    Episode 4 | Feeling, Failing & Faith

In this deeply personal episode of Healing the Heartache, Jen and Andy explore the reality that healing doesn't happen overnight. Whether recovering from childhood trauma, emotional abuse, betrayal, divorce, or painful life experiences, healing often happens gradually—one experience, one realization, and one courageous decision at a time. Through personal stories, vulnerable conversations about their marriage, and powerful scriptural examples, they discuss why emotional wounds sometimes resurface even when we believe we've made significant progress. One of the episode's most meaningful illustrations comes from the biblical account of Jesus healing a blind man in stages. After the first touch, the man sees people resembling trees. Only after Christ touches his eyes again does his vision become clear. This becomes a beautiful metaphor for emotional and spiritual healing: Just because we aren't fully healed doesn't mean the miracle isn't happening. Jen shares how past experiences can influence present emotions and relationships, and how learning to recognize triggers, create emotional safety, and release painful feelings to the Savior has helped her continue healing. Together, they emphasize that healing requires both personal effort and divine assistance. Sometimes doing the work means confronting difficult emotions. Other times, it means allowing ourselves to rest, receive love, ask for help, or simply acknowledge what we're feeling. The episode ultimately reminds listeners that Christ doesn't abandon us in the middle of our healing. We are seen, heard, and loved—even when the process takes longer than we hoped. *Apple Podcasts - https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/healing-the-heartache-with-jen-andy-dollar/id1869169567  *Spotify - https://open.spotify.com/show/4qpL5JmnqlChh6v8meCgBR?si=d135bbfcab034fae  *YouTube Podcasts - https://www.youtube.com/@HealingtheHeartache/podcasts  *Amazon Music Podcasts - https://music.amazon.com/podcasts/d3f07a93-f307-4eb4-9646-19eb63bba971/healing-the-heartache-with-jen-andy-dollar  *iHeartRadio Podcasts - https://www.iheart.com/podcast/269-healing-the-heartache-with-317432714/  CONNECT WITH THE “HEALING THE HEARTACHE PODCAST” *Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/healingtheheartachepodcast/  *TikTok - https://www.tiktok.com/@healheartache  *YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/@HealingtheHeartache/podcasts  *Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61586518442884  *Email for general messages - healingtheheartachepodcast@gmail.com  *Collab with us - healingtheheartachepodcast@gmail.com  *Sponsor Us - healingtheheartachepodcast@gmail.com  WE LOVE MAIL AND CARE PACKAGES!:  Email us for address: healingtheheartachepodcast@gmail.com  PRODUCTION CREDITS: Recorded at Mindset Content Creation Studios Produced by Tommy Moore Brought to you by Vodcasts by Tommy Moore Presents - https://www.instagram.com/vodcasts_by_tommymoore/ HASHTAGS  #healingtheheartache  #christianpodcast  #healing #traumahealing #soulintheflow #tommymoorepresents #tommymoore #vodcastsbytommymoore  KEYWORDS Healing the Heartache Podcast, Jesus, Jesus Christ, Jen Dollar, Andy Dollar, Tommy Moore, Tommy Moore Presents, Vodcast By Tommy Moore

