Marathons for Miracles

Olly Brown

Across 39 weeks and 39 marathons in the 39 historic counties of England, Olly Brown runs alongside people with personal connections to baby loss, miscarriage, and complex pregnancy journeys. In each episode, he sits down with a runner to talk openly about their story — what they’ve been through, what brought them to the start line, and why this cause matters to them. Each episode is released in the same week as that runner’s marathon, allowing listeners to follow the journey in real time — meeting the people behind the miles as the challenge unfolds. These are honest conversations about loss, resilience and showing up — not just on race day, but in life. Some discussions may cover sensitive or emotional topics, and the podcast does not provide or replace medical advice. It aims to create space for shared experiences and open conversation. The podcast runs alongside the challenge to raise money and awareness for Tommy’s, supporting families and funding vital research to help prevent pregnancy and baby loss. Listen along for the stories behind the miles — one week at a time.

    Ep30: A Mother’s Marathon. A Daughter’s Miracle, with Lottie & Rosy — Suffolk

After two heartbreaking pregnancy losses in the space of six months, Lottie wasn't sure if she would ever become a mum. The first miscarriage ended in a life-threatening haemorrhage requiring emergency surgery. The second brought more unanswered questions, after doctors discovered multiple empty gestational sacs instead of a developing pregnancy. As a doctor herself, Lottie understood the medicine. Living through it was something entirely different. In this episode, Lottie is joined by her mum, Rosy, who will be running the Suffolk marathon on her behalf while Lottie cheers from the sidelines—38 weeks pregnant with the baby they never stopped hoping for. Together they talk about recurrent miscarriage, the importance of specialist support, the role Tommy's played in giving them hope, and why speaking openly about pregnancy loss matters so much. It's an emotional conversation about resilience, family, and finding joy again after unimaginable heartbreak. 🎧 Listen on Spotify, Apple Podcasts and YouTube. 👉 Follow the journey and support the cause at marathonsformiracles.com Marathons for Miracles follows Olly as he runs 39 marathons across England's historic counties in 2026, raising money for Tommy's to help fund research into miscarriage, stillbirth and premature birth.
