Rest & Ambition Ep. 3: I Built An App With No Money And No Tech Skills

Rest & Ambition is a new series where I’m sharing and documenting my journey to becoming a wellness tech founder while trying not to burnout in the process. You can watch the full episode on YouTube, or listen here, on Apple Podcasts, & Spotify I’m building an app with no coding background and barely any budget, and I’m not letting either of those things stop me. This episode is a real walkthrough of how I’m actually doing it: the tools I’m using, what my process looks like, why I’m holding off on launching to the app stores right away, and the honest issues I’ve hit along the way. If you’ve got an idea you’ve been sitting on because you don’t think you have the skills or the money to make it happen, remember, you don’t need either (at least not immediately). You just need to get creative and figure out another way. Watch this episode over on YouTube. You can also listen on Apple Podcasts and Spotify. The DEW app launches to the waitlist on September 15th! Join now to receive exclusive access plus weekly tips on how to make rest a daily priority. Rest & Ambition Ep. 2: I Didn't Build This App For Everyone

The UnHustle is a new series where I’m sharing and documenting my journey to becoming a wellness tech founder while trying not to burnout in the process. You can watch the full episode on YouTube, or listen here, on Apple Podcasts, & Spotify What would you do if someone you respected questioned the entire reason you built your company? In this week's episode of The UnHustle, I'm sharing the story of how a man I met at a startup event tried to challenge why I'm building DEW exclusively for women entrepreneurs, and why I'm so passionate about serving this specific community. To be honest, I almost allowed him saying that I was limiting my companies success get to me. But being confident in what I'm building and who I'm building it for allowed me to eventually brush it off. In this episode, I break down exactly why. There are nearly 15 million women entrepreneurs in the US right now, and we are still one of the most underserved and unsupported groups in business. DEW (Doing Everyday Well) exists to change that: a wellness app built specifically for women entrepreneurs who want to build sustainable businesses without burning out. If you're a founder, creator, or woman in business who's ever been told you're "doing it wrong" by building differently, this episode is for you! MISSED LAST WEEKS EPISODE? Rest & Ambition Ep.1: 15 Years of Entrepreneurship, Here's What I'm Building Next

Welcome to Rest & Ambition! A new series where I give you a behind the scenes look at how I am building a new, wellness tech company while trying not to burn myself out in the process! I have been an entrepreneur in some capacity for nearly 15 years. In that time, I’ve done it all. I’ve made and sold jewelry, I’ve blogged, taughter others how to grow their blogs, created numerous different courses, digital products, and membership communities, and coached other women entrepreneurs onhow to build their service based businesses. But building a tech company in the wellness space is a whole new world for me. And honestly, I not only have no clue what I am doing but I’m also doing this with limited funds and time. My main goal is to create a tool that will help women entrepreneurs to prevent burnout and do all of that while avoiding burnout myself. In this first episode I share the 15 year journey that led me to DEW and my big hopes for the future! Subscribe now on Youtube, Apple Podcast, and Spotify so that you don’t miss an episode! Learn more about the DEW app and join over 100 women entrepreneurs on the waitlist. We’re launching to beta users in September! Doing Life Well is a reader-supported publication. When To Pivot Vs. Push Through In Your Business

How do you know when it's time to pivot your business versus when you just need to push through a hard season? This is one of the most difficult decisions you'll face as an entrepreneur - and I've learned it the hard way. In this episode, I'm sharing my own pivot story: quitting my coaching business after 7 years without a plan. I'm breaking down the signs that told me it was time to change direction, the times I almost pivoted but talked myself out of it (and what that cost me), and how I'm applying these lessons to building DEW. Whether you're currently questioning your business direction or want to know how to navigate this in the future, this conversation will give you clarity and a framework for deciding. How Much Money Do You Actually Need?

How much money do you actually need to make? Not the Instagram answer - YOUR answer.  In this episode, I'm getting real about my own complicated relationship with money - the avoidance, the anxiety, the guilt of building a business that's not making money yet. And I'm walking you through how to stop chasing arbitrary numbers and figure out what YOU actually need to live the life you want. We're talking about: - Why money is a wellness issue (and how financial stress drains your capacity) - The 6-figure lie and why success isn't a number - How to calculate your actual income goal (step-by-step breakdown) - The guilt of investing in your business vs. personal needs - Dealing with inconsistent income without losing your mind - Money shame, comparison, and the choice to be transparent  Whether you're barely breaking even or finally profitable, this honest conversation will help you get clear on YOUR number - not what everyone else is chasing. Sex, Pleasure & Communication

We need to talk about sex - the real, honest version that most of us never got growing up. I asked my group chats: "What would you tell your 25-year-old self about sex?" The answers revealed just how many of us are learning in our 30s what we should've known at 20. Because most women - especially Black women - weren't taught ABOUT sex. We were just told not to have it. In this episode, I'm sharing: - Why your pleasure matters (and why society taught us otherwise) - How communication is the foundation of good sex - What we need to unlearn from purity culture - How to honor your boundaries without apology - Why it's never too late to start prioritizing your sexual wellness Whether you're just starting to explore or realizing you've been putting everyone else's pleasure first - this conversation is for you. Sex is part of wellness, and it's time we stop treating it as taboo.
