    40 | The Mercy Seat: Where God Meets With Us

    Praying Through the Sanctuary | Part 8 What if the greatest privilege of prayer is not what we receive from God, but the opportunity to simply be with Him? In this episode of Renewed & Radiant, we arrive at the mercy seat, where God's presence was manifested in the earthly sanctuary. Here, we discover the beautiful meeting of God's righteousness and mercy, and the extraordinary invitation He extends to each of us. Through the precious blood of Jesus, we can boldly approach God's throne of grace. Not because we have earned the right, but because Jesus, our great High Priest, has made the way. And what do we find when we come? Mercy, grace, and a loving God who desires to commune with us. But prayer is so much more than bringing our requests to God. It is an invitation to spend time in His presence, to enjoy being with Him and to grow in our relationship with Him. Together, we explore what the mercy seat reveals about God's character, why guilt and shame need not keep us from Him, and how we can move beyond simply asking God for things to enjoying communion with Him. We also reflect on those days when our devotional time feels distracted or rushed, remembering that God's faithfulness does not change with our feelings. Our invitation this week is simple: Draw near. Not because we have everything together, but because Jesus has made the way.     39 | Inside the Ark: Treasures of the Covenant

    What can the Ten Commandments, a golden pot of manna, and a budded rod teach us about God and our relationship with Him? In this episode of Renewed & Radiant, we continue our journey of prayer through the earthly sanctuary, arriving in the Most Holy Place to explore three remarkable treasures associated with the Ark of the Covenant. Each reveals something beautiful about the character of God and invites us into a deeper relationship with Him. • The Ten Commandments remind us that God's law reflects His character of love, and that true obedience flows from a heart that loves Him. • The golden pot of manna reminds us of God's faithful provision and His invitation to trust Him for our daily needs rather than worrying about tomorrow. • Aaron's rod that budded reveals God's life-giving power and reminds us that the One who begins a good work in us is faithful to complete it. As we reflect on these treasures, we are invited to examine our hearts, surrender our need for control, and depend on Jesus rather than our own strength. Because the sanctuary was never simply about rituals or sacred objects. It was about revealing God's character and His desire to restore our relationship with Him. And beyond these treasures lies something even more wonderful: the presence of God Himself. Remember: The God who calls us to love, provides for our needs, and brings life where there was none is the same God who invites us to know Him personally.     38 | The Altar of Incense – Praying in His Presence

    Prayer is an invitation to draw near to God, talk with Him, linger in His presence and bring others before Him. In this episode of our Praying Through the Sanctuary series, we move to the final piece of furniture in the Holy Place: the Altar of Incense, standing immediately before the veil into the Most Holy Place. Scripture gives us the beautiful picture of incense rising before God with the prayers of His people. Here we discover not only the privilege of prayer, but the power of intercession. Prayer is not our last resort. It is one of the most powerful things we can do. God invites us to bring others before Him, trusting that He hears our prayers and works in ways we may never see. And when we do not know what to pray, we are not alone. The Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness, and Jesus Himself is our great Intercessor. We cannot make another person's choices for them. But we can bring them before God, ask Him to continue drawing them towards Himself, and trust them into His hands.     37 | The Table of Shewbread - Fed by the Word of God

    God sustains us. In this episode of Praying Through the Sanctuary, we continue into the Holy Place and come to the Table of Shewbread. The bread was to remain continually before the Lord, reminding us that God has provided continual spiritual nourishment for His people. Jesus is the Bread of Life, and His Word is not meant to bean occasional snack or emergency ration when life falls apart. We are invited to come to the table daily to feast on His word, not out of obligation, but because we want to know Him more. Having asked the Holy Spirit to fill us at the menorah, wenow come to the Word asking Him to teach us, give us understanding, show us Jesus and feed us with the truth we need for today.     36 | The Lampstand - Filled to Overflowing

    As we continue praying our way through the sanctuary, we leave the courtyard and step into the Holy Place, where we come to the golden lampstand. Inside the sanctuary there were no windows. The lampstand provided the light, but it could not burn without a continual supply of oil. What a beautiful picture of our need for the Holy Spirit. Jesus is the Light of the World. We are not the source of the light, and we do not have to manufacture it ourselves. Instead, we are invited to be continually filled with the Holy Spirit so that the character and light of Jesus can be seen through us. At the lampstand, our prayer becomes: Holy Spirit, fill me. Teach me. And let the light of Jesus shine through me.     35 | The Laver - Wash Me Clean

    As we continue praying our way through the sanctuary, we move from the altar of sacrifice to the laver - the place of washing and cleansing. The sanctuary gives us a beautiful model for prayer: a pathway we can walk through in our minds as we draw nearer to God. At each place, our conversation with Him deepens. At the laver, the prayer becomes personal: "Search me, O God." Scripture tells us that the heart can deceive us, which means there may be things within us that we simply cannot see for ourselves. We need God to search our hearts and lovingly reveal what needs to be confessed and cleansed. But the laver is not a place of shame. God doesn't reveal what needs cleansing so that we can stand staring at the dirt. He reveals it because He wants to wash us clean.     34 | The Altar of Sacrifice – He Took My Place

    In Part 2 of Praying Through the Sanctuary, we step through the gate and come to the altar of sacrifice.  The altar confronts us with a truth that sin is serious, and redemption was costly.  Through the Old Testament sacrificial system, we see the confronting picture of an innocent lamb taking the place of the guilty sinner. Every sacrifice pointed forward to Jesus - theLamb of God who would ultimately take our place. The altar reminds us not only of the terrible cost of sin, but of the extraordinary depth of God's love. And as we use the sanctuary as a model for prayer, we don't rush past this place. We stop. We remember the cost. We remember the love. And from a heart of gratitude, we simply say: Thank you Jesus!     33 | Come With Me to the Sanctuary

    In this episode, we begin a new mini-series, Praying Throughthe Sanctuary, taking a journey through the biblical sanctuary one step at a time. We begin outside the courtyard, discovering that before we encounter anyof the furniture or rituals, we encounter the heart of God: He wants to dwell with His people. As we stand at the gate, we explore the reality of sin andseparation, but more importantly, the beautiful truth that God has not left us to find our own way back to Him. He has provided the way. Throughout this series, we will ask three questions at everystage of the journey: What does this tell us about God? What does this tell us about Jesus?
