    Dr. Eleanor Haspel-Portner

Dr. Eleanor Haspel-Portner's Background and Early Influences Dr. Haspel-Portner describes her early experiences with seeing auras and being sensitive to how people treated each other. She grew up as the youngest of five siblings, with significant age gaps, and faced challenges such as a difficult relationship with her brother and the loss of her father at age 15. Her mother was supportive in some ways, advocating for her in school, but less so in others. Her older sister Sandra was a major influence, introducing her to Jung and psychology. Dr. Haspel-Portner pursued higher education at the University of Chicago, influenced by her sister, and was drawn to psychology, feeling it was her calling. She emphasized the importance of credibility, aiming for a PhD to be taken seriously, especially given her interest in topics often dismissed as 'woo.' Development and Critique of Human Design and Noble Energy Maps Dr. Haspel-Portner discusses her work with Human Design, which she critiqued as incomplete and disempowering because it focuses only on the mental world. She developed the Noble Energy Maps, based on statistical analysis of 45,000 cases, integrating astrology, the Tree of Life, developmental psychology, and esoteric theory. She emphasizes that humans live in four worlds: mental, emotional/angelic, spiritual, and physical. She argues that traditional psychology addresses only 25% of human experience (the mental world), neglecting the other dimensions. Her Noble Energy Maps aim to empower individuals by recognizing their multi-dimensional consciousness and unique energy sensitivities, starting from infancy. Individuality and Uniqueness in Development and Education Dr. Haspel-Portner stresses that every individual is unique, as evidenced by her experience with thousands of Noble Energy Maps—no two charts are the same. She advocates for treating each child or client as an individual, adapting communication and educational approaches accordingly. She shares personal examples of moving her children between schools until they found the right fit, prioritizing their feedback over convenience. Both speakers discuss the importance of not imposing a mold on children and recognizing differences even among siblings or twins. This approach, they agree, fosters self-esteem, empowerment, and authentic self-expression. Therapeutic Practice and Service Orientation Dr. Haspel-Portner describes her therapeutic approach as entirely client-centered, focusing on the needs, desires, and state of being of the person she is serving. She emphasizes that therapy is not about the clinician's opinions or feelings but about empowering the client to discover and express their own needs. She warns against projecting one's own emotions or judgments onto clients or children, advocating for deep listening and attunement. This service orientation extends to all helping professions, where the goal should be to serve the unique needs of each individual rather than imposing preconceived solutions. Resources and Upcoming Events Dr. Haspel-Portner provides information about her website, noblesciences.com, where listeners can access a free Four Worlds Assessment. She also announces an upcoming master class on the Four Worlds, scheduled for June 18th, lasting approximately four hours. Interested individuals can email her to be added to the notification list. Wild Adventures with Ingrid

Transitioning Life Stages and Identity Beyond Parenting This week's conversation explores the experience of moving from active parenting to a new phase of life as children grow older or leave home. Both women reflect on the challenges and opportunities that come with this shift, such as redefining personal identity beyond roles like parent, spouse, or caretaker. Ingrid shares her own journey after her children were grown, including getting tattoos and learning to ride a motorcycle at age 56, as acts of reclaiming personal freedom and self-discovery. Reah discusses the adjustment to having fewer children at home and the sense of unfamiliarity and even guilt that can come with newfound free time. Both emphasize the importance of taking time for oneself, pursuing personal interests, and not falling into the trap of always caring for others at the expense of self. The discussion also touches on the spiritual and practical aspects of this transition, especially for women, and the need to find fulfillment and joy in activities outside of traditional caregiving roles. Writing, Creativity, and the Value of Sharing Personal Stories A significant portion of the discussion focuses on the process and value of writing, particularly memoirs and autobiographies. Both speakers are authors and share their experiences with writing and publishing. Reah describes her ongoing work on a memoir about turning 40, the challenges of restructuring the book, and the emotional benefits of writing, such as gaining clarity and processing relationships. Ingrid emphasizes that writing truthfully can open doors for readers to reflect on their own lives, even if the writing does not reach a wide audience. They discuss the impact that books can have on individuals, citing examples of books that changed their perspectives or lives. The conversation highlightes the importance of writing for oneself as well as for others, the therapeutic aspects of the creative process, and the ripple effect that sharing personal stories can have, even if it only helps one person. Both encourage others to write, regardless of commercial success, and reflected on the importance of being proud of creative work. Women’s Visibility, Wisdom, and Intergenerational Dialogue The speakers explore the theme of women’s visibility and the importance of honoring women’s identities and contributions. Ingrid recountes a formative childhood experience reading about Osa Johnson, whose name was omitted in a newspaper article, sparking a lifelong commitment to ensuring women are recognized for their achievements. This leads to a discussion about the tendency for women, especially as they age, to feel invisible or overlooked. Ingrid, who identifies as an elder and 'irreverent wise woman,' stresses the value of older women sharing their wisdom and experiences, both online and in person. She describes how her tattoos often spark conversations with younger people, creating opportunities for intergenerational exchange. Both speakers agree on the importance of women owning their stories, being proud of their accomplishments, and resisting societal pressures to diminish themselves. The conversation also touches on the need for women to support each other and to find pride in their creative and personal achievements. Cathy's Chuckle Club

