    Addiction, Faith, & Sober Houses

    At just 13 years old, Marc began smoking pot, setting him on a downward spiral that led to addiction, poor choices, and multiple trips to jail. But his story didn't end there. Through a sober house, Marc found the help he needed to get clean—and discovered something even greater along the way: God. Now a new believer with a growing faith and a heart for helping others, Marc believes that with God, anything is possible. After a year of sobriety, he came across a large house in Maine and could envision something bigger than himself: a place where other men could find the same hope and freedom he had experienced. Today, Chris’ Haven of Hope is open, offering men a fresh start through structure, accountability, and a brotherhood of men pursuing the same goal: staying clean and building a new life.

    The Heart of the Gospel is NOT Checking off Boxes

    What does it look like to trust God when you don’t have an answer to “Why?” In this episode, we sit down with the president of the Fellowship of Evangelical Churches (FEC) to hear the story behind his faith, leadership, and passion for reaching people with the Gospel. He opens up about growing up without a dad and the lasting impact of missing that father figure in his life. He also shares how he learned to trust God even when the answers didn’t come. We talk about the challenge of balancing a demanding job that requires a lot of travel with his commitment to putting his family first. He gives insight into the FEC’s growing vision of planting churches across the country and now internationally in Africa. But perhaps most importantly, he shares a personal lesson he had to learn: you can spend your life trying to please God, checking all the right boxes, doing all the right things—and still find yourself lonely. This is a conversation about faith, family, leadership, trusting God in the unknown, and discovering that following Jesus is about far more than simply checking the boxes.

    God Was Calling Me... I Didn't Recognize It

    In this episode, Justin sits down with a man who spent much of his life living without God, even while feeling for years that God was calling him to something more. He shares what changed when he finally chose to follow Jesus—and why faith is about so much more than simply showing up to church on Sunday. He talks about looking for everyday opportunities to make a difference, whether that means having a meaningful conversation with someone while he’s out and about or simply taking the time to connect with the people around him. One of his greatest joys has been watching his own two children make the decision to follow Jesus for themselves. His story is a reminder that faith isn't meant to stay inside the walls of a church—it’s meant to shape the way we live, love, and interact with people every day.

    I Had My Life And That Was It

    Justin sits down with a music teacher who uses our church building to teach from. Music has been a huge part of his life. From playing instruments at a young age, to studying at Berklee College of Music, to traveling with a band, he spent years pursuing music and doing life on his own terms. He grew up going to church, but when he started asking deeper questions about God and faith, the people around him didn't have the answers he was looking for. So, for years, he walked away and pursued his own path. Then, one day in an airport, he picked up a Bible. What started as a simple moment turned into something he couldn't walk away from. As he read, he began to see his life—and the choices he'd been making—in a completely different way. Now, as a Christian, his passion for music has taken on a whole new meaning. In this episode, he shares his story of growing up in church, searching for answers, and finding God in an unexpected place.

    What can decades of building businesses, serving people, coaching soccer, and simply living life teach us about success? In this episode, Justin sits down with a man who has built multiple successful businesses throughout his lifetime—and whose work has always been about more than making a living. He shares how serving people has shaped the way he approaches business, leadership, and relationships, along with a lesson he learned early in life as an only child: the danger of becoming too focused on yourself. We also talk soccer, including some of the coaching techniques he’s used over the years, and dive into a topic that seems increasingly relevant today: respect. From business to coaching to everyday relationships, he explains why everything in business is ultimately “eye to eye”—person to person.

    52 Years at Hannaford... This is What I Learned

    In this episode, Justin sits down with a man who spent an incredible 52 years working for Hannaford—starting with stocking shelves, moving into management, and eventually returning to stocking shelves during his final few years. He shares about growing up in Catholicism and eventually coming to know Christ as a young man. He talks about attending a small church, the story of meeting his wife, and raising a family. He also talks about something every Christian can benefit from: the importance of putting in the work to study God's Word—not simply reading the Bible, but taking the time to understand it and allowing it to shape the way we live. And what does all of this have to do with small groups at Moss Brook Church? More than you might think. His story is a powerful reminder of why we need Christian community, why we need people who will walk alongside us, and why doing life together matters.
