Down on the farm podcast brings people from all walks of life down to the farm for an open chat about their passions, goals, life lessons, advice amongst many other things. Hosted by Henry Carpenter, a presenter and public speaker from Herefordshire who brings his own twist to questions and attempts to get a few laughs as well. The podcast is unique as Henry brings his guests into his own space which is the farm to open up to the listeners after his life changing accident on the farm where now he creates a new outlook.

    Sam faced challenges straight from early life. With him having kidney failure and all the complications that come with that, many that people wouldn't realise would which he shares with us in this episode. Sam strived through life in the most positive way he could many parts being hard for someone so young. Sam however was positive, learned, adapted and has now crossed another line in terms of achieving challenges. Becoming a worldwide documentary producer/director. Starting off working for other companies after getting a 1st in his degree. To launching his own documentary production business. He didn't want that to be the end of his story. Realising all of the lessons he learnt from earlier life and that message along with his documentarian knowledge could be put towards something a lot larger. So he set himself the challenge of cycling 10,000km across Europe and challenges along the way completely solo. Sam set out to do this in 2019 so covid sadly got in the way towards the end. However 'My only Antidote' the documentary Sam has produced about the expedition is still in the works and in this episode we hear all about the different aspects/stories he has to face while cycling the 8,500km he has already achieved.     From a semi rural background to NFU representative and agricultural ambassador| Nat Watkins| S4 EP2

    The greatest example of the future of young farmers we have come across! Nat Watkins grew up in a semi rural area having a great interest in farming and agriculture but no experience. Unlike most who have grown up in that environment. Nat followed his passion by working on farms from a young age, young farmers and Hartbury college/uni. Now he is an NFU student representative a big achievement for his level and has moved out to New Zealand to keep growing through the agri sector. Young farmers provides all these windows of opportunity such as Nat and he showcases ambition, determination and love for agricultural as well as how the industry can move forward which is discussed in the episode from machinery to job roles.     Sharing his MND journey, the struggles and how to create the positives | James Smith | S4EP1

    James Smith (better known as adapt with James) was diagnosed around 5 years ago with MND. Motor Neurone Disease is a muscle eating condition in which your body's nerve cells progressively get damaged leading to your brain losing the signal path to the muscles and overall function. Having to face this diagnosis with three small children and a supporting wife. Would be unthinkable for the majority of people (us included). During the episode James shares with us how he coped with the news, the ongoing MND struggles and how he showcases the condition to a wide audience online through his use of META Glasses and tech features. He also talks on how he tries to focus on the positives and finds new ways to tackle the condition. Through social media, local supportive groups and now this episode these vital lessons get shared with anyone struggling with an ongoing or new diagnoses.     S3 EP7 Jak Mason running 102km in 1 day for his best mate

    Jak Mason, already covering a fair few miles he is now going a step further. Jak in the past has done big challenges/events for charity after sadly losing his mum to cancer. Now a couple years down the line his best mate Liam was sadly attacked on a night out. Leaving Liam with life changing injuries. Jak being Jak didn't want to sit by his friends side offering no help, so he has decided to take on the mammoth challenge of running 102km in 1 day at Richmond park in Hinkley, Leicester on the 23rd May. To raise money for kit/support assisting Liam's recovery and make sure he has the best outcome possible. We hear all about Jak's story but also how he is preparing to take on the huge challenge.     Alex Pieri shares so many different aspects of being a young entrepreneur in a market. Alex has always been involved in property from a young age with his parents in the market. In his final year of uni he started and set up his own property development company. With very little cash flow and little/no experience he has worked hard to learn and adapt his business to grow it through the changing market. Now his brother has joined the team a joint director and Alex is working with high value clients but still has alot to progress, in the episode he reflects and teaches us about lessons he's learnt on the journey so far.     Sam Meese is a big inspiration in terms of outlook and discipline. Starting in the fitness industry with achieving black belt level 5 in Taekwondo at a very young age and getting trained as a PT/instructor. He has since thrown himself into a completely new market of Property with no experience while at the same time setting up his own Property deal sourcing business. So at his late 20's already having a stable and successful job in the fitness industry he has taken a risk in starting afresh with his own business. However Sam's mindset and discipline set in him from those early days in the fitness world have helped him grow and connect with lots of different people/communities in his first year of trading which he shares with the listeners. As well as his outlook on various topics within the food/nutrition industry.
