    S2 Ep. 4 | What About Bob?

🧠 This week we’re talking therapy... which feels appropriate considering Hannah is currently concerning her therapist. 😂 And for this one, we brought in backup. Allison’s mom, Pam, joins the podcast as our resident Boomer who is learning Gen Alpha slang, which means we somehow go from therapy to “the tax,” raising kids in the '90s, and whether parents actually knew where their children were back then. Then we rewind one of Pam’s favorites, What About Bob? (1991), starring Bill Murray and Richard Dreyfuss. Bob Wiley is a neurotic patient who becomes extremely attached to his new psychiatrist, Dr. Leo Marvin. So attached, in fact, that when Leo leaves for vacation, Bob tracks him down, befriends his family, becomes the town favorite, appears on national television, and slowly drives Leo completely out of his mind. Baby steps. 😂 This week we’re talking: 🧠 Therapy, therapists, and Hannah’s latest appointment👩‍👧 Allison’s mom joins the chaos📱 A Boomer learning Gen Alpha slang🏡 What it was actually like raising kids in the '90s🐠 Bob and his goldfish, Gil📖 The questionable brilliance of Baby Steps⛵ “I’m sailing!”😂 Bob charming literally everyone except his own therapist💥 Leo’s increasingly unhinged attempts to get rid of Bob🎬 And the very real tension between Bill Murray and Richard Dreyfuss behind the scenes Hannah’s Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4/10Pam’s Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐½ 8.5/10 So yes, there may be a slight generational divide on this one. 🎧 Follow us so you don’t miss the rest of Season 2! Our Next Watch: 10 Things I Hate About You (1999) for Hannah’s birthday week! 🎂 And fun fact: Allison’s mom took her to see this one in theaters just after her 13th birthday. Be kind... and rewind. 💛

S2 Ep. 3 | Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood

🍸 Nothing says friendship quite like drugging and kidnapping your best friend’s adult daughter. YA-YA! We’re taking a quick trip out of the '90s for a 2000s week, and first Hannah gets introduced to Gilmore Girls with the 2000 pilot. We meet Lorelai, Rory, Luke, Sookie, Emily, Richard, Lane, Michel, an incredible amount of coffee, and dialogue that moves approximately 400 miles per hour. ☕ Then it’s time for Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood (2002), where an interview gone VERY wrong starts an all-out war between playwright Sidda Walker and her mother, Vivi. Vivi cuts Sidda out of the family photos. Sidda sends back a strategically edited wedding invitation. Vivi rewrites the will. And Vivi’s lifelong best friends decide the only reasonable solution is to drug Sidda, kidnap her, fly her to Louisiana, and stage a family intervention. Totally normal friendship behavior. 😂 This week we’re talking: ☕ Hannah’s introduction to Gilmore Girls 🍸 The Ya-Yas and their lifelong, slightly unhinged friendship ✂️ One of the pettiest mother-daughter feuds we’ve seen 💊 An intervention that begins with a roofie and a kidnapping 📖 The Divine Secrets book and the pieces of Vivi’s life Sidda never knew 💔 Jack, Shep, and the complicated history behind Vivi’s marriage 🌻 How childhood memories can look very different once you know the whole story 🎸 A surprise appearance from blues musician Taj Mahal 😂 And the Ya-Yas delivering some truly fantastic one-liners There’s a lot of comedy here, but there’s also a much heavier story underneath it about family, trauma, motherhood, friendship, and finally understanding that the version of your childhood you remember may not be the entire story. Hannah’s Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐½ 8.5/10 🎧 Follow us so you don’t miss the rest of Season 2! Our Next Watch: What About Bob? (1991), and Allison’s mom is joining us. Which means we may also be getting another lesson in Gen Alpha slang. Please send help. 😂 Be kind... and rewind. 💛

    S2 Ep. 2 | The Parent Trap

“O, how the turn tables have turned…” - Michael Scott (& Allison) This week, Hannah takes over the script for one of HER childhood favorites, The Parent Trap (1998), and apparently she had a lot to say about it. Before we even get to Camp Walden, Hannah tells us how this movie fueled her childhood maladaptive daydreaming, complete with pacing around the house, talking to herself, imaginary long-lost twins, dramatic reunions, and entire storylines that existed exclusively in her head. Allison did NOT do this as a kid... and she’ll tell you why. 😂 Then we rewind The Parent Trap, where two girls meet at summer camp, discover they’re identical twins, switch places, and decide the obvious solution to their parents’ 11-year divorce is to get them back together. Along the way, Hannah unexpectedly gets a lesson in: Phone booths and collect callsHow a Disney movie is apparently teaching Hannah about poker DIY ear piercing, because Claire’s wasn’t always an optionMeredith Blake, who may be the villain... but has incredible styleChessy and Martin, obvi. And all the little details, callbacks, and '90s moments we noticed this time around. We also talk about the original 1961 Parent Trap, Lindsay Lohan pulling double duty as Hallie and Annie, the VERY '90s fashion, the 411 making another appearance, and why Chessy somehow knew something was wrong almost immediately. Hannah’s Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (9/10)Allison’s Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐½ (7.5/10)Allison's Favorite Character: Meredith Blake 💅 because Elaine Hendrix is amazing. 🎧 Follow us so you don’t miss the rest of Season 2! Our Next Watch: We’re making a little 2000s detour with Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood (2002). Be kind… and rewind. 💛
