    Gospel of John 7:37-44

Spiritual Arms: Five Minutes for the Battle The holy water font. The Sign of the Cross. The prayers before bed. These familiar practices can become routine...but each offers a chance to remember God’s grace. On Spiritual Arms, Joshua Correa explores how Baptism frees us from sin and calls us to walk in newness of life. Don’t just go through the motions. Remember the gift you’ve been given! Revised Standard Version (RSV) translation New Testament: • John 7:37-44 • Romans 6:3-6 Old Testament: • Jeremiah 17:13 • Ezekiel 36:25-27 Catechism of the Catholic Church: • Paragraph 1999 • Paragraph 1287 Takeaways: • Baptism gives us new life in Christ. Through Baptism, we are united with Jesus in His death and Resurrection, freed from sin, and called to live a new life with God. • Remember your Baptism daily. When making the Sign of the Cross or using holy water, reflect on the gift of being cleansed from sin and welcomed into God’s family. • Make it a family tradition. If you have children, consider blessing them with holy water before bed as a simple way to remind your family of the grace and promises of Baptism. Gospel of John 6:26-69

Spiritual Arms: Five Minutes for the Battle 🍞 Manna sustained the Israelites in the desert. Jesus offers us something infinitely greater: Himself. Jesus Christ tells us, “I am the Bread of Life,” 🥖 and He means far more than a figure of speech. In this slightly longer-than-usual episode of Spiritual Arms: 5 Minutes for the Battle, Harrison Parsons explores the biblical roots of the Eucharist and why Holy Communion is at the heart of our union with Christ. It's a few extra minutes of listening, but a lifetime's worth of spiritual nourishment. Are you ready to receive the Bread of Life? The next time you approach Holy Communion, remember: you're not receiving just a gift. You're receiving the Giver Himself. 🙏 New American Bible Revised Edition (NABRE) translation New Testament: • John 6:26-69 Old Testament: • Exodus 16:2-6 • Genesis 9:4-6 • Leviticus 17:10-14 • Deuteronomy 12:23-27 Catechism of the Catholic Church: • Paragraph 1391 Takeaways: • Jesus reveals Himself as the Bread of Life, fulfilling God’s promise to provide the true Bread from Heaven through His Body and Blood in the Eucharist. • The Jews were shocked by Jesus’ teaching because God’s law forbade drinking blood. Yet Jesus repeatedly emphasizes that His Body is true food and His Blood is true drink, inviting us to believe in His Real Presence in the Eucharist. • Reflect on Jesus’ words in John 6: Do you truly believe that Christ is present in the Blessed Sacrament at every Mass? Remember that through Holy Communion, we are united with Him, and He abides in us. • Make time to visit Jesus in Eucharistic Adoration. In the midst of life’s busyness, spend time in His presence through silent prayer and thank Him for the gift of eternal life. Through the healing of the man who suffered for 38 years, Harrison Parsons (in his Spiritual Arms debut) explores how Jesus brings hope to the suffering and mercy to the sinner. Whatever burden you’re carrying, Christ is calling you to trust Him, receive His grace, and walk in new life. New American Bible Revised Edition (NABRE) translation New Testament: • John 5:2-9 • John 5:14 Old Testament: • Isaiah 25:1-6 • Isaiah 42:6-7 • Isaiah 42:16 Catechism of the Catholic Church: • Paragraph 1500-1501 • Paragraph 1440 • Paragraph 1443 Takeaways: • Jesus fulfilled Isaiah’s prophecy by healing the sick and restoring the suffering. Whatever suffering we face, we can turn to Jesus and trust in His love. • Don’t let sin keep you from God’s mercy. Through His Cross and Resurrection, Jesus offers forgiveness and freedom. Gospel of John 4:5-15

Spiritual Arms: Five Minutes for the Battle We chase wealth, pleasure, power, honor...and somehow we're still thirsty. Why? Spiritual Arms explores Jesus' encounter with the woman at the well and His invitation to leave behind the broken cisterns of the world and drink from the fountain of living water. And we are not the only ones who thirst — the Catechism reminds us that God also thirsts for us! Discover what happens when God's thirst meets ours. Gospel of John 3:1-15

Spiritual Arms: Five Minutes for the Battle Why do Catholics keep crucifixes in our churches and wear them around our necks? The answer goes far beyond tradition. Spiritual Arms explores how the crucifix reminds us of the price of our salvation...and the Resurrection that follows the Cross. We love the empty tomb...but we cannot forget the Cross — the price Jesus paid for our redemption, and the new life we receive through Him. Revised Standard Version (RSV) translation New Testament: • John 3:1-15 • Romans 6:3-6 • 1 Peter 3:20-22 • 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 Old Testament: • Ezekiel 36:25-27 • Numbers 21:6-9 Catechism of the Catholic Church: • Paragraph 1257 • Paragraph 2130 • Paragraph 2669 Takeaways: • Baptism unites us to Jesus’ death and Resurrection. Through Baptism, we die to our old life of sin and are given new life in Christ. • The Cross is at the heart of our salvation. The crucifix reminds us of the price Jesus paid for us and that we belong to God. • The Resurrection comes through the Cross. We cannot separate the glory of Easter from the suffering and sacrifice of Jesus. • Take time to look at a crucifix and reflect on Jesus’ love...He willingly went to the Cross to redeem you and the world. Gospel of John 2:1-11

Spiritual Arms: Five Minutes for the Battle Saint Mary’s role is simple: lead us to Jesus. When the wine ran out at Cana, Mary didn’t panic...she turned to Jesus. When something runs out in your life, where do you turn? Jesus is the Light of the World — but what happens when we’d rather keep certain parts of our lives in the dark? In the Season 3 premiere, Joshua Correa explores Jesus as the Word made flesh, our Light and Life, and invites us to let His merciful light reach the places we’d rather hide. He already knows. He’s simply waiting for us to turn toward Him.
