The Honorbound Brotherhood

Jonathan Deutsch

Honorbound Brotherhood is a Christ-centered podcast for men who are new to the faith, returning to Christ, or learning how to actually live as Christian men—not with hype or performance, but with humility, obedience, and brotherhood. This podcast is built on two foundational anchors: Galatians 2:20 — “I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.” 1 Corinthians 16:13–14 — “Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love.” Honorbound Brotherhood is for men learning what it means to die to self, stand firm, and

A NEW NAME. THE SAME MISSION. AN EVEN CLEARER PURPOSE. The Honorbound Brotherhood is entering a new chapter with the introduction of Unashamed & Unshaken, a Christ-centered podcast about biblical manhood, Christian discipleship, and following Jesus in everyday life. After one year in my walk with Jesus Christ, I'm sharing part of my personal testimony and the reason behind this new direction. On the outside, I had a wife, four kids, and a career leading men in oilfield safety. But on the inside, I was a man who was lost until Jesus Christ found me. And He's still working on me every day. Rooted in Romans 1:16 and Psalm 16:8, Unashamed & Unshaken is about living without shame in the Gospel and standing firm in Jesus Christ. We're not perfect men. We stumble, fall short, and need God's grace. Our strength and assurance come from Christ and what He accomplished on the cross. The Honorbound Brotherhood remains the movement, and Unashamed & Unshaken becomes the voice of that mission. Together, we'll grow through Scripture, prayer, repentance, discipleship, accountability, and brotherhood—learning to become faithful husbands, fathers, workers, and leaders. I'm not a pastor. I'm a husband, dad, and working man learning to follow Jesus, and I invite you to walk with me. STAND FIRM. BE SHARPENED. Live so others see Christ. Speak so they know the Gospel. The Day Something Broke | How Charlie Kirks Death Changed My Life | The Honorbound Podcast - Ep005

One year after the death of Charlie Kirk, I’m looking back at September 10, 2025—a day that changed something inside me. At the beginning of 2025, I was an atheist. I wasn’t following Jesus, reading Scripture, or even believing there was a God to follow. But throughout that year, I had begun removing some of the political noise, anger, and aggression that had consumed my life. I thought I was simply changing myself. Looking back, I believe God was already working. Then, on my 14th wedding anniversary, I learned Charlie Kirk had been killed. Something broke. His death forced me to confront questions I had avoided for years about truth, fatherhood, the man I was becoming, what I was building my life upon, and ultimately, God. About a month later, I stopped running and called out to Jesus Christ. Charlie didn’t save me. Politics didn’t save me. Walking away from politics didn’t save me. Jesus Christ did. In this personal episode of Honorbound Podcast, I share how I went from atheism, anger, and unbelief to surrendering my life to Christ—and how I can now see God’s sovereignty in a journey I couldn’t understand while I was living it. This isn’t ultimately a story about Charlie. It’s a testimony about Jesus. And if something in your own life is changing—if you’re searching, questioning, or wondering whether there is something more—maybe it’s time to ask: What if God is calling you, too? The Resurrection Body | 1 Corinthians 15:35-49 | | The Honorbound Podcast - Ep 003

What happens to our bodies after we die? What does the Bible actually mean when it promises a resurrection body?In 1 Corinthians 15:35–49, Paul answers those questions with one of the most powerful pictures in Scripture: a seed buried in the ground. What is sown corruptible will be raised incorruptible. What is sown in dishonor will be raised in glory. What is sown in weakness will be raised in power. In this episode of the Honorbound Podcast, I slow down and walk through this passage piece by piece—not as someone who has Scripture all figured out, but as a man learning to understand what I believe and why I believe it.We’ll look at:• Why Paul compares our bodies to a seed• What “spiritual body” actually means• Why Paul points to creation to explain resurrection• The connection between Adam and Jesus, the “last Adam”• What it means to bear the image of the man of dust• The incredible promise that those who belong to Christ will bear the image of the heavenly• How resurrection hope should change the way we live right nowOur bodies get tired. They age. They hurt. They break down. Eventually, unless Christ returns first, they die.But for those who belong to Jesus Christ, death does not get the final word.Jesus does.We bear the image of the man of dust today. But resurrection is coming.📖 Scripture: 1 Corinthians 15:35–49If you're learning Scripture alongside me, subscribe and join me as we continue digging into God's Word and learning what it means to follow Christ faithfully.God First. Not Blind Faith | Why I Believe the Bible & Jesus Christ | The Honorbound Podcast - Ep 002

Is Christianity blind faith—or is there real historical evidence behind what Christians believe? In Episode 002 of the Honorbound Brotherhood Podcast, I share what I’ve been learning during my first year as a Christian about the reliability of the Bible, the historical Jesus, the Resurrection, early New Testament writings, and Christian apologetics.I’m not a pastor, theologian, or apologist. I’m a new Christian trying to understand not only what I believe, but why I believe it.In this episode, we look at the early writings of the Apostle Paul, including 1 Corinthians 15, and how close they were written to the crucifixion of Jesus. We talk about Paul’s personal connections to Peter and James, the brother of Jesus, and what non-Christian historical sources such as Flavius Josephus and Tacitus wrote about Jesus, James, Pontius Pilate, and the earliest Christians. We also look at archaeological evidence surrounding figures such as Pontius Pilate and Herod the Great and why these discoveries help establish the real historical world described in the New Testament—without pretending that archaeology itself proves the Resurrection.I also share why I’ve been learning from teachers, pastors, theologians, and apologists including Wes Huff and Apologetics Canada, R.C. Sproul and Ligonier Ministries, John MacArthur, and others, while continually bringing what I learn back to Scripture.I’ve also just begun reading Wayne Grudem’s Systematic Theology. I’m nowhere close to being a theologian, but I’m beginning to understand why theology matters: I don’t want my Christianity to be a collection of disconnected Bible verses, sermons, podcasts, and opinions. I want to understand what the whole of Scripture teaches and why I believe what I believe. But none of this knowledge saves me.History doesn’t save me.Apologetics doesn’t save me.Theology doesn’t save me.Jesus Christ does.My faith isn’t blind faith. It is real, active, steadfast faith in Jesus Christ—and I want to be prepared to give a reason for the hope that is in me.“Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love.” — 1 Corinthians 16:13–14 ESVGod first. Honor. Discipline. Courage.
