The phrase 'the gospel is offensive, nothing else should be' captures this beautifully: people can leave challenged by the truth of their need for a Savior, but they should never leave feeling unwanted, unseen, or judged by how we treated them. Discipleship truly does start at hello, because if we won't look someone in the eye and learn their name, why would they trust us with their deepest struggles?
