Bill Skarsgård Fooled Us All | Barbarian - Movie Review

This week on For the Love of Film, the crew descends into the unsettling world of Barbarian. What starts as a seemingly familiar horror setup quickly spirals into something far stranger — and the guys are here to break down why the film’s biggest strength might be its willingness to completely pull the rug out from under the audience. From Bill Skarsgård bait-and-switch expectations to Justin Long’s wildly tonal-shifting performance, the conversation explores how Barbarian plays with horror tropes, audience psychology, and dark comedy in ways that keep viewers off balance. The hosts also debate whether the film leaves too much unsaid, how effective the perspective shifts really are, and why that tape-measure scene might be the funniest moment in modern horror. If you love horror that messes with your expectations — or you’re still deciding whether you even like horror at all — this is an episode you won’t want to miss.
