    45. Make It Easy for Someone to Refer You | Marketing and Visibility

Somebody in your town just asked a Facebook group, “Does anybody know a good appliance repair company?” Your happy customer wanted to recommend you, but they couldn’t remember your name or find your page. That’s a lost job, and it’s fixable. In this episode, Ginny walks local service business owners through setting up their Facebook presence so people can tag you in seconds. You’ll hear why your personal page matters, what to use for your profile picture and public posts, how to build a business page that matches your Google Business Profile, and why asking new contacts to follow your page makes tagging easy. She also covers the top of your website, so visitors see who you are and how to reach you right away. If posting a hundred times a day isn’t realistic for you, this one is for you. Ginny explains how showing up in community groups and recommending other businesses first brings referrals back your way. Download the free guide, How to Grow Your Business Using Online Communities, at https://www.outcomeacademy.com/community. The Compound Marketing Machine™ group experience meets Tuesdays in November at 11:30 am Eastern on Zoom, starting November 3. 44. Stop Guessing Which Marketing Works: How to Track Where Your Best Customers Come From | Marketing and Visibility

Your phone can ring nonstop all month and you can still end it wondering why the business doesn’t feel any better. A ringing phone and a good customer aren’t the same thing, and most of us have never checked which of our marketing is bringing us the second kind. In this episode, Ginny walks through a simple four-step loop for local service business owners: define what a good customer looks like in your business, ask and record where every customer came from, follow each source through to see who booked, paid, and stayed, and decide where your next hour of marketing should go. You’ll hear why being seen is only the first question, how overproduction shows up in marketing when you post in six places and only two bring in the customers you want, how Cavalry Appliance records lead sources in ServiceWorks with a specific drop-down list, why it’s worth watching how much of your business depends on Google, and why charging professional fees helps you attract the right people. Ginny also shows how this fits into the marketing category of the Business Mountain Framework™ and what it looks like in Camp One and Camp Two.  Ready to build a marketing system that compounds? 42. How to Tell If Your Team Is Trained With One Question | Team and Systems

You showed somebody how to do a task once, they nodded, and then the day got busy. Was that training, or were they just shown? If you run a trades, lawn care, or bookkeeping business, that gap may be costing you more than you realize. I'm sharing the training system I built from my years as a medical laboratory scientist, why it was far too much paperwork for my husband Joe's appliance technicians at Cavalry, and what I kept after asking which parts actually protect the customer and the team. You'll hear the quick teach-back test, the four levels of training from shown to can teach, and the three kinds of proof that clear someone to work alone on a critical task. Along the way, I explain how to choose your 10 to 15 critical tasks with three simple questions, why moving someone back a level is a plan and not a punishment, and how a yearly check-in catches process drift. This one is for owners who are stretched thin and want their team to feel ready, not just hopeful. If it helps, follow the show and leave a quick review, then let's climb into this one together. 41. Four Sessions. One Reset. What Every New Climber Does First | Business Strategy

You finally decide to get serious about your business. Then Monday comes, a tech calls out, a customer needs a callback, and that big decision gets tucked in a drawer. If you've ever bought a course, a planner, or software and never really opened it again, this episode is for you. Ginny Seeley walks through the four onboarding sessions every new climber in the Eight Thousander Mastermind™ goes through, in a very specific order. She explains why fixing the loudest problem only treats symptoms, why a giant to-do list leaves you feeling more behind, and what fifteen years in a hospital lab taught her about never skipping setup. You'll hear the five camps of the Business Mountain Framework™ in plain language and why knowing your camp gives you permission to ignore problems that aren't yours yet. The order is simple: the map, which is finding your camp; the rope, which is an org chart built around seats instead of names; the compass, which is your brand kit plus your mission, vision, and values; and the pack, which is a brain dump sorted into sixteen categories so every idea has a home. This episode is for HVAC, plumbing, appliance repair, electrical, lawn care, and other local service business owners who feel scattered and want a clear first step this week. If this one helps, follow the show and share it with a business owner who needs a map.  Mentioned in This Episode: Find Your Camp quiz: outcomeacademy.com/findmycamp Map, Rope, Compass, Pack worksheet: CLICK HERE  Eight Thousander Mastermind™: outcomeacademy.com/summit Episodes 1, 3, 8, 10, 14, and 17: outcomeacademy.com/podcast monday.com  Thanks for listening to The Business Mountain Podcast. 40. Talk It, Draft It, Test It, Fix It: Building SOPs (That Actually Work) with AI | Team and Systems

