    should I just delete everything??? I got so close to deleting the hot mum era for good… but I am still here!! and this is why.

    My worst Youtube video EVER, starting a whole new instagram, and feeling scared of having a brand called "Hot Mum Era" if my colleagues ever found out. After a crappy week, I was literally considering getting rid of everything. Should I just... forget about? Give up and stick to my day job? That would be the easiest thing to do. Or would it?     21. being a working mum, dealing with daily fatigue... and then making a mistake on a patient. 😮‍💨 and what I'm doing about it

    Managing fatigue at work because I'm a mother to 3 small children is not for the faint-hearted. And then at work last week, the worst happened... I made a mistake on a patient. Thankfully she is fine, everything got sorted out, but I lost hours of sleep over it, and it actually helped me to further accept my fatigue, instead of denying it and pretending I'm okay. Because that's actually when the worst happens. What we navigate as working mums is very real, and it's about time we owned it.     20. I thought I needed more money to make me less stressed as a mum, instead *this* is what I needed 💸💸

    Money has always been so stressful for me for as long as I can remember - and then becoming a mum just meant it was even worse. I always had to rely on Afterpay, I'd barely get through a fortnight trying to pay for everything, but what I was so confused about was that for a mum, I'm always working SO hard, so why am I always running out of money? If only I just had an extra $100-200 a fortnight to get me through - but why the heck is that? Because this week, I didn't need it, and after years of making these changes around my money, my stress is finally dissipating.     19. how having no family around means that no one is there to support you through those big life chapters (kids, weddings...)

    This week I just felt *off* like... flat. And when I talked to my sister, who has just gotten engaged a couple of months ago, we realised we were both feeling the same vibes of the sadness that comes with not having family around in your day to day life to support you through those big life events (or chapters - because planning a wedding can take months, and having children, well - that goes for literal years).     18. this time last year I was in survival mode... and now I don't even need to clean every week. Capacity changes with our seasons 🤍

    I used to freak out when we would have busy days, or busy seasons, at full capacity - to the point I couldn't even clean up after dinner or at least before I went to bed. I would have thoughts like - "is this just my life now?!" and honestly? The answer is NO. This is not about pressuring ourselves to "be better" - better at cleaning, better at keeping up, or the opposite - better at letting go of the mess, better at being a chill mum. This is about a deeper understanding of ourselves than that.     17. a special ep: sometimes "going for it" in your life doesn't look like fireworks or a Hollywood movie moment... it's little lights along the way ✨

    I always dreamed of quitting my job and having that classic movie moment where I could hand in my resignation, feeling fed up, tell my boss where to go, and walk out feeling super confident and free, going home to a thriving online business. But... the past 6 years have taught me that the more I dreamt of that, the more I resented my job, and the more I was DESPERATE for something to "work" online, the more I was actually pushing it away. Instead, leaning into small actions, and stayed attuned to my own soul, has been the more realistic image of going for what I want.     16. what to do when you feel overwhelmed like everything is just TOO MUCH for you to handle - my guiding principle I always come back to. 😇

    You know those days when you can't be bothered to be a mum? Literally everything feels like too much, it all feels too hard, and you would much rather collapse on the couch with some pancakes than deal with your own children? It’s those days where I always come back to my favourite guiding principle: NAIL. THE. BASICS. If you ran a pub, but you didn’t nail the basics (cold beer, good food, good atmosphere), it wouldn’t matter how much effort you put in - you wouldn’t have a good business.
