    S4E14 - Good Choice Pantry - Dignity for Our Neighbors

    Thank you Executive Director Peggy Morache & Operations Manager Christopher Palkow for having me come volunteer at their amazing food pantry. Located at 120 S Pavilion Center Drive, LV, in the campus of the United Methodist Church. However, if you listen to this model and mission, you'll see it's just another neighborhood grocery store, where anyone can come and get the meals they deserve to have. The Good Choice Pantry was originally founded in 2020 as a response to COVID 19 and has evolved into a formal 501 C 3 - stable of almost 6 years for Summerlin. It gives everyone access to basic needs, that no one should have to make a sacrifice about. The cost of not taking a stand is going to ripple, so please I challenge you to make time. Download the CIVIC CHAMPS APP find --> Desert Springs Community Resource Center under DISCOVER and location and -> SIGN UP FOR A SHIFT NOW. How to get food if you need it: Food Distribution Schedule - Walk In Only, served in numercial order. Chairs and cool courtyard available to wait in. Please do not arrive more than 30 minute prior to opening times! Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, and the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Saturdays of each month from 10am – 1pm. Thursdays from 3:30pm to 6:30pm. Being able to provide dignity is key to helping anyone go through an unforeseen jobless or illness. As senior citizen costs continue to rise we see the dollar going less and less, so giving them access and support is essential to a caring and calm community.

You don't have to do everything alone! Trying to figure out every single piece of business by yourself is exhausting. Surrounding yourself with people who have walked the path before you, asking questions, and leaning on a supportive community will save you so much stress and give you the confidence to grow.  While I don't have any specific public events on the calendar right now, my doors are open! I am currently accepting new bookkeeping clients and love offering complimentary discovery calls for any business owner who wants to bring clarity and peace of mind to their financial picture.  Starting my bookkeeping business has been one of the most challenging things I've ever done because I am not a risk-taker by nature. Stepping away from the familiar into the unknown was genuinely scary! But I felt a strong drive inside, and finding my mentor group gave me the courage to learn, grow, and take that leap. Pushing through that fear proved to me that when you know in your heart you're meant to do something, you don't have to be fearless to make it happen.

    S4E6-Hyde & Seek Immersive Dark Romance Experience

    I want to come back to something that really stands out about the Hyde & Seek story. Chelsey and Tristen are not waiting for someone else to create the opportunity they have been looking for. They are building it themselves. They've taken backgrounds in beauty, entrepreneurship, escape rooms, storytelling, creativity, family, and imagination—and they're combining those experiences to create something new. And that takes courage. Especially when there isn't a blueprint. Especially when resources are limited. Especially when people don't immediately understand the vision. But perhaps that's what makes the story worth telling. The people who change an industry aren't always the ones who fit perfectly into what already exists. Sometimes, they're the people who looked around and said: What if we created something different? Hyde & Seek is actively looking for investors and a permanent space to continue growing their vision and bringing immersive storytelling experiences to life. Their story is still being written.
