A Man That God Can Use

Send us Fan Mail You keep asking God to use you—but what will you do when He gives you the opportunity? In “A Man God Could Use,” Pastor Matt brings us face-to-face with Ehud, an unexpected deliverer whose difference had a place in God’s plan. Through Judges 3, discover the personal responsibility behind his preparation, the obedience that moved him into action, and the example that called others to follow. The dagger had to be made. The king had to be confronted. The people had to be led. You may feel different. You may feel inadequate. But if God is stirring your heart to serve, it’s time to take the next step. Support the show

I Still Need Him

Send us Fan Mail What happens when experience starts replacing dependence on God? Othniel was not inexperienced. He came from a strong heritage. He had already fought battles. He had already experienced victory. Yet when God raised him up to deliver Israel, Scripture still says, “The Spirit of the LORD came upon him…” — Judges 3:10. Yesterday’s victory did not remove today’s need for God. Sometimes the most dangerous place in the Christian life is not when we feel weak—it is when we begin to feel strong enough to handle things ourselves. We know the routine. We know the Scripture. We know how to serve, lead, teach, and make it through another week. But somewhere along the way, have we learned how to do the work of God without desperately depending on God? In this message from the Raising Deliverers series, we look at the life of Othniel and confront three realities of genuine dependence: experience can never replace our need for God, obedience cannot be conditioned on controlling the outcome, and when victory comes, the glory still belongs to Him. You can obey, but you cannot change a heart. You can witness, but you cannot make someone believe. You can serve faithfully, but you cannot guarantee the results. You can take the next step—but you still need Him. The question is not whether God is able. The question is whether our own inability has become a greater authority in our lives than God’s command. I still need Him. And so do you. Support the show

We're Not Finished Yet

Send us Fan Mail God has done great things in the past, but past victories do not remove our present responsibility. In this message from Judges 1, Pastor Matt challenges the church with a simple truth: we’re not finished yet. Israel had experienced God’s power, inherited the land, and seen victory after victory, but there was still work left to do. The assignment outlived Joshua. The obstacles did not cancel God’s command. What Israel chose to leave unfinished eventually became a limitation to the next generation. This is a call to stop waiting for somebody else to step up and ask, “Lord, what have You placed in my hands?” There are still people to reach, children to teach, families to strengthen, and a generation that needs to see faithful men and women follow God. The job isn’t finished. The church still has a mission. Our obedience today will help shape what the next generation inherits tomorrow. Support the show

Drive Them Away

Send us Fan Mail Abram had obeyed God and prepared the sacrifice, but before the covenant was confirmed, the birds came down. Scripture says, “Abram drove them away.” What do we do when we have prayed and obeyed, yet the answer has not come? In this episode of New Hope for Today, Pastor Matt Gravely challenges the church to guard what God has entrusted to it while waiting for Him to work. Bitterness, gossip, and compromise can consume a church’s unity and witness when we leave them unchallenged. Abram could drive away the birds. Only God could fulfill the promise. Stay faithful with what He has placed in your hands. Support the show

When God Becomes Better Than Life

Send us Fan Mail David’s life had been turned upside down, his future was uncertain, and the wilderness around him was dry. Yet his deepest desire was not for easier circumstances. He wanted God. In this episode, we examine David’s declaration in Psalm 63:3: “Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.” Have we learned to praise God only for what He can change, or have we discovered that God Himself is better than anything this life can offer? When the heart truly recognizes the worth of God, praise will not remain silent. Listen as we explore the cause, comparison, and culmination of David’s praise—and confront what our own worship reveals about how deeply we value Him. Support the show

Conviction in the Saint

Send us Fan Mail What happens when a Christian becomes comfortable with something that still grieves the Holy Ghost? Conviction does not end when we get saved. The same Holy Ghost who convicted us of our need for Christ now dwells within us, revealing what does not belong in the life of a believer. In this message from Ephesians 4:25–32, we examine the difference between simply feeling bad about sin and allowing godly sorrow to produce real repentance. Scripture calls us to more than regret. There are things that must be put away and there are things that must take their place. The danger is not simply that a Christian can fall into sin. The danger is that we can become comfortable with the very thing that still grieves the Holy Ghost. What is the Holy Ghost putting His finger on in your life? Conviction in the Sinner

Send us Fan Mail What does it really mean to be convicted by the Holy Ghost? In John 16, Jesus said the Holy Ghost would reprove the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. Biblical conviction is more than feeling guilty about something we have done—it brings us face-to-face with our true condition before God. In this message, “Conviction in the Sinner,” we examine how the Holy Ghost exposes our sin, strips away confidence in our own righteousness, and confronts us with the certainty of judgment. Conviction does not point us toward religion, good works, an altar experience, baptism, or a story from years ago. It points us to our need for Jesus Christ. This message closes with a deeply personal question: Do I know Christ—or do I only know a story that has been told about me? Listen with an open Bible and an open heart as we examine the convicting work of the Holy Ghost from John 16:7–11. Support the show

More Than Knowing

Send us Fan Mail There is a difference between knowing about God and truly knowing Him. In “More Than Knowing,” we continue through Psalm 63 and discover David’s desperate desire to see God’s power and glory, even in the wilderness. David was not satisfied with yesterday’s victories or borrowed experiences. He wanted God to make Himself evident again. Your circumstances may have changed, but the direction of your heart does not have to. The wilderness might not be something God immediately removes. It may become the place where you see Him more clearly than ever before. Are we content to talk about how God used to move, or are we hungry to see Him move today? Listen now, follow New Hope for Today, and share this episode with someone who needs more than knowledge. They need a fresh encounter with God. Support the show
