    Ep. 8 | Michael Nielsen: Army Veteran, Hoka Hey Finisher and the Long Distance Charity Rider Behind Two Wheels to Survive Host Brad Columbus sits down with Michael Nielsen, an Army veteran and long distance charity rider who turns brutal, high-mileage endurance challenges into fundraising for causes he cares about. After 13 and a half years in the Army as a tanker, Michael was medically retired and went looking for a new way to serve. He found it on a Harley. Since then he’s ridden 22 national parks in a month for veteran suicide awareness, set a record with 20 thousand-mile days in a single year, and this summer finished the Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge: 11,893 miles in 17 days on paper directions, sleeping on the ground next to his bike. Most of his riding now raises money for Mile Monsters Inc., which helps families of boys battling Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
