One unexpected emergency. One moment that reminds you just how precious life really is. Good morning, party people! What a difference a few hours can make. This past weekend took me on an emotional roller coaster. Saturday started with a 6 AM medical emergency involving my dad. Fear, anxiety, and uncertainty quickly replaced everything else on my mind. Thankfully, after testing at the hospital, we received great news: no heart attack. Just hours later, I was shopping for my daughter's first car. In one day, I went from worrying about my father's future to celebrating my daughter's future. And it got me thinking. Earlier this year, my mom suffered a stroke. Having both parents experience medical emergencies just months apart has reminded me how fragile life really is. We spend so much time planning for tomorrow that sometimes we forget the blessing of today. The truth is, none of us knows how many days we have left. But God never called us to live in fear of tomorrow. He calls us to live faithfully, intentionally, and purposefully today.     Daily Devotional: Don't Quit Now - Day 41 is Coming

Throughout the Bible, the number 40 repeatedly shows up in seasons of waiting, testing, preparation, struggle, and transition. The rain fell for 40 days. Israel wandered for 40 years. Goliath taunted Israel for 40 days. Jesus fasted and faced temptation for 40 days. And eventually, something came next. That doesn’t mean every struggle ends on Day 41. It doesn’t mean 41 is some magical number, or that God promises the outcome we want on our timetable. But it does remind us of something important: Don’t decide the story is over while God is still writing it. In Galatians 6:9–10, we’re reminded not to become weary in doing good because, at the proper time, we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Maybe you’re living in your own “Day 40” right now. You’re tired. You’ve been praying. You’ve been waiting. You’ve been fighting the same battle, and you’re wondering how much longer you can keep going. But you don’t know what day you’re on. So today, make one decision: Not today. I’m not quitting today. I’m not giving up today. I’m going to trust God one more day.     Daily Devotional: God, Give Me a Spiritual CT Scan

After dealing with stomach pain and going in for an abdominal CT scan, I found myself sitting in the waiting room thinking about what the scan was designed to do: look beneath the surface and reveal what I couldn't see for myself. And then it hit me — spiritually, we need the same thing. In Psalm 139, David prays, “Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.” David wasn't asking God to discover something He didn't already know. He was asking God to help him see what God already saw. We spend a lot of time maintaining what everyone sees on the outside. But what’s happening underneath? Is there anger, resentment, pride, fear, jealousy, or sin we've gotten too comfortable carrying around?     Daily Devotional: Think You Have Nothing To Offer God?

Can someone really live their entire life apart from God, turn to Jesus at the very end, and still be saved? In Episode 144 of The Hall Hotline, Jon tackles the idea of the “11th-hour salvation loophole” by looking at one of the clearest examples of grace in the Bible: the criminal on the cross beside Jesus. While one criminal mocked Jesus, the other recognized his own guilt, recognized who Jesus was, and simply said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” Jesus answered, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.” — Luke 23:43 This man had no time to clean up his life. He couldn’t get baptized, go to church, start doing good works, repair his past, or spend years proving he had changed. All he had was faith. That’s the incredible message of grace: salvation isn’t about building a good enough résumé. It’s about putting your faith in Jesus Christ. “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith… not by works, so that no one can boast.” — Ephesians 2:8–9 And remember this simple acronym: GRACE — God’s Riches At Christ’s Expense. TODAY’S CHALLENGE: What are you still trying to fix before you bring it to Jesus? Stop trying to make yourself worthy of Him. Bring Him the sin, the failure, the shame, and the thing you think disqualifies you—and trust in His grace. The criminal didn’t get into paradise because he finally became good enough.     Daily Devotional: When You’re Just Not Feeling It

Maybe overwhelmed. And sometimes that can make us wonder if something is wrong with us spiritually. But then there’s Elijah. In 1 Kings 18, Elijah stands on Mount Carmel and witnesses one of the most incredible displays of God’s power in the Bible. Fire falls from heaven. The people proclaim that the Lord is God. After years of drought, the rain returns. Then, just one chapter later, Elijah is exhausted, afraid, sitting under a tree and telling God, “I have had enough.” Yesterday’s victory does not prevent you from being exhausted today. And look at how God responded. He didn’t condemn Elijah. He allowed him to sleep. He provided food and water. He gave him rest before sending him forward again. Sometimes you don’t need to quit. You just need to rest.
