Send us Fan Mail What if some of the goals you’re still chasing have less to do with what you want now and more to do with something you’re still trying to prove? In this episode, I’m exploring the hidden audience many high-achieving women carry with them: the person who underestimated you, rejected you, questioned your choices, or made you feel that you had something to prove. I talk about why proving yourself is not always a bad thing. Being underestimated can create enormous drive. It can help you build a career, become financially independent, get qualified, change your circumstances, and achieve things you once thought were impossible. But there can come a point where the fuel that got you here is no longer the fuel you want to use for the next part of your life. You’ll hear how proving can hide inside ambition, independence, success, appearance, and even the need to make certain life choices “work.” I also explore what happens when an old identity becomes a rule you are still living by, and why one of the most important questions we can ask is whether we genuinely want what we are pursuing, or whether we still need the outcome to prove something about us. If this conversation resonates, I invite you to read Claws Out: Thriving in a World That Wants You Tamed. The book explores the pressure women experience to prove, perform and adapt, and introduces the ROAR framework for recognising those patterns and beginning to create success from a place that is more authentically your own. And if you’re beginning to realise that a goal, relationship, identity or definition of success has become tangled up with something you are still trying to prove, you can also book a Reset Session with me. We’ll separate what you genuinely want from what you may still be trying to demonstrate to someone else.
