Hellas Verona come from behind to beat Vicenza 2-1 at the Bentegodi, Daniel Mosquera scoring a stunning brace off the bench in his first appearance of the season. Elsewhere in Serie B, Palermo see off Padova 2-1 behind a Vavasori brace, Sampdoria finally win 2-1 over Catanzaro in a chaotic game with a red card and a horror own-goal, Avellino beat Ascoli 3-1 behind a Silipo double, table-topping Sudtirol thrash Arezzo 4-1, Mantova and Pisa share a wild 2-2 draw, and Modena edge Empoli 2-1 on an Andrea Belotti bicycle kick. In Serie A, Frosinone provide the shock of the week, beating Como 2-0 to sit sixth in the table, above Napoli, Juventus and Atalanta. Mantova stay perfect at the top as Francesco Rocco scores again in a 1-0 win over bottom side Sampdoria, who miss a penalty to boot.
