Jeremy McCandless | Creating Podcasts and Bible Study Resources  Episode Notes: Welcome back to The Renewed Mind. I’m so glad you’re tuning in today.  If you’ve ever nursed a grudge so carefully that it practically became a family pet, feeding it three meals a day, walking it around the block, and giving it its own cozy spot on the couch, welcome. We’ve all been there. We sometimes hold onto old offenses like prized family heirlooms, polishing them every time someone mentions that one person's name.  Over the last two episodes, we’ve tackled physical and emotional exhaustion, as well as the runaway alarm system of anxious thoughts. Today, we are stepping into what might be the heaviest, yet most liberating, territory we’ve covered so far: healing from emotional wounds and dismantling bitterness." Send us Fan Mail To purchase the book on which the podcast series is based. Go to: The Renewed Mind: A Spiritual Path to Overcoming Depression and Anxiety. eBook : McCandless, Jeremy R: Amazon.co.uk: Kindle Store The Renewed Mind Podcast is a monthly podcast based on my 2025 book, "The Renewed Mind". Please note that the purpose of the podcast is to try to reach and help people who currently struggle with, or support those who struggle with, anxiety or depression.  Please share it with anyone who you think might benefit from this Christian approach to well-being. Episode Notes: In our last episode, we broke down the exhausting burdens of legalism. We learned how to lay down the crushing checklist of perfectionism and step into the rest of God’s grace. But as soon as you step off the treadmill of self-imposed pressure, a very real, practical question pops up: 'If I am no longer driven by fear, pressure, or panic, how do I actually structure my daily life?' When the fog of burnout or lethargy lifts, you can sometimes be left standing in front of an empty day with zero momentum. And without a strategy, that empty day quickly gets swallowed up by distraction, procrastination, or the familiar slide back into apathy. Today, we are moving from theory into tactical execution. We are talking about what are often referred to as ‘Planned Intentional Strategies’. Specifically, how a simple tool like an Activity Schedule can become your greatest ally in organizing your freedom, protecting your peace, and turning your renewed mind into purposeful action. The Burden of Legalism

Send us Fan Mail To purchase the book on which the podcast series is based. Go to: The Renewed Mind: A Spiritual Path to Overcoming Depression and Anxiety. eBook : McCandless, Jeremy R: Amazon.co.uk: Kindle Store Episode Notes: The Burden of Legalism. Today, we are talking about The Burden of Legalism. If we are completely honest, one of the greatest, most toxic enemies of daily motivation and mental peace isn't laziness, and it isn't a lack of talent. It is self-imposed pressure. It’s the invisible, heavy blanket of feeling like we must constantly meet some impossible, perfect standard just to be considered worthy of love, space, and respect. If you have spent your life running on the treadmill of religious or personal perfectionism, constantly gasping for air, this episode is your invitation to step off that treadmill. But the Gospel steps into this exhaustion with a completely different offer. In Matthew 11:28-30, Jesus looks at the crowd he faced in His day, but I also believe He is looking directly at you, and says:  'Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.'
