    Episode 20: V for Vendetta

    Remember, remember the Fifth of November… because apparently nothing says “saving democracy” quite like a masked lunatic with a knife collection, a flair for Shakespeare, and enough explosives to make the Department of Homeland Security shit itself. This show, we're diving headfirst into V for Vendetta (2005), a dystopian nightmare where the government controls the media, manufactures fear, silences dissent, demonizes outsiders, and convinces an entire population that surrendering their freedom is a small price to pay for a little security. Thank God that's just science fiction, right? RIGHT?! We've got Natalie Portman getting an involuntary haircut, Hugo Weaving delivering philosophical ass-kickings from behind a Guy Fawkes mask, John Hurt running a government that makes Orwell's 1984 look like a cheerful bedtime story, and a population so beaten down by propaganda that they've practically forgotten what freedom looks like. So grab a beer, turn off the state-sponsored news, and join us as we tackle authoritarianism, manufactured crises, government surveillance, media manipulation, and the uncomfortable realization that a movie from 2005 somehow feels less like a warning from the past and more like somebody accidentally leaked tomorrow's headlines. Is V a freedom fighter? A terrorist? A revolutionary? Or just the most dramatically overdressed guy ever to take issue with his elected officials? And perhaps the scariest question of all: At what point does a population become so afraid of losing its safety that it willingly gives up its freedom? The government is watching, the revolution is brewing, and we're drinking like the Ministry of Sobriety has already been abolished. REMEMBER, REMEMBER… AND CHEERS!

    Halloween Special: Signs

    It's Halloween, the cornfields are suspicious, the baby monitor is speaking in tongues, and Mel Gibson is having a full-blown crisis of faith while extraterrestrial assholes turn rural Pennsylvania into the galaxy's worst Airbnb. That's right, we're tackling M. Night Shyamalan's SIGNS (2002), a movie where aliens travel millions of miles across the universe to invade a planet that's 70% water, despite apparently being deathly allergic to the shit. We've got creepy crop circles, traumatized children, crisis of faith's, and an extraterrestrial invasion that could've been stopped by a couple of Super Soakers, or a reasonably aggressive lawn sprinkler. So grab a beer (not a pumpkin one...), board up your doors, and join us as we discuss religious trauma, questionable alien biology, and the world's most terrifying birthday party footage. It's our Halloween Special, and this time the monsters aren't under your bed... They're the trauma in your head!

    Episode 19: The Running Man (1987)

    Welcome to the distant future of 2017, where America is a fascist dumpster fire, television is just murder with commercial breaks, and Arnold Schwarzenegger is wearing a yellow jumpsuit tight enough to violate several workplace safety regulations. Welcome to The Running Man! We have government propaganda, steroid-powered gladiators, exploding hockey players, a chainsaw-wielding psychopath, an opera-singing electric murder machine, and Richard Dawson playing Richard Dawson. So grab a beer and join us as we discuss questionable dystopian fashion, Arnold’s complete inability to play an “average guy,” some of the dumbest, and greatest, one-liners ever committed to film, and a "future" where Americans happily watch people get murdered on television for prizes. Actually… That last part feels a little less ridiculous than it probably should. Cheers! 🍻

    Episode 18: The Core

    This week, we crack open this glorious pseudo-scientific with and award winning cast in 2003’s The Core, where science isn’t so much a set of rules as it is a loose collection of suggestions and asks the question, "But what if we could?" When Earth’s core has stopped spinning, birds are losing their minds, apparently the only solution is to drill to the center of the planet and jump-start it with nukes and unobtainium before Avatar made it cool. Marvel at a plan that somehow makes Armageddon look like a NASA documentary. So, grab a beer, ignore everything you learned in geology class, and join us as we dig deep into one of the most beautifully ridiculous end-of-the-world movies ever made.

    Episode 17: World War Z

    This week we're sprinting headfirst into 2013's World War Z. The movie that asked, "What if zombies were fast and could ignore every law of physics?" Brad Pitt's hair races around the globe trying to save humanity while governments collapse, walls become optional, and and source of logic goes straight into the apocalypse. Join the guys and their guest Tyler Vogt (who suggested this pile!!), as we break down why the highest grossing zombie movie of all time is a true dumpster fire. Grab a beer, inject yourself with an unknow pathogen, and outrun the horde.. because the end of the world has never been more exhausting to watch.

    The Lost Episode: Terminator 2: Judgment Day

    This.... THIS!! This was our first attempt at a podcast to see if the format worked. Needless to say, we feel like it did! The boys deep dive into one of their all time favorite movies, T2: Judgment Day! JJ takes the reigns (JJ's in this one!!) and deep dives into one of the most iconic world ending movies of all time! It may be a little rough around the edges, but the movie more than makes up for it. Grab a drink, and dive in! Cheers!

    Episode 16: They Live

    This week, the guys put on the sunglasses, and breakdown They Live! The movie where Roddy Piper discovers that aliens have secretly taken over Earth… and somehow the solution is to beat the absolute hell out of Keith David in an alley for 6 straight minutes. It’s anti-capitalist paranoia, 80's action energy, and some of the most aggressive social commentary ever shoved into a sci-fi movie. Subtlety is dead, beers will be drank, bubblegum is gone, and this movie absolutely kicks ass. Cheers!

    Episode 15: Reign of Fire

    This episode we break down 2002's Reign of Fire. A movie that asks, “What if dragons woke up and immediately chose violence?” Yes, dragons. It stars an intense Christian Bale, and a completely unhinged Matthew McConaughey in all of his unblinking absurdity. Who's master plan mostly involves jumping at airborne fire-breathing lizards with axes. It’s Mad Max, meets medieval LARP. And we cannot stress enough how seriously this movie takes itself while being an absolutely ridiculous premise. Come have a beer with us and join in the absurdity. Cheers!