Every business has at least one task that only goes right when you do it yourself. If you handed it to someone on your team tomorrow with nothing but a written set of instructions, would they get it right, or would your phone start ringing before lunch? In this episode, Ginny Seeley shows local service business owners how to use AI to turn one real task into a standard operating procedure that actually works. AI can write a beautiful SOP in about 30 seconds, but a polished document and a process your team can follow are two different things. Drawing on 15 years in the hospital laboratory and a decade in lab quality as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Ginny walks through her four step method: talk it, draft it, test it, fix it. And, she shares the exact AI prompt that keeps the tool from inventing steps you never said. You'll learn how to pick the first task to document, how to protect customer information before you paste anything into AI, why the testing step is the one that turns a document into a real system, and the four things every finished procedure needs. If you run an HVAC, plumbing, appliance repair, electrical, or lawn care business, you'll finish with one task to start on this week. 39. Your Busiest Service Might Be Your Least Profitable | Business Strategy

There's probably a service in your business that fills your calendar and keeps your phone ringing, and you'd tell anyone it's carrying the whole operation. But have you ever actually checked? For local service business owners in HVAC, plumbing, appliance repair, lawn care, and cleaning, busy and profitable aren't always the same thing. In this episode of The Business Mountain Podcast, Ginny Seeley explains why your revenue number and even a good monthly P&L can't tell you which service is paying you and which one is quietly eating your year. She introduces profit per hour touched, which counts every hour a job pulls out of your business, including drive time, estimates, follow-up calls, supply runs, office scheduling, chasing payment, and free callbacks. Then she walks through a simple five-step exercise and real-world examples, from a lawn care install that pays less per hour than a mowing route to a maintenance agreement that works as a front door for your best repair work. You'll learn how to rank your service lines, why front door services get judged on what they feed, and how to choose one decision for each line: raise the price, fix the process, keep it, or retire it. This episode is especially useful for Camp 1 and Camp 2 owners who want to price with confidence and stop guessing where their time goes. If this helps you, follow the show and share it with a business owner who needs it. Now grab a calculator and let's count some hours. 38. Why "Let Me Think About It" Isn't a No (and What to Do Next) | Team and Systems

Somewhere in your business right now there's an estimate that went out, got a "let me think about it," and then went quiet. Not a no, not a yes, just silence. If you own a local service business, a good chunk of the revenue you're chasing is probably already sitting in your inbox in a quote nobody has looked at in ten days. In this episode of The Business Mountain Podcast, Ginny Seeley walks through what happens after the estimate, drawing on the sales as a service training EJ of EJ's Appliances brought to the Cavalry Appliance Service team. You'll hear why "estimate sent" is a starting line and not a finish line, the two reasons follow-up doesn't happen (nobody owns it, and nobody wants to feel pushy), and the five things every open estimate needs: a stage, a last contact, a next action, a due date, and an owner. Ginny also breaks down the only three jobs a follow-up message can do and why "just checking in" never belongs in a customer's inbox. You'll leave with a fifteen-minute weekly review that turns a simple Camp 1 tracker into a Camp 2 habit in the Sales Operations category of the Business Mountain Framework, plus EJ's reframe that persuasion is helping someone finish a decision they already started. This one is for the owner who's tired of watching quotes disappear and wants a system that fits on an index card. If it helps, follow the show and share it with a business owner who needs it.
