Andrew Alexander King is a technology leader, explorer, mountaineer, big-wave surfer, endurance race car driver, philanthropist, and social impact advocate whose work bridges adventure, innovation, identity, and access. Born in Detroit, Michigan, King became the first person in his family to attend college, earning an NCAA Division I track and field scholarship and building his life around discipline, resilience, and the pursuit of possibility. His path has taken him from technology leadership and digital transformation work to some of the world’s most demanding mountains, oceans, endurance races and remote landscapes. As an explorer and athlete, King has climbed more than 50 mountains around the world, pursued major alpine and mountaineering objectives across multiple continents, surfed powerful big wave breaks and trained as an endurance race car driver. His log-term exploration mission is rooted not only in achievement, but in representation: challenging narrow ideas of who belongs in the outdoors and expanding what adventure can mean for communities historically excluded from these spaces. King is the founder of "The Between Worlds Project", a platform dedicated to increasing access to nature, elevating underrepresented voices, and using exploration as a vehiclefor education, healing, environmental awareness, and social change. His advocacy focuses on equity, economic barriers, mental wellness, climate responsibility, and the power of outdoor and technology spaces to transform lives. Alongside his work in exploration, King brings more than a decade of experience in technology, program leadership, digital transformation, cloud infrastructure, AI-enabled operations, and enterprise delivery. His professional work reflects the same principles that guide his life outdoors: systems thinking, accountability, resilience, and building pathways where they have not traditionally existed. Recognized as one of the outdoor industry’s influential emerging voices, King’s story and work have been featured across major media and outdoor platforms. Whether climbing, surfing, freediving, leading technology initiatives, mentoring young people, or building The Between Worlds Project, Andrew Alexander King stands for courage, representation, service, and the belief that adventure can be a force for both personal transformation and collective progress.
