    The Rocky Horror Picture Show The Comic Book #1 with Wick

    On this episode Matt and special guest co-host/Matt's podcasting nemesis Wick probably do "The Time Warp" while watching a "Science Fiction/Double Feature" before finally getting around to talking about 1990's THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW THE COMIC BOOK #1. First and foremost, Matt has a confession -- he's never seen THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW.  He wanted to.  He even tried to.  But then a soul crushing social situation in high school happened and Matt has never been able to seriously consider watching it ever again (does he change his mind by the end of this episode?  You have to listen and find out!) But don't worry dear listeners, Wick has not only seen THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW, it's been a huge part of his life both as a member of the audience and a participant in the show (he even interviewed THE Barry Bostwick on stage in front of a live audience). So as per usual, Matt has brought ignorance and his guest has brought expertise.  It's basically the Chromium way. Of course, since this is a comic book adaptation of a beloved movie, you are probably asking, "Does it do a good job capturing the feel of the movie?"  The short answer is: HAHA!  The long answer is: listen to the dang episode and stop expecting the show notes to do all of the work!     Lobo/Demon: Helloween with Eric Shonborn

    On this episode Matt and fellow trick or treating enthusiast Eric Shonborn spend Halloween on the moon talking about 1996's LOBO/DEMON: HELLOWEEN. With spooooooooky season hitting the halfway point it was about dang time that Matt enjoyed a comic being covered on the show.  And boy oh boy, Matt indeed LOVES this comic.  It's about The Demon tricking Lobo to do a job for him on the moon and eventually they both have to fight a world devouring dragon because it wants to eat them instead of Earth.  It's a blast!   So naturally Eric doesn't like it.  Fun is not his favorite.  But he does come around to enjoying the comic a little more after being hounded relentlessly by Matt.  Matt is the fun police.  The good kind. Plus, Eric warns of the peril posed by bringing Lobo to an open bar.  He also wonders why people expect stories to justify their own existence?     Night of the Living Dead: Zombie Genesis #1 with Frank Pittarese

    On this episode Matt and special guest co-host Frank Pittarese quickly come to the realization that they would rather face down an army of the undead than talk about 1994's NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD: ZOMBIE GENESIS #1. Technically this is a comic "based on" Matt's second favorite movie of all time, 1968's NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD.  But honestly, associating this comic with the movie at all is a gigantic insult to the movie.  If anything, this comic is more of a BAYWATCH "parody", which is not something one would expect when picking up a comic called NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD. Look, it's a really terrible, no good, horrendous, painful, downright awful comic - so Matt and Frank do their best to avoid talking about it, like the way you avoid making direct eye contact with a crazy person. Instead, Matt talks at length (big surprise there) about how and why NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD became such a significant part of his life, while Frank puts his years of editorial experience to use and explains to the listening audience what it takes to put together a successful comic based on a licensed property (spoiler alert: Frank wants all of you aspiring creators to do nothing that the creators of this "comic" did). Oh, and this comic isn't called NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD: ZOMBIE GENESIS, it's just NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD - but Matt finds that offensive on levels heretofore unknown, so he's added ZOMBIE GENESIS to the title.  It doesn't make the comic better, but it does further separate it from the movie, and today that counts as a win.     A Conversation with JD McGibney from Angels on the Battlefield

    On this extra special episode Matt has the honor of sitting down with JD McGibney (guitarist/composer from ANGELS ON THE BATTLEFIELD) for an incredible conversation that was supposed to be all about nerdy interests and how awesome JD's hair is, but instead evolves into a sometimes funny, often times moving discussion about mental health struggles and the work it takes to find peace within yourself. Regular listeners to Does This Come in Chromium will love getting to know JD.  From the first moments of the episode, he reveals himself to truly be one of the nicest and most thoughtful people in the world (who also just so happens to be an extraordinarily talented guitar player and composer).  With his band, ANGELS ON THE BATTLEFIELD, JD has not only found a vehicle to express the ups and downs of his own battles with anxiety and depression, but he's also striving to help others by empowering them to look within and find their strength to face the battles in their lives with courage.     Halloween #1 with Bobby Trippett

    On this episode Matt and the man responsible for teaching Michael Myers to drive, Bobby Trippett (co-host of the GRINDBIN PODCAST) hide in some bushes and yell at that little jerk Lonnie to get his ass away from the show so they can discuss 2000's HALLOWEEN #1. This is a comic based on Matt's all-time favorite movie, which means Bobby is as good as confined to Smith's Grove Sanitarium, forced to listen to near endless rantings of a lunatic, "Bobby, I watched the movie SIX TIMES (today)!" Bobby displays the patience of a man who is staring at a wall, not seeing the wall, looking past the wall to a time when Matt has finished attempting to create a verbal visual aid to help listeners better understand the different Halloween timelines.  It goes about as well as one would expect from Matt.     Generation X #1 with Bobby Trippett

    On this episode Matt and special guest co-host Bobby Trippett (from the GRINDBIN PODCAST) try their best to be totally radical and like, you know, all that and a bag of chips while discussing 1994's GENERATION X #1. If listeners should expect anything from X-Men related episodes of Chromium, it's that Matt really doesn't know anything about the X-Men family - but does that stop him from constantly interrupting and talking over Bobby (the actual expert on the topic)?  Nope, not at all.  In fact, he does it more than usual.  There's a reason the episode clocks in at just over three hours.  That reason's name is Matt. While Bobby, ever the consummate podcast pro, stays laser focused on expressing his love for GENERATION X and making sure that the listeners actually learn things about the characters and storyline, Matt makes a clumsy pitch for paying subscribers and recalls a time he was derisively called "gen x" by an elderly man in a grocery store. But it's cool because both Bobby and Matt agree that Gavin Rossdale would've killed it as Chamber in a movie and more importantly that people need to stop making fun of them for thinking that Bush is a pretty awesome band.     The Shadow and Doc Savage #'s 1 and 2 with Robby Robertson

    On this episode Matt and special guest co-host Robby Robertson try to figure out why someone would even want to eat the bitter fruit of a weed while discussing 1995's THE SHADOW AND DOC SAVAGE #'s 1 and 2. Matt and Robby have been friends in the podcast world for a few years now, but Matt realized that he really didn't know anything about Robby - like is he really a chef?  And a doctor?  Does he really come from Georgia?  The answer to all of those is yes, but that barely scratches the surface of just how cool Robby is. After we get to know Robby, then it's all about The Shadow!  And to a lesser extent, Doc Savage (sorry, but both Matt and Robby know more about The Shadow -- so if you're listening and happen to be a Doc Savage expert, reach out and we'll do an episode together!).  It's cool though, The Shadow and Doc Savage beat up Nazis together.  So even if Matt and Robby don't know much about this Doc Savage fellow, they know he's awesome because he beats up Nazis.  And really, what else do you need to know? If you like food, cooking, old time radio, stories about growing up, pulp heroes, and a passing mention of Night Man - then this is the episode for you!
