    Weekend Edition - Ezekiel 6

    Send us a note! The scariest idols are the ones we stop noticing. In Ezekiel 6, God speaks against the “high places” of Israel, the public and private spaces where false worship becomes normal, and we feel the weight of what happens when a people keep God’s name while giving their hearts to substitutes. We move verse by verse through the text and let it ask a blunt question: what have we allowed to take God’s rightful place?  We also bring the message into everyday life. We may not carve images, but we still practice idolatry through confidence in wealth, possessions, status, and distractions that promise relief but can’t deliver peace. Jesus’ warning about serving God versus mammon comes into sharp focus as we talk about how “uncertain riches” can function like a rival master, and why God’s commands are not control but protection.  Then the tone deepens: God describes Himself as crushed by His people’s wandering heart, and that grief points us straight to the gospel.     Freedom That Makes You A Family from Acts 13

    Acts 12 and Peace That Lets You Sleep

    Send us a note! A man is chained between two soldiers, guarded at the door, and waiting for a trial that could end his life and he’s asleep. Not “dozing from exhaustion” asleep, but genuinely at rest. That single detail in Acts 12 is a gut check for anyone carrying anxiety, stress, or sleepless nights, and it sets up one of the most vivid stories of peace under pressure in the New Testament. We open with Herod’s violent campaign against the early church, the martyrdom of James, and Peter’s arrest during Passover season. While the church gathers for constant prayer, Peter rests with a confidence that doesn’t come from odds or optimism. Then everything turns: an angel appears, chains fall, guardposts are passed, and an iron gate opens as God delivers Peter in a way no one could engineer.     Called Christian

    Send us a note! “Christian” once meant “little Christ” and it was said with a smirk. We open with that surprising origin story and then follow the deeper question behind it: what happens when God gives you a new name and a new heart, but the world and your own thoughts keep trying to drag you back into shame? We walk through Acts 11 as Pastor Carl unpacks Peter’s repeated message: “What God has cleansed, you must not call common.” Luke tells the story three times for a reason. God is not only correcting the church’s prejudice toward Gentiles, He’s correcting the way we label people as hopeless and the way we keep calling ourselves “unclean” after grace has made us new.     Stop Calling Yourself Unclean - Acts 11

    Send us a note! A room full of religious leaders hears a report they never wanted to believe: Gentiles have received the word of God. The backlash is immediate, and Peter has to explain himself. We follow his step-by-step testimony through Acts 11, from the vision in Joppa to the moment the Holy Spirit falls on a Gentile household, proving that God’s grace does not stop at the borders we build.     Faith That Does Not Need Proof

    Send us a note! You can’t see air, yet you build your entire life around the fact that it’s there. So why do we demand a higher kind of proof when it comes to God?     Humility Before God - Acts 10

    Send us a note! Pride can sneak in the moment God starts using us, so we slow down and ask a hard question: when people respond to a message, are they coming to hear us, or are they coming to hear Jesus through the Word of God? We start with a simple call to humility and a reminder that God humbles the proud, then we step into Acts 10 where the Lord reshapes Peter’s assumptions in a way that still challenges the church today.  From Caesarea to Joppa and back again, we trace the true story of Cornelius, a Roman centurion with a surprising reputation among the Jewish people. He prays, gives generously, seeks God seriously, and then receives a clear direction to send for Simon Peter. Meanwhile Peter is praying when God gives him the vision of the sheet filled with animals and the command to eat.
