Jonnathan Menendez - Blended Families, Father Wounds, and the Word That Never Loses Its Flavor

Jonnathan Menéndez didn't ease into fatherhood — he married into it. When he and his wife came home from their wedding, he was suddenly a husband and a father to her eight-year-old daughter, with no runway to prepare and no manual to follow. Jonathan serves as groups minister at Josh's church in Dallas, and this year he founded Transformative Fatherhood, a venture built to help overwhelmed new dads move from identity crisis to clarity, confidence, and compassion. This conversation traces Jonathan's own story — a father who was physically present but emotionally and spiritually absent, the anger and need for approval that grew out of that absence, and the "two for one" transition into a blended family that forced him to learn fatherhood on the job. From there, Jonathan lays out the framework behind Transformative Fatherhood: Heal, Grow, Build — healing from the past, growing in present knowledge and skill, and building intentionally toward the family you want to become. Josh and Jonathan also get into the theology of work — why God is the first entrepreneur, why building something isn't in competition with ministry, and why this cultural moment offers a wider door into entrepreneurship than ever before. The conversation closes on secure attachment, generational cycles, and why Jonathan says Scripture is the one thing you can chew on for years and it never loses its flavor. Chris Moles - Entitlement, the Abusive Heart, and What Jesus Actually Said About Power

Chris Moles is a pastor and biblical counselor who has spent over twenty years working inside batterer intervention programs alongside his vocational ministry. In this conversation, Chris defines domestic abuse, traces its root in pride and entitlement, and challenges the version of biblical manhood that rejects passivity only to embrace a different kind of harm. He walks through what Jesus actually modeled about power — not power over, but power under — and gives men a practical framework for examining their own hearts, confronting sin in others, and responding well when someone they love has been harmed. Billy Raies - Fatherhood, the Fear of Man, and Living the Text

Pastor Billy Raies has been in the same pulpit in Midland, Texas for thirty-three years. He still gets up at four in the morning on Sundays — not because he's disciplined, but because he knows how much he needs God to show up. In this Father's Day conversation with his son Josh, Billy talks about the weekly rhythm of pastoral ministry, how to engage Scripture vocationally without it becoming an assignment, the swan song moment that reoriented his vision for legacy, and what happens when you ask a waiter how you can pray for them. Honest, pastoral, and grounded in the gospel from start to finish. Pain Pt. 2 - Understanding, Managing, and Training Through Pain

Part two of our pain series is all application. In part one we built a theology of pain — what it is, where it comes from, and what God says about it. Now we answer the question every man actually wants answered: what do you do with it? In this episode Josh and Nick break down the difference between acute and chronic pain, walk through the RICE protocol and where it holds up and where it doesn't, and get into the nuance around NSAIDs — when they can be a legitimate tool and when they become a crutch. They also make the case for isometrics as one of the most underused tools in pain management and rehabilitation, and close with injury-specific protocols for the three areas most men are actually dealing with — shin splints, knee pain, and back pain. Nick is currently managing a herniated L5. Josh's seasonal allergies spike his knee. This isn't theory. Closes on Hebrews 12:1-4.
