Season 2, Episode 6: The Stories We Tell Ourselves: What Writing My Story Taught Me

In this episode of Someday Is Here, I’m doing something that feels a little vulnerable: sharing a few passages from my upcoming book, Just Unfinished, and talking about what writing my story taught me about myself. I go back to being 18 years old, staring at a positive pregnancy test and wondering how I could possibly be ready to become a mom. I share the promise I made to my baby in a quiet hospital room, a promise made from love and fear that would shape so much of the life that followed. We talk about the promises we make to ourselves, how even loving promises can sometimes become cages, and the years I spent seeing myself as “just a mom.” I also share what writing this book helped me recognize about the patterns, coping strategies, and stories I carried for years without questioning them. And maybe there’s a story you’ve been carrying, too. I’m too much.I have to take care of everyone.I can’t disappoint anyone.I’m behind.Everyone else has it figured out. Where did that story come from? And does it still deserve the power you’re giving it? Just Unfinished releases September 22. You can learn more at michellekramer.com. Plus, I share what’s coming next on Someday Is Here: my friend and colleague Carrie joins me for a conversation about grief, serious illness, what not to say when someone is hurting, and how we can learn to show up better when there are no right words.

    Season 2, Episode 1: Still Unfinished | Where I've Been & What's Next

Welcome to Season 2 of Someday Is Here. It's been a little while since we've talked, and today I'm sharing why. Over the past several months, life has been beautifully full. From finishing my book Just Unfinished, to opening my California therapy practice, to balancing family, work, and the everyday realities of chasing big dreams, I've learned that sometimes growth doesn't happen when life slows down, it happens right in the middle of the chaos. In this episode, I'm catching you up on what's been happening behind the scenes, what this season has taught me, and why I decided this felt like the right time to begin a new chapter of the podcast. We'll talk about:• Where I've been• The excitement and fear of building something new• Why it's okay to step back when life gets full• What "unfinished" has come to mean to me• What's ahead for Season 2 If you've ever felt like you're trying to juggle too much, wondering if you're doing enough, or learning to embrace the messy middle of life, I hope this conversation reminds you that you don't have to have everything figured out. Because maybe you're just unfinished... ...and unfinished is not the same as done. If this episode resonates with you, I'd love for you to subscribe, leave a review, or share it with someone who might need the reminder today.