This week, we meet Cathy, who runs a worm composting business in Canada, shares her journey from selling worms for indoor composting to discovering laughter yoga in 2012, which she began practicing seriously during the 2020 pandemic. She notes that laughter yoga, which involves laughing as a form of cardiovascular exercise, has significantly changed her life and is now focused on promoting mental health awareness globally. Cathy and Reah briefly discuss the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on society, including its effects on social interactions, work, and personal development. While some positive outcomes emerged, such as increased creativity and financial benefits for some, the overall societal impact was significant and multifaceted. Cathy and Reah discuss the origins of villainous behavior, agreeing that it is not inherent but develops over time, often due to unaddressed trauma and lack of understanding of accountability. Reah shares her personal experience of generational trauma, highlighting how healing and positive change typically begin in the third or fourth generation. They note that societal awareness of mental health issues, particularly since COVID-19, has helped in addressing these issues, but there is still a need for better education and support in dealing with trauma. Further, they discuss the increasing importance of mental health awareness across generations, noting that while age can influence learning, it's becoming more acceptable for people of all ages to continue growing and learning. They explore the potential of laughter yoga as a tool for promoting peace and reducing conflict, while Cathy shared her interest in worm composting as a solution for reducing landfill waste and improving soil nutrition.  Get to know Cathy via:  Links: https://www.cathyscomposters.com/ https://www.cathysclub.com/ https://www.cathyssprouters.com/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/cathynesbitt/ https://www.youtube.com/@CathyLaughter https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61559438955975 To learn more about Reah visit https://www.Falolity.net, and watch full videos and reels at https://www.YouTube.com/@reahhagues! #laughtermedicine, #medicinallaughter, #chuckleclub, #cathyschuckleclub, #falolityllc, #justthewhoofuspodcast, #reahhagues, #cathynesbitt, #podcasting, #podcast, #sharingstories, #mentalhealth, #healthylaughter, #laughterclub

    Mom Brain Crossover

In this cross-over episode, Ingrid and I talk respect for time, open conversation, setting examples, and more parenting reflection. Reah discusses her approach to managing her business and personal life, emphasizing the use of calendars and whiteboards to stay organized. She notes that as her children grew older, she became more reliant on structured planning to handle the various responsibilities.  Reah and Ingrid discuss how managing children's schedules becomes more organized as they grow older. Ingrid explains that natural rhythms are often disrupted by structured appointments and school schedules, suggesting that if children didn't have to attend school, they would follow more natural sleep and activity patterns. They agree that parents learn to handle multiple responsibilities more effectively over time, though Ingrid acknowledged that mothers typically bear the primary responsibility for childcare globally. They additionally discuss the challenges of transitioning from being a sole caretaker to sharing responsibilities in a cohabiting household. Reah shares her experience of adjusting to her husband taking on more parental responsibilities after years of being the primary caretaker as a single mother. Ingrid drew parallels to the concept of mastering and surrendering in the ancient runic wisdom system, comparing it to learning to ride a horse. They also emphasize the importance of loving and supporting children while acknowledging that parenting involves balancing safety, responsibility, and allowing children to develop as individuals as well as the challenges of teaching children responsibility, particularly regarding bringing their own jackets. They agree that different children have different maturity levels, making it difficult to set a specific age for when children should be accountable for their choices. Reah shares her approach of keeping extra items in her car trunk for emergencies and gradually transitioning children to responsibility as they demonstrate the ability to manage these tasks independently. Reah shares her experience managing different age groups in her family, particularly noting the challenge of adjusting support levels as children transition from toddlerhood to school age. She describes an incident where she initially assumed her child was being uncooperative with math homework, but later realized the child needed more detailed explanation after walking him through the problem. Ingrid acknowledges the balance parents face between helping children and ensuring they develop independence, noting that even manipulative behavior can sometimes stem from a desire for more parental attention. The pair also discusses the evolution of parenting styles and communication with adult children. Reah shares how her approach to conversations with her teenage daughters has changed over time, emphasizing the importance of respectful dialogue and distinguishing between respectful banter and defensive talking back. They discuss how power dynamics shift as children grow into adulthood, allowing for more equal and friendly relationships. Reah also reflects on how these insights have influenced her communication with her own mother, noting the importance of practicing respectful behavior she teaches her children. Healthy Mouth, Healthy Heart (with Dr. Feinberg)

