    Live with Ic1s

    JB is joined by Dan and Jesse from the band Ic1s for your latest episode. We kick off by hearing about their influences in terms of some similar tastes and alternative ones. The band returned a couple of years ago after stopping previously around 2014. There is some chat about what is was like to be a band back then with a manager who promised them the world and the reason the band broke up. They're back better than ever with their album 'What Took You So Long' which came out towards the end of 2025 with plans for their second album to come out early 2027. You can catch the band at shows in Newcastle in October and London in February of next year. The guys give us an insight in to how the band got back together, how they're doing everything themselves on their return and more. Both the guys are huge football fans so we talk a bit about their respective teams and hopes for the season. To finish off the podcast we ask the guys some quickfire questions.

    This week JB is joined by returning guest Ol from The Fods and The Goodstock Project. It's 30 years since Oasis played their legendary gigs at Balloch and Knebworth so we decide to take a look back at that and other memorable live moments. Ol gives us an insight in to one of his favourite early memories of going to gigs and festivals. There is chat about how gig habits seem to have changed over the years as we encourage music fans to get out and support emerging bands and small music venues. We speak about how the music scene as evolved as we take a look at the 90s and discuss what the last huge scene was in British music.     Ballerina Moshpit with Dead Sheep

    For our latest episode, JB is joined by Sophie, Millie and Myls from Blackpool band Dead Sheep. The band make their podcast debut which we are delighted about. To kick things off we discover how they came up with the name of the band, how they got together and their singles that they have released so far.     After a short break, JB is back with guests Gavin and Mark from dreamy pop band, Diving Horse. The band brought out their new single 'Feels Like Home' on 10th July and they give us an insight in to how the song came about with Gavin's daughter influencing the track.     Wolfspider and Foxy Finder

    It's a banger of an episode as JB is joined by returning guests Aaron and Violeta from THe folk Drama and Colin and John from Mellow Party. Colin also releases material under his own name of Colin Hunter and you may know John better as the front man of Colonel Mustard and the Dijon 5. John's son also joins us for a cameo appearance. We recorded just over 24 hours before Scotland play Brazil at the World Cup and discuss the pride in the impact our fans have had stateside and Scotland's chances of getting out the group stages. John gives us an insight in to how Colonel Mustard and the Dijon 5 came up with the Scotland song, 'The Fathers of Brazilian Football'.     Point Pleasant the Remix

    On The Sound of the Bar this week, JB is joined by Martin and Andrew from Glaswegian (with a hint of Geordie) band Point Pleasant. To begin we get an insight in to how the band got together, their sound and influences. We ask Martin what the indie music scene is in Newcastle and the influence that Sam Fender has had in the area in terms of guitar based music. The guys reflect on their gigs so far in terms of how they went and give us an insight in to their upcoming plans.     This week we're joined by James and Jake from The Velvet Room who you can find on Instagram @thevelvetroom_official You can keep up to date with information regarding upcoming gigs and single releases. We discuss the music scene in their local area of Aberdeen where they give some shoutouts to other bands such as The Castros and Sister October. Music and fashion is often linked together with a band's image often playing a key role in terms of style. This is explored with how fashion has changed at gigs and on stage over the year. The band discuss the impact that Bonnie from Reation Management has helped support them by getting gigs in different areas and helping them with their promotion.
