This is a quiet conversation about supporting the body without reducing healing to one protocol, one food, or one fearful decision. Episode 11 — Lifestyle Medicine in Plain English: What Your Body Actually Needs

If health advice has started to feel overwhelming, this episode is a gentle return to what your body actually needs. In this episode, Dr. Nnenna Ndika explores lifestyle medicine in plain English... not as pressure, perfection, or another wellness checklist, but as a steadier, more supportive way to understand what helps the body regulate, repair, and restore. Through the core pillars of lifestyle medicine... food, movement, sleep, stress, substances, and connection... she offers a quieter reframe: that healing does not come from intensity, but from small choices practiced consistently in a state of calm. This is an invitation to step out of performance… and into partnership with your body. A gentle reminder: This podcast is for educational and reflective purposes only and is not medical, nutritional, or psychological advice. I'd love to read from you. Episode 10 — How to Create a Healing Environment at Home

What if your home is affecting your healing more than you realize? In this episode, Dr. Nnenna explores how the spaces we live in can either support the nervous system or quietly work against it. You’ll hear a gentler way to think about home, healing, and what your body may be absorbing every day. Your environment is never neutral. Sometimes the very space meant to hold us is also shaping our stress, our regulation, and our ability to fully exhale. In this episode of the Silent Medicine Podcast, Dr. Nnenna opens up a deeper conversation about the home as more than a place to live. This is not about perfection or expensive upgrades. It is about awareness, subtle shifts, and learning to recognize what in your environment may be speaking to your body before your mind even catches up. A quiet, grounding episode for anyone longing to make home feel more supportive to healing. I'd love to read from you. Episode 7 — When Your Body Says “No” in Relationships and Work

Sometimes we say “yes” out loud… while the body quietly says “no.” Not because we’re weak. Not because we’re broken. But because the nervous system is speaking in the only language it has: sensations. In this episode, Dr. Nnenna Ndika explores what it looks like when your body signals misalignment in relationships and work... the tight chest, the heavy stomach, the dread you can’t logically defend, the shutdown, the bracing. We talk about why these signals often arrive before the mind has words, how people-pleasing has a physiology, and why a clean boundary can be real nervous-system medicine. You’ll also be guided through a simple 90-second micro-practice to help you pause, check your capacity, and respond with one calm truth sentence... without drama, over-explaining, or self-betrayal. In this episode, we explore: The body’s “no” as information (not weakness)Why the mind wants reasons — and the body tracks safetyFight / flight / freeze / fawn and the physiology of overgivingBoundaries as regulation: simple, clear, calmA 90-second Pause + Truth Sentence practiceMicro-Practice (90 seconds): Pause + Self-Truth Sentence Pause (3 seconds)Two slow exhales (longer out-breath)Hand to chest or bellyAsk: “What is my body saying — yes, no, or not sure?”Choose one truth sentence:“Let me get back to you.”“I need to check my capacity.”“That doesn’t work for me.”“I can’t commit to that.”“I’m not available for that conversation today.”Reflection question: Where in your life are you saying “yes” out loud… while your body is quietly saying “no”? And what would change if you trusted that signal as wisdom? More reflections: silentmedicine.com I'd love to read from you. Episode 6: Emotional Digestion: What Your Body Does with Feelings

Episode 6 — Emotional Digestion: What Your Body Does with Feelings What if the body doesn’t simply “move on” from what the mind tries to skip? In this episode, we explore emotional digestion... not emotional expression, and not intense processing as a task, but what your body actually does with feelings once they’re felt… and what happens when emotional experiences arrive faster than the nervous system can metabolize them. → Listen / share / episode page: https://silentmedicine.com/podcast/#ep6 In this quiet reflection, you’ll hear: Why emotions are physiological events, not abstract ideasThe difference between understanding an experience and digesting itHow unfinished emotions can show up as tension, gut discomfort, sleep disruption, fatigue, irritability, and moreWhy “going deep” isn’t always healing... and how small, safe doses are often the most effectiveA simple 90-second micro-practice to begin gentle completionMicro-Practice (90 seconds): Name + Locate + Exhale Name one feeling from today in one wordLocate it in the body (jaw, chest, belly, shoulders)Exhale slowly for 6–8 seconds, five timesWhisper: “Small dose. Safe pace.”Reflection Question Over the next few days, if your body could tell you the truth, what emotion might it say it’s still carrying? Not why. Not how to fix it. Just: what is it? And what would a small, safe portion of connecting with that emotion look like for you?