In this episode, Reah interviews Dr. Edward Feinberg, a dentist with 70 years of documented experience in full mouth reconstruction and crown and bridge dentistry, who learned from his father, a pioneer in the field. Dr. Feinberg emphasizes the importance of understanding the correlation between oral health and heart health, which he discovered later in life. He discusses his mission to educate others about dental choices and the techniques he learned from his father, which are not commonly taught in dental schools today. Edward and Reah discusses the importance of dental care and the potential risks associated with cosmetic appearances over functionality. The pair highlight the stigma surrounding oral health issues and the need for better access to dental care, especially for those without insurance and emphasized that good oral hygiene does not guarantee immunity to dental problems and that such issues can arise due to various factors beyond personal care. Dr. Feinberg explains the importance of dental care, focusing on how tartar and plaque build-up can lead to gum inflammation and bone loss, which is a common cause of tooth loss. He emphasizes the role of regular X-rays in monitoring bone health and the need for preventive measures like regular cleanings. Dr. Feinberg also emphasizes how poor tooth architecture can lead to issues like food impaction and abnormal tooth wear, which crown and bridge procedures can help address and expresses satisfaction from seeing long-term success of his dental work, even in patients with underlying health conditions. Reah inquires about the impact of Edward's work, particularly that of him and his father, on the dental industry, to which Edward responds by highlighting the importance of research and preventive practices in improving dental health outcomes. Dr. Feinberg and Reah discuss the current state of dental technology and practices, particularly the overuse of implants and the decline in traditional crown and bridge skills among younger practitioners. Dr. Feinberg emphasizes the importance of using proven techniques, such as the mason jar cover model for crown preparation, which he attributed to his father and grandfather's methods from the early 20th century, noting that this approach results in better seal and longevity of restorations, contrasting with the current butt joint restorations that he believes are inadequate. He further discusses his approach to dentistry, emphasizing the importance of engineering principles and the need to replace dentistry when necessary, due to changes over time. He further explains his aim to create an ideal architecture for teeth, gums, and bone by bringing forces close to the supporting structures, which is not commonly achieved by other dentists. Dr. Edward Feinberg's goal is to promote health by ending periodontal bone loss and making it easier for patients to maintain clean dentistry. Introducing Dr. Kevin Smith

Dr. Kevin Smith, a board-certified chiropractor and functional medicine practitioner from Pittsburgh, joins us to discuss his dual approach to patient care, combining traditional chiropractic techniques for musculoskeletal issues with functional medicine for metabolic and systemic problems. He explains that while many people associate chiropractors with back pain, their primary focus is on ensuring the nervous system's health by relieving pressure on spinal nerves. His postdoctoral training in functional medicine allows him to address a wide range of health issues, including gut problems, thyroid disorders, and diabetes, beyond the traditional scope of chiropractic care. Dr. Kevin discussed his 25-year career in natural health and his focus on educating people about alternative treatments beyond drug therapy, noting that the United States and New Zealand are the only countries where TV drug ads are allowed. He additionally explains the difference between allopathic healthcare, which focuses on treating symptoms with chemicals, and functional medicine, which seeks to understand and address root causes of health issues. Dr. Kevin emphasizes that while medication has its place, people are often over-medicated and should explore various healing methods, including mental health, gut health, and natural treatments. For any health issue, it's best to start with the least invasive, non-toxic treatments first, such as diet changes or physical therapy, before considering more invasive options like surgery. Dr. Kevin and Reah discussed the dangers of over-reliance on medication and the importance of exploring non-invasive measures for health issues while emphasizing that many over-the-counter drugs can be harmful and highlighted the need to consider factors like diet, lifestyle, and environmental triggers. Reah shares her experience of raising teenagers to approach health issues holistically rather than immediately resorting to medication. They also touched on the significance of considering dietary and environmental factors in health management. Dr. Kevin further shares his experience about how his mother was advised to use margarine instead of butter, despite his warnings about its health risks. He explains that margarine is linked to various cancers and is nearly plastic in composition, while butter is healthier and how the food industry has historically added unhealthy ingredients to products, and expresses his belief that both the food and pharmaceutical industries intentionally harm consumers. While the food industry has changed over the years, there seems to be an increase in food allergies and sensitivities not due to exaggeration but rather due to intentional modifications in food production for economic reasons. Dr. Kevin emphasizes avoiding processed foods with trans fats, high fructose corn syrup, and unnecessary additives, advising Reah to focus on whole, unprocessed foods.
