    Bible Study with Pastor Los | Jesus Feeds Five Thousand | The Gospel of John (6:1-15)

    What do you do when you look at your circumstances and realize, “I don’t have enough”? In John 6:1–15, Jesus feeds more than 5,000 people with just five barley loaves and two fish. But this miracle is about so much more than Jesus providing food—it’s about learning to trust who Jesus is when what we have feels completely insufficient. Philip looked at the crowd and saw what they couldn’t do. Andrew looked at five loaves and two fish and saw what they didn’t have. But Jesus already knew what He was going to do. Maybe you’ve been saying, “I can’t.” “We don’t have enough.” “There’s no way this can work.” And maybe Jesus is reminding you today: You can’t—but He can. In this episode, we talk about trusting Jesus as our provider, learning to see beyond our temporary circumstances, being spiritually filled by Christ—the Bread of Life—and remembering that nothing is wasted in God’s hands. Your pain, your brokenness, your failures, your struggles, and even the things you wish you could take back can be surrendered to Jesus. He can take what looks insignificant and use it for His glory. Jesus doesn’t just give us enough to survive. He fills us, and His goodness overflows. So wherever you are today, keep your eyes fixed on Jesus. Bring Him what you have—even if it feels like five loaves and two fish—and trust Him with what only He can do. Are you looking at what you can’t do—or are you trusting in what Jesus can do?     Bible Study with Pastor Los | The Gospel of John (5:31-47)

    What if you can know the Bible… and still not know God? In John 5:31–47, Jesus confronts religious leaders who searched the Scriptures, studied God’s Word, and knew the text—but completely missed the Person the Scriptures were pointing to: Jesus. In this episode, Pastor Los unpacks the three witnesses Jesus gives to testify about who He is: John the Baptist, Jesus’ own teachings and miracles, and God the Father Himself. But Jesus takes it even deeper when He says, “You search the Scriptures because you think they give you eternal life. But the Scriptures point to me!” This is a heart check for all of us. Are we coming to God’s Word with a humble heart that is willing to be changed and transformed? Or are we searching Scripture simply to prove our opinions, defend our positions, or find arguments for what we already believe? Because there’s a difference between knowing the Word of God and knowing the God of the Word. In this episode, Pastor Los challenges us to stop simply searching the Scriptures—and allow the Scriptures to search us. Are you reading God’s Word to know Him—or just to support what you already believe? My prayer is that we would come to Scripture with humble hearts, allowing God’s Word to correct us, convict us, transform us, and make us more like Jesus.     Maybe Desperation Isn’t Your Problem—What You’re Reaching For Is | Mark 5

    Are you desperate for Jesus—or are you just around Him? In Mark 5, we meet a woman who had been suffering for 12 years. She had spent everything she had searching for healing, but nothing worked. Then she heard about Jesus. In the middle of a crowd, she fought her way through just to touch His robe, believing that if she could only reach Jesus, everything could change. But there’s a deeper question in this story: Are we actually reaching for Jesus, or are we just part of the crowd? In this episode, Pastor Los shares a vulnerable part of his own story of walking through deep grief, desperation, and loss—and realizing that in his pain, he was reaching for things that could never give him what only Jesus could. Sometimes desperation isn't the worst place to be. Sometimes it's the place where we finally realize how badly we need Jesus. Maybe you've been holding onto bitterness, grief, sin, control, temporary pleasures, or something else that's keeping you from reaching for Him. Maybe you've been around Jesus for a long time, but you've never truly surrendered to Him. This is your heart check: Are you a spectator of Jesus, or are you reaching for Jesus? Because the robe didn't heal the woman. Her faith in the One wearing the robe did.     Bible Study with Pastor Los | The Gospel of John (5:16-30)

    Who is Jesus really? A prophet? A teacher? The Messiah? Or is He God in the flesh? In this episode of Heart Check Podcast, Pastor Los continues through the Gospel of John and teaches through John 5:16–30, where Jesus makes some powerful statements about His relationship with God the Father. When the religious leaders confront Jesus for healing on the Sabbath, Jesus tells them: “My Father is always working, and so am I.” — John 5:17 (NLT) That statement wasn't just controversial—it was a direct claim about who Jesus is. Jesus goes on to speak about His authority to give life, His authority to judge, His unity with the Father, and the honor He deserves. In this episode, we’ll unpack what Scripture teaches about Jesus being fully God and fully human, His willingness to submit to the Father's will, and why knowing who Jesus truly is isn't just a theological debate—it is foundational to our faith.     Bible Study with Pastor Los | The Gospel of John (5:1-15)

