Episode 73 - Summer of Recap No. 4 | Strawberry Basil Lemon Drop Martini

We have another stop in our throwback series, and of course we couldn’t leave without revisiting Gertrude’s Revenge. Ragan and Shaylea jump back into one of their early real estate stories, revisit the infamous Gertrude, and—most importantly—share an update on where things stand today. Along the way, the conversation takes a few very Cocktail Characters detours, including Shaylea’s brief career as a softball coach and a trip down memory lane with some of the ROUGHEST real estate consultations they’ve experienced. Original stories, current-day perspective, a Gertrude update we didn’t have the first time around, and plenty of moments that make us wonder how some of these things actually happened. And, of course, there’s a brand-new cocktail waiting at the end. 🍸 00:00 - Gertrudes Revenge 15:25 - Shaylea was a softball coach 19:41 - An update on Gertrude 26:32 - ROUGH consults 33:16 - Cocktail Characters

Episode 72 - Summer of Recap No. 3 - Dumpster Fires and Standing Pants Only | Lavender Lemon Drop

We’re back with Part 3 of our recap series, and apparently the early days of Cocktail Characters were every bit as chaotic as we remember. This time, Ragan and Shaylea revisit Episode 3 and some truly dumpster-fire real estate consultations—the kind that make you question your career choices and give you stories to tell for years afterward. But first, there are “standing-only pants” that definitely require an explanation, a little nostalgia for the good ol’ days, and an honorable mention for the unforgettable Nurse Amaya. Original clips are mixed with present-day commentary as we look back at the stories, the people, and the things we apparently thought were perfectly normal to share on a brand-new podcast. And because some things have changed since Episode 3, we’re wrapping it all up with a brand-new cocktail. 00:00 - Intros 01:18 - The Good ol Days 05:38 - Shayleas "Standing only Pants" 07:05 - Nurse Amaya 09:07 - Dumpster Fires 35:00 - Cocktail Characters

Episode 71 - Summer of Recap Part 2 - Shin Filet: We Can Laugh Now | Vanilla Lemon Drop

Shin Filet: We Can Laugh Now Back for Part 2 of our recap series, Ragan and Shaylea revisit one of the wildest stories from the early days of Cocktail Characters—Shin Filet. What started as an unforgettable real estate showing quickly turned into one of the few times Shaylea genuinely feared for her safety. Looking back now, it's easier to laugh at some of the absurd moments... but there are still parts of this story that make us cringe. With original clips woven together alongside present-day commentary, we revisit what stood out, what we'd forgotten, and how differently we see the experience now compared to when we first hit "record." Whether you're hearing Shin Filet for the first time or reliving one of our earliest fan-favorite episodes, there's plenty of new conversation, fresh perspective, and—of course—a brand-new cocktail waiting for you at the end

Episode 70 - Back to the Beginning - Director's Cut | "The French Gimlet"

Every podcast has a beginning... and ours was a little chaotic, but so much fun! This week, Ragan and Shaylea kick off the first of a four-part recap series by revisiting Episode 1 of Cocktail Characters. Back then, the podcast centered around the unforgettable characters they met through real estate—and the unbelievable stories that came with them. Thanks to some creative editing by Gabe, this isn't just a replay. Original clips are woven together with present-day commentary as Ragan and Shaylea laugh, cringe, and reflect on what still stands out, what they've completely forgotten, and how much both they—and the podcast—have changed since recording that very first episode. From the infamous "sex worker" story to realizing just how quickly they dove into their personal lives, it's a fun trip back to where it all began—with a few behind-the-scenes thoughts. And to keep things fresh, they're mixing up a brand-new cocktail, so whether you're revisiting Episode 1 or hearing it for the first time, there's something new to enjoy along the way. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 00:00 - Ai is TAKING OVER! 01:18 - Recap Time! 04:48 - Episode 001 Shaylea Highlight 13:27 - Episode 001 Ragan Highlight 17:44 - Posers!.... kinda 19:09 - "Two Bathrooms" 34:05 - The First Cocktail! 38:43 - Cocktail Characters

Episode 69 - Can We Just Have a Drink? | Reposado Paloma

Alcohol seems to be having a cultural moment... or maybe a cultural identity crisis. This week, Ragan and Shaylea dive into the changing conversation around drinking. From the rise of the sober-curious movement and alcohol-free alternatives to the explosion of infused beverages and mocktails, they explore how our culture's relationship with alcohol has shifted over the last few years. This isn't a debate about whether people should or shouldn't drink. Instead, it's an honest conversation about moderation, personal choice, and why it sometimes feels like everything has become an all-or-nothing discussion. Whether you enjoy a craft cocktail, prefer a zero-proof drink, or are simply fascinated by how quickly culture changes, this episode is all about finding the middle ground. And naturally, there's a cocktail waiting for you at the end. ==================================== 00:00 - Intros 04:09 - Sober Culture Chat 10:00 - Elaboration station 19:26 - Cocktail Characters
