All Aboard the Nope Train: A Union Station Ghost Story

All aboard, babes! This week, we're heading to Ogden Union Station to explore its spooky history, the tragic Bagley train wreck, and the eerie lore surrounding the mysterious Lady in White. Between tragic history, unexplained encounters, and stories that might make you think twice about wandering around an old train station alone, we're diving into what makes this Utah landmark such a fascinating hotspot for ghost stories. And because apparently learning about ghosts wasn't enough, we're wrapping things up by interviewing potential paranormal employees. That's right: we're hiring a ghost. Because if you're going to have an unwanted supernatural roommate, you might as well make sure they have a decent résumé. So grab your favorite spooky-season beverage, keep an eye out for mysterious figures in white, and join us for a hauntingly good time. Just remember: if something whispers your name from an empty train platform, maybe don't answer it.  Resources: https://www.theogdenite.com/news/haunted-depot-ogden-union-station https://www.fox13now.com/community/halloween/is-ogdens-union-station-haunted-by-passengers-who-reached-the-end-of-the-line https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bagley_train_wreck https://www.standard.net/news/local/2014/dec/26/remembering-utahs-worst-train-wreck/ https://exhibits.weber.edu/s/SC50/page/train_wreck Love what you hear? Smell Ya Later: Dogs, Disease, & Questionable Sniff Tests

You know how your dog can sniff the same patch of grass for approximately 47 years? Turns out, that nose is doing a LOT more than we give it credit for.  This week, Ashley takes Christy down the fascinating rabbit hole of the canine sense of smell, exploring just how powerful a dog's nose really is and how researchers are studying dogs' ability to detect diseases in humans. Yes, we're talking science, medical detection, and the possibility that your dog knows WAY more about you than you think. And because apparently learning about incredible canine abilities wasn't enough, Ashley puts Christy's own nose to the test with a mystery sniffing challenge. How hard can identifying random smells possibly be? (Famous last words.) Come for the science, stay for the questionable sniffing skills.  Resources for this episode include: https://www.medicaldetectiondogs.org.uk/dogs-can-detect-multiple-cancers-in-breath-samples https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC12682875/ https://www.cidrap.umn.edu/covid-19/study-shows-dogs-can-detect-covid-19-faster-better-most-pcr-tests https://penntoday.upenn.edu/news/impressive-accuracy-dogs-can-sniff-out-coronavirus https://penntoday.upenn.edu/news/sniffing-out-cancer-trained-dogs-can-detect-hemangiosarcoma-scent https://methods.sciencefriday.com/cancer-dogs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-aEti-Ea0sM Love what you hear?
