey.  I”m going to get back on track because I’m going to have a fun summer. And, by gawd, Momma wants a camper. If you want me to help promote an event or something that will help pay for it, just email me! (lifeofkatieann - @ - gmail - dot - com).  I love yoins. Oh, and don’t forget to Amble. Listen, Honey! We are at The House! For the Podcast and Snowmagedon

Listen, Honey! We are at the house for this episode. I’m telling y’all, I’ve done set up a home studio so we can do more podcast episodes. Now, I don’t know what I’m doing, so these first few from my new home studio aren’t going to win any awards for movie making, but honey, we’re going to do some more catching up, more often now. The worst part was I was trying to set all this up with a day or two left before Kentucky got struck by Snowmagedon 2026. Oh, we got snowed in, but it wasn’t no 14-inches like they were calling for. Still, I had to go back and forth to Best Buy an hour away as the weather was threatening to start. (They’re the closest store where I can get cords and equipment and such.) We made it back in time to get snowed in which about drove me crazy. Isn’t that how it always is? Two or three days and cabin fever sets in.  But we made it out, got our crispy Coke Zero and McDonalds and survived.  I’m so excited the Danae Hays episode is out there and honey, we’ve got some more doozies from our Nashville trip coming up, too. Make sure you are subscribed to the podcast on YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts and wherever else you can so you don’t miss ‘em. We’ve got Andi Marie Tillman and Hannah Taylor coming up and both of those conversations were so much fun.  I’m going to do my best to get you weekly episodes now that I can film these shorter, solo ones at home. I’m sure my producer is thrilled to have twice the work, right Jason?  I love yoins. Oh, and don’t forget to Amble. Listen, Honey! Danae Hays and I Talk Everything From Trucks to T*tties and Snake Churches to Scripture

Listen, Honey! I told you all I had some good episodes coming for you from our visit to Nashville recently. Well, strap yourself in for the first of them because in this episode of Listen, Honey! I go deep with the hysterically funny Danae Hays.  She is a side-splitting comedian who is going out on tour again this year. She’s playing the Ryman Auditorium in March and I may have to reschedule my birthday beach vacation to go. Why? Because if this conversation was any judge, I’m going to have to see how many people will actually pee themselves in Ryman pews listening to her stories. Danae and I talked about everything from trucks to t*****s and snake churches to scripture. She just recently had a bad experience with mold in a rental home and reconnected with her mom and sister after not speaking to them for seven years. SEVEN YEARS, y’all!  So we dug into a lot more than just funny stories. Still, Danae brings a sense of humor to everything so even the reality of life is funny coming from her. She also brings a smile everyone’s face which is why you’re going to love this episode.  And if you listen close enough, you can again hear Landon Mauk (@landon.mauk) and Riley Mitchell (@rileygmitchell) in the background. I’m so excited for them. Their new podcast cracked the Apple Top 100 right out of the gate and my episode there is coming soon. (We’ll make sure to share it on this YouTube channel. Don’t worry. You’ll see it.) It’s called Bloodline Banter (@bloodlinebanterofficial). But buckle up for this conversation with Danae Hays. You can find her, tickets to her shows and a lot more at danaehays.com. She’s on TikTok at @danaehays.  Don’t forget to Amble. They’re helping me on my weight loss journey and y’all know I’ve lost a bunch of weight, right? Listen, Honey! I Tore Nashville Up So Some Fun Episodes Are Comin’!

Listen, Honey! I have arrived, y’all! I recently spent several days in Nashville experiencing Music City for the first time. As y’all probably saw on TikTok and Instagram and other places, I was recording future episodes of Listen, Honey!, as well as one other surprise episode of a brand new podcast I’ll tell y’all about in a second. But first, let me tell you, I loved Nashville! Now, I don’t think I could live there. Too many streets. Too many cars. Too many lights. But y’all, I got to hang out with so many creative and fun people it just gave me all kinds of ideas and energy and inspiration. I can tell you one thing: I will be going back on the regular. So, I can’t wait for y’all to see the next few episodes of the podcast. We interviewed my pal Hannah Taylor (a/k/a @lilyloutay), Appalachian character goddess Andi Marie Tillman (@andimarie) and the hysterical Denae Hays (@denaehays). We laughed so hard we all probably pulled something, y’all. Those episodes are coming up in the next few weeks here. But I also hung with my besties Landon Mauk (@landon.mauk) and Riley Mitchell (@rileygmitchell) who had me as a guest on their brand new podcast (just announced last week and premiering later this month). It’s called Bloodline Banter (@bloodlinebanterofficial) and you have to go subscribe! My episode was fun, but those two are pieces of work and funny as all get out. It’s a must-watch. So check out this episode as I not only preview a tease out a little of what’s coming, but I talk about Nashville and you can even hear Landon and Riley asking me questions and stuff in the background. Oh, and I mentioned joining Amble. They’re helping me on my weight loss journey and y’all know I’ve lost a bunch of weight, right? Sign up and join the journey at joinamble.com.  Big shout out to The Cast Collective in Nashville for their studio and production team’s help pulling all this together. They produce Bloodline Banter and are now my Nashville home away from home for the podcast. Their founder and CEO Erin is a badass boss with a cute-ass dog (Stewart) who makes an appearance in the episode, too! Listen, Honey! Is produced by Jason Falls at Falls+Partners. Listen, Honey! Tanner Horton from The Creekers is in the house!

Listen, Honey! Y’all know one of my favorite things this past year was going to hear my buddies The Creekers play live! If you don’t know, The Creekers are a country and bluegrass band from just over the hill in Leslie County, Kentucky. They blew up this summer on TikTok when their song “Tennessee” took off as a viral sound clip. And it led them all the way to a big-time record deal with Warner Records. I met Tanner Horton, Allen Hacker, Ashton and Jagger Bowling, Scott Sutton and the fabulous Anna Blanton first at Manchester Music Hall in Lexington, but then followed them around to a half dozen or so shows. Hell, they even came and played for my Daddy at his house. Needless to say, they’re the biggest thing to come out of Eastern Kentucky since coal, and I’m here for it. I talked Tanner Horton, one of the band’s founders, songwriters, singers and guitar pickers, to join me for an episode of the podcast the day he and the band were playing two shows at The Burl, a legendary live music joint in Lexington, Kentucky, back in late December.  And listen honey! We talked about everything! The band, the record deal, our favorite Appalachian artists, guitars, mules, dogs, Lynyrd Skynyrd, building fences, planting taters, our mutual fear of flying, soup beans versus chicken dumplings. Y’all are going to come out on the other side of this episode in overalls and needin’ a bath.  The Creekers may have blown up in 2025, but you just wait for 2026. That first big record with Warner Records is due to come out and Tanner told me they won’t be doing many shows in Kentucky because they’re basically going to be touring everywhere else. I can’t wait to see how big they get and how much they accomplish. I’m so proud of my hillbilly besties. Give this a listen. Y’all will love it as much as I love y’all! Listen, Honey!
