    Paul said Midnight Spider-Man was garbage. The comic book internet got mad. Now Robert and Paul have a whole lot to say about it. On Episode 46 of Pull Party, we're addressing the backlash to Paul's brutally honest review of Marvel's Midnight Spider-Man. Is it rage bait if you genuinely think a comic book is bad? Why do fans defend their favorite creators like they're family members? And why is having a negative opinion about a comic book apparently a crime against humanity? Paul breaks down what he thinks went wrong with Midnight Spider-Man, from its familiar origin story to its cartoonish villain and questionable storytelling choices.     We have a problem. There is a mysterious purple car hiding in Last Driver #2, and we have absolutely no f*****g idea what it is. That's where we're ending this week's Pull Party, but naturally we had to spend the previous two hours talking about basically everything else in comics first. We talk Lanterns, Hal Jordan's dad, the Jordan family curse, Gambit, the latest Absolute books, Absolute Batman turning Scarecrow into the goddamn boogeyman, and Absolute Wonder Woman #24 bringing some serious fear-god b******t into the mix. We also get into Dispatch #3, a very dark Joan of Arc story involving Corpse Knight and the very real Gilles de Rais, and somehow end up talking about the historical b******t we were all taught as kids. Then Sean Murphy's Last Driver #2 steals the show. The book is loaded with ridiculous attention to detail and a two-page garage spread packed with famous vehicles. We've got the Keaton Batmobile, the General Lee, the Ecto-1, Knight Rider, the DeLorean, a Back to the Future vehicle, and apparently at least one car that has completely defeated us.We also get distracted by Mystery Men, old X-Men trading cards, Batman Beyond, the Arkham games, South Park, variant-cover insanity, and a whole lot of b******t that probably wasn't on anybody's bingo card.
