    Mike Flynn Is Wrong: The Real Reason You Can't Find a Job

    Mike Flynn says American men have "soft hands and weak spines." I was an engineering director at American Express. I've sat on the other side of the hiring decision, and his explanation leaves the people controlling the jobs out of the picture. I look at the payroll data, Amazon's AI workforce plans, reduced hiring of young workers, lowball salaries, H-1B and offshoring incentives, graduate underemployment, and the cost of building a life.     Is Your Green Card Legit? Major Corruption Scandal Exposed

    A USCIS officer is accused of selling green card and citizenship approvals while the people following the rules wait. The alleged corruption scheme raises a question I can't get past: how did so many institutions let this happen? Federal prosecutors charged former senior immigration officer Lukman Owolabi Ganiyu and Adeniyi Akeem Somoye over an alleged cash-for-approvals operation. I go through the case, the nearly $960,000 in payments and cash deposits discussed in the reporting, and the interviews and background checks prosecutors say were bypassed. These are allegations, not convictions. Ganiyu's lawyer denies the accusations, and the defendants are presumed innocent. I worked in financial technology. We make ordinary people hand over their IDs and personal information for "know your customer" checks, yet this case raises serious questions about what those systems actually catch. I also question the IRS, USCIS oversight, and what this does to people trying to immigrate lawfully. My criticism of those institutions is commentary, not a finding by the court. If following the rules just means waiting while somebody else pays to skip the line, why would people keep trusting the process?