Episode 3 | Faith And Garbage Cans

This episode is a deeply vulnerable conversation about what it really means to move forward in faith after trauma, betrayal, grief, and disappointment. Jen and Andy explore faith not as a neat or simple idea, but as something lived out in messy, everyday moments—whether that is praying over a garbage can during a windstorm, grieving lost dreams, processing guilt after loss, or learning how to trust again after heartbreak. Jen shares how healing is rarely linear. Even as a trauma integration specialist, she admits there are still wounds surfacing, trust still being rebuilt, and old pain that can still be triggered. Andy reflects on grief, including knowing ahead of time that Jess’s time was short and the guilt he carried afterward. Together, they talk about how prayer, scripture, forgiveness, boundaries, self-compassion, and community all play a role in healing. A central thread of the episode is the difference between moving forward in faith and moving forward with faith. One speaks to taking the next step even when you do not know the outcome. The other speaks to walking in relationship—with God, with trusted people, and with a growing trust in yourself. The episode ultimately lands on this truth: healing requires movement, but not rushing. It requires faith, but also action. It requires forgiveness, but also boundaries. And above all, it requires love—God’s love, love for others, and learning to love yourself again. *Apple Podcasts - https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/healing-the-heartache-with-jen-andy-dollar/id1869169567  *Spotify - https://open.spotify.com/show/4qpL5JmnqlChh6v8meCgBR?si=d135bbfcab034fae  *YouTube Podcasts - https://www.youtube.com/@HealingtheHeartache/podcasts  *Amazon Music Podcasts - https://music.amazon.com/podcasts/d3f07a93-f307-4eb4-9646-19eb63bba971/healing-the-heartache-with-jen-andy-dollar  *iHeartRadio Podcasts - https://www.iheart.com/podcast/269-healing-the-heartache-with-317432714/  CONNECT WITH THE “HEALING THE HEARTACHE PODCAST” *Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/healingtheheartachepodcast/  *TikTok - https://www.tiktok.com/@healheartache  *YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/@HealingtheHeartache/podcasts  *Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61586518442884  *Email for general messages - healingtheheartachepodcast@gmail.com  *Collab with us - healingtheheartachepodcast@gmail.com  *Sponsor Us - healingtheheartachepodcast@gmail.com  WE LOVE MAIL AND CARE PACKAGES!: Email us for address: healingtheheartachepodcast@gmail.com  PRODUCTION CREDITS: Recorded at Mindset Content Creation Studios Produced by Tommy Moore Brought to you by Vodcasts by Tommy Moore Presents - https://www.instagram.com/vodcasts_by_tommymoore/ HASHTAGS #healingtheheartache  #jendollar #podcast  #healing #tramacoaching #soulintheflow #tommymoorepresents #tommymoore #vodcastsbytommymoore  KEYWORDS Healing the Heartache Podcast, Jesus, Jesus Christ, Jen Dollar, Andy Dollar, Tommy Moore, Tommy Moore Presents, Vodcast By Tommy Moore

Episode 2 - Facing Your Goliath: Fear, Trauma, and the Courage to Heal

In this episode of Healing the Heartache, Jen and Andy Dollar talk about the “Goliaths” that show up in real life—grief, anxiety, trauma triggers, betrayal, fear, shame, and complicated relationships. Jen explains why avoiding pain doesn’t actually protect us (because trauma keeps replaying through triggers, relationships, and even our connection with God). They connect trauma work to the gospel: truth over stories, boundaries that protect peace, and courage that doesn’t require armor. A major thread is Jen’s experience watching the Elizabeth Smart documentary and how it surfaced old trauma—followed by a real-time boundary moment. The episode emphasizes that justice and peace are not the same thing—not everyone gets an apology or “courtroom closure,” but everyone can learn to come home to peace through truth, healing work, humility, and letting God in. They close by reminding their listeners that they’re not alone—and that God has placed people around them as support. Episode 1 - When Healing Doesn't Look Like You Thought it Would

In this opening episode of Healing the Heartache, Jen and Andy Dollar introduce why they’re launching the show: because they’ve lived through grief, betrayal, trauma, and the messy middle of healing—and they don’t want anyone else to feel alone in it. They talk candidly about: Jen’s commitment to radical honesty (“no topic off-limits”), shaped by her healing journey and her belief that shame grows in secrecy. How safety in a relationship can soften “armor,” reduce control, and allow real vulnerability.Grief experiences (including hospice and end-of-life moments) and how faith reframes healing, timing, and what it means to “be healed.”Triggers as both frustrating and useful—revealing where healing still needs to happen. The unique complexity of blended-family grief: loving a spouse deeply while also navigating the presence of a deceased spouse in family stories, memories, and anniversaries. The episode closes with their shared mission: to show people it’s safe to be vulnerable, safe to be messy, and that they’re not alone—Jen and Andy will walk with them.
