Energy Economist Outlook
The "Energy Economist Outlook" podcast addresses one of the world’s most complex challenges: the transition towards a more sustainable energy system. The host, Matteo di Castelnuovo, Professor in Energy Economics at SDA Bocconi School of Management, sits down for a short conversation with leading energy economists about their career, their research interests and the most pressing issues in the energy transition. The podcast is supported by the Italian Association of Energy Economists (AIEE), the Italian affiliate of the International Association for Energy Economics (IAEE). In each episode, the conversation focuses on a different energy economist and thus on different research topics. Many of the guests share non-traditional entry points into the field, starting in law, engineering, or environmental and agricultural economics, emphasizing that energy economics is profoundly multidisciplinary by definition. Energy economics is a constantly evolving discipline, requiring continuous adaptation and expansion of its scope, which now encompasses new topics from sustainable mobility to hard-to-abate industries, from innovative financing mechanisms to clean tech manufacturing. The “Energy Economist Outlook” podcast aims to provide different perspectives on the evolution of Energy Economics and its implications on our understanding of the energy transition.
