Lake Bodom Murders: Finland’s Most Chilling Unsolved Triple Homicide

Four teenagers. One tent. Three brutal murders. And a mystery that has haunted Finland for more than six decades. This week on The Paranormal Divide, Alana takes us across the Atlantic to Lake Bodom, Finland, where an ordinary summer camping trip in June 1960 turned into one of the country's most infamous unsolved murder cases. Four teenagers headed out for a night by the lake, but by morning, three were dead and one had survived a horrific attack. What happened inside and around that tent remains a mystery, despite decades of investigation, multiple suspects, and a case that would eventually take a shocking turn when the sole survivor himself was accused of the murders. We'll explore the events of that fateful night, the disturbing evidence left behind, the suspicious circumstances surrounding the crime scene, and the competing theories that have kept investigators and true crime enthusiasts questioning what really happened. Who attacked these teenagers while they slept? Why were certain belongings missing? And could the truth have been hiding in plain sight all along? Join us as Alana unpacks the Lake Bodom murders, a case where the only surviving witness was also the man who would eventually find himself on trial. Because sometimes the most chilling mysteries aren't the ones without suspects. They're the ones where nobody can prove who did it. Tune in, and let us know what YOU think happened at Lake Bodom. 🔎 Music by Albert Behar

The Alpine Divorce: Kerstin Gurtner & the Grossglockner Mystery

On January 18, 2025, Kerstin Gurtner and her boyfriend Thomas Plamberger set out on a winter ascent of Austria’s highest mountain, the Grossglockner. By the following morning, Kerstin was dead, just 50 meters from the summit. At first glance, it could be a horrific mountaineering accident. But the deeper you go into what happened that night, the more questions begin to emerge. In this episode, SherRee takes a deep dive into the Kerstin Gurtner case, unpacking the details that may have never made it into the headlines. We’ll follow the couple’s climb, examine the timeline of their final hours on the mountain, look at the equipment they had with them, the changing weather conditions, rescue efforts, phone calls, messages, and the evidence investigators uncovered afterward. We’ll also get into the details surrounding the Grossglockner webcams, Kerstin’s physical condition, the decisions made as the situation deteriorated, and the questions surrounding why help wasn’t called sooner. Was this a devastating chain of bad decisions in an unforgiving environment… or was there something more sinister happening on that mountain? The case eventually made its way into an Austrian courtroom, where Thomas Plamberger was convicted of grossly negligent manslaughter and received a suspended sentence and fine. But even with a verdict, there are still plenty of details worth examining. So grab your favorite blanket, because we’re heading into the Austrian Alps for one of the most haunting and complicated cases we’ve covered yet. Freak accident or something more? You decide. Weird & Creepy 911 Calls: Pender County & The Weepy Voiced Killer | Part 1

Sometimes you call 911 because you need help. Sometimes… you call 911 because you just witnessed something you absolutely cannot explain. In Part 1 of our Weird & Creepy 911 Calls series, Alana takes the research reins and brings us two calls that are creepy for VERY different reasons. First, we head to Pender County, North Carolina, where a late night 911 call begins with a man reporting what appears to be a bloody person on the side of the road. Then something lands in the bed of his moving truck, and suddenly we get the now infamous “That’s not human” call. The recording is real, the caller was genuinely distressed, and what exactly he encountered that night is still up for debate. Then we take a much darker turn with the infamous Weepy Voiced Killer. In the early 1980s, serial killer Paul Michael Stephani made a series of bizarre, emotional calls to police after attacking and murdering women. His strange, sobbing voice earned him his nickname, and hearing the actual calls makes it painfully obvious why they have stuck with people for decades. One call leaves us wondering, “What the hell was in that truck?” The other leaves us wondering, “WHY WOULD YOU CALL 911 AND CONFESS?!” So grab your headphones, turn the lights down, and join us for Part 1 of Weird & Creepy 911 Calls. As always, we’re bringing you the facts, the theories, and probably a few questionable reactions along the way. 👻📞 Content warning: This episode discusses violent crimes, murder, and disturbing real 911 recordings. Listener discretion is advised. Music by Albert Behar
