Avery Koenen | Basketball, Identity, & The Decision to Stay

This week’s guest is Avery Koenen. Avery is a senior forward for NDSU Women’s Basketball coming off a historic season, but some of the biggest decisions she’s made have had nothing to do with what happened on the court. After being named Summit League Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year, earning AP All-America Honorable Mention, and helping lead NDSU to its first-ever Summit League regular-season championship, Avery had options. In an era of NIL and the transfer portal, she had opportunities to leave NDSU and potentially make a lot of money elsewhere. She chose to stay. In this episode, we talk about: • Keeping your identity rooted in Christ, not performance• Handling success, pressure, and expectations• The power of Godly community• How faith shapes basketball, relationships, and leadership• Why Avery chose to stay at NDSU Avery’s story is a reminder that the biggest opportunity isn’t always the right opportunity. Knowing who you are helps you know where you’re supposed to go. 🎧 EVERYDAY ADVENTURE PODCASThttps://stephenglasser.com/podcast 📖 GET THE EVERYDAY ADVENTURE BOOKhttps://stephenglasser.com/book 🧭 FIND YOUR PURPOSE WORKSHOPOctober 19 | 6–8 PMA guided experience designed to help you better understand who you are, what you were designed to do, and how to live it out in your everyday life. Finding Purpose in Your Everyday Life

What if finding your purpose has less to do with discovering the perfect job, calling, or opportunity and more to do with how you’re living the life already in front of you? In this episode, Stephen and Megan kick off a new conversation about purpose and why we often miss it while waiting for something bigger. From David in the pasture to Walter Mitty dreaming about another life, we explore how God can use ordinary places and ordinary seasons for something much bigger than we realize. Because purpose isn't just about what you do. It's about why you do it and how you do it. IN THIS EPISODE: • Why the mundane isn't meaningless and ordinary seasons still have purpose• The danger of constantly waiting for "real life" to begin• How self-centeredness can quietly shrink our sense of purpose• Why purpose starts with the mission Jesus has already given us• How living on mission changes why we do what we do and how we do it FIND YOUR PURPOSE WORKSHOP If you've been wrestling with questions about your purpose, calling, or what God might be inviting you into next, join Stephen for a two-hour guided workshop designed to help you better understand how God has uniquely wired you, clarify your purpose, and take practical steps toward living it out right where you are. 📅 October 19 | 6:00–8:00 PM📍 Northview Church | Fargo, ND🎟️ $40 | Couples: Buy one, get the second 50% off🔗 https://stephenglasser.com/events EVERYDAY ADVENTURE Get Stephen's book, Everyday Adventure:https://a.co/d/0e5gQmBA Learn more about Stephen, JourneyWay, workshops, resources, and upcoming events:https://stephenglasser.com CONNECT WITH US Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/stephenglasser/ YouTube:https://www.youtube.com/@StephenGlasser Listen to the Everyday Adventure Podcast on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and YouTube. Why Your Rhythms Matter More Than Your Intentions

Good intentions aren't enough to create the life you want. In this episode, Stephen and Megan kick off a new series called RHYTHMS & ROUTES and explore the gap between intention and transformation. We all have rhythms, whether we've chosen them or even realize they're there. The question is: Where are those rhythms taking us? • Why good intentions don't automatically lead to transformation• What a Rhythm of Life is and why it matters• The difference between goals, habits, routines, and rhythms• How hurry and distraction are forming us• Why your rhythms eventually become your routes• How repeated practices can help us build our lives around Jesus• RANK THAT RHYTHM: Stephen ranks everything from morning coffee and Sunday naps to Bible before phone, date nights, scrolling in bed, and weekly Sabbath Every rhythm is taking you somewhere. Doug Wekenman | What Does God Have Planned for Me Next?

What does God have planned for your life? In this episode, Stephen sits down with Pastor and author Doug Wekenman to explore one of life's biggest questions: How do we trust God when we don't know what's next? Doug serves at Red Rocks Church in Austin and recently released his new book, What Does God Have Planned for Me Next? Doug writes, "As Christians, we're called to follow a God we can't see, with a voice we can't hear, into a future we don't know." Together, they unpack what that looks like in everyday life. IN THIS EPISODE: • Following God through the adventure of life• Discerning God's voice through Scripture and wise people• Whether it's okay to have dreams and make plans• Why God sometimes "ruins" our plans for something better• Taking your next faithful step, even when the future is uncertain If you've ever wondered what God is calling you to next, this conversation will encourage you to trust Him with whatever comes next. 📖 DOUG'S BOOK:https://a.co/d/00NigVen SHOW NOTE LINKS Doug Wekenman• Website: https://dougwekenman.com• Red Rocks Austin: https://redrocksaustin.com• Instagram: https://instagram.com/dougwekenman• Facebook: https://facebook.com/wekenman• YouTube: https://youtube.com/@RedRocksAustin• Podcast: The Afterthoughts Podcast EVERYDAY ADVENTURE • Website: https://stephenglasser.com/podcast• Stephen: https://instagram.com/stephenglasser• Everyday Adventure: https://instagram.com/evdayadventure• Book: https://a.co/d/02lYqXiE