    What if Jesus looked directly at the place where you’ve been stuck and asked you a simple question: “Would you like to get well?” In Episode 35 of Heart Check Podcast, Pastor Los continues through the Gospel of John and dives into one of Jesus’ most powerful miracles—healing a man who had been sick for 38 years at the Pool of Bethesda. But this story is about so much more than physical healing. Jesus speaks directly to the heart of this man—and to ours.     Bible Study with Pastor Los | The Gospel of John (4:39-54)

    What happens when something we know so well becomes something we no longer appreciate? In this episode of Heart Check Podcast, Pastor Los continues through the Gospel of John in John 4:39–54, picking up right after Jesus’ encounter with the Samaritan woman. The Samaritan woman encounters Jesus, realizes that He truly knows her and loves her, and immediately runs to tell others about Him. The people of her town eventually encounter Jesus for themselves and declare that He is “the Savior of the world.” But when Jesus returns to Galilee, we’re reminded that familiarity can sometimes keep us from recognizing who Jesus truly is. And if we’re not careful, the same thing can happen to us. We can grow up hearing the Gospel, going to church, reading our Bibles, and talking about Jesus so often that we allow the greatest story ever told to become just another story. Jesus can become so familiar that we lose our awe, our reverence, and our hunger for Him. In this episode, we talk about: Jesus knows you—and He loves you.The Gospel is for everyone.Your testimony can point people toward Jesus.Don’t get discouraged when someone doesn’t immediately believe.Don’t let familiarity with Jesus rob you of your awe of Jesus.Are you following Jesus because of who He is—or only because of what He can do?Our faith should radically transform the way we live. My prayer is that we would never let the Gospel become mundane, but that every day we would encounter Jesus with fresh awe, surrender, and worship.

    Bible Study with Pastor Los | The Gospel of John (4:1-38)

    What happens when Jesus meets you in the middle of your brokenness—and knows everything about you? In this episode of Heart Check Podcast, Pastor Los continues through the Gospel of John and dives into one of the most powerful stories in Scripture: Jesus and the Samaritan woman at the well. In John 4, Jesus intentionally travels through Samaria—a place most Jewish people would avoid—and begins a conversation with a Samaritan woman. She was an outsider. She was carrying a complicated past. She was trying to avoid people. But Jesus was waiting for her. “But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life.” — John 4:14 (NLT) This woman came to the well looking for physical water, but Jesus offered her something so much greater: Living Water. Throughout their conversation, Jesus doesn't ignore her past or avoid the truth about her life. He brings it into the light. Not to shame her. Not to condemn her. But to reveal who He is and what He came to do. Jesus meets us where we are, but He loves us too much to leave us there. Pastor Los breaks down the powerful cultural and biblical context behind this story and explores what it means to truly be satisfied in Jesus. Because the truth is, we can keep going back to the wells of this world—relationships, success, sex, money, validation, and temporary pleasures—but eventually, we will become thirsty again. Only Jesus can satisfy the deepest thirst of our souls. This episode also dives into Jesus' call to worship the Father in Spirit and in truth. We don't have to choose between the truth of God's Word and the power of the Holy Spirit. We need both. And after the Samaritan woman encounters Jesus, everything changes. She leaves her water jar behind and runs back to her village to tell everyone about the man who knew everything she had ever done. That's what happens when you truly encounter Jesus. You can't keep the Good News to yourself. Jesus reminds His disciples that the fields are already ripe for harvest, and we have the opportunity to participate in God's mission by sharing the Gospel, making disciples, and helping people come to know Him. The Samaritan woman came to the well carrying her past. But she left knowing the Messiah. What are you continuing to go back to for satisfaction that only Jesus can truly provide? And are you willing to let Jesus speak truth into the areas of my life that need healing, repentance, and transformation? Jesus knows everything about you.Jesus sees every part of your story.And He still invites you to come to Him.     Bible Study with Pastor Los | The Gospel of John (3:30)

    What happens when we stop making it about us and start making it all about Jesus? In this episode of Heart Check Podcast, Pastor Los dives into one of the most powerful and challenging verses in the Gospel of John: “He must become greater and greater, and I must become less and less.” — John 3:30 (NLT) John the Baptist’s disciples were concerned because more people were following Jesus than John. But John understood something that every follower of Jesus—and especially every Christian leader—needs to remember: the goal was never to build our platform. The goal is to point people to Jesus. Pastor Los gets real about his own journey into ministry, wrestling with feelings of inadequacy, his past, his failures, and the question, “Who am I to do this?” Through 1 Corinthians 1:26–31, we’re reminded that God doesn’t call us because we have everything figured out. He chooses ordinary, unlikely, and imperfect people so that He gets the glory. This episode is a reminder that “less of me” doesn’t mean thinking less of yourself. It means recognizing who lives inside of you. The power isn’t in our strength, our intelligence, our abilities, our platform, or our accomplishments. It’s Jesus in us.
